A lot of this has been self inflicted as Trevor has, for days, used thoughts of his nightmares to quell his arousal at Shane in Speedos. Trevor is dicing with a debilitating psychological fear to solve something trivial. And still he doesn't see the dangers of the game he is playing with his own sanity. Silly boy.
-
Ah carrots for the Roos; of course! Shane clearly doesn't need them when he can simply wear his Speedos instead to have Trevor tripping over things. I'm still not sure whether Shane has a firm opinion yet on Trevor's sexuality. Trevor has admitted to not having had any girlfriends but he's also had a lot to pre-occupy his mind. Shane' s just having fun with Trevor who he suspects is at least some way into guys but afraid to admit it. The real question is whether that is an appropriate description for Shane, as well.

Jason Kline and Barney Fitzroy are going to make a formidable partnership exposing and publishing Trevor's story. The serious risk to Trevor's life is clear. It's heartening to see Henry and Gonzalez working so well together. I don't think George will know what hit him, once they get some hard evidence on him. Joel and Lisa are playing a stupid game with both Trevor's and their own lives and really haven't a clue about anything except their ridiculous prejudices about who they will and will not trust, in any circumstances. The fact that they can and probably will spill any information to Bridget, makes them a ticking bomb that Gonzalez and Henry need to manage with kids gloves. Rhys Point seems like a wonderfully secluded spot. Still musing at what Shane has planned for those carrots and just how shocked Trevor will be by the implication.
-
Still find George's idea to buy Trevor's car far more incriminating to George and Bridget. They'll have to prove they had nothing to do with it being planted, at the very least. Shane and Trevor becoming more open about their friendship towards eachother. Shane warning Trevor to look out for the trees on the other side of the road, as he was taking his shirt off, suggests he's figured out the reason for his friends clumsiness. Shane's writing of Trevor's story is bound to breach Trevor's personal traits. I suspect that Trevor is about to confess his biggest secret. We may just find what Shane plans to do with all those carrots that he bought, given that neither of them like them for food. I'm going out on a limb here but I do wonder if they'll start appearing in Shane's shorts, leading to numerous more slip ups by Trevor. 😉

I'm not sure that Bridget paying over the odds for Joel's car was a wise move if she is going to plant serious drugs on Joel and Lisa. It adds an inexplicable financial trace back to Bridget that she can't reasonably explain away. Was she paying for them to become drug mules shipping her drugs? More chilled times between Shane and Trevor with a focus on improving their fitness together. Pretty standard young male pursuits and nothing that should offer Trevor hope of anything more.
-
And Joel's idea of the perfect place for Trevor over Christmas, is at Bridget's guesthouse. Boy have those young'ns been played for fools, big time. There's a great tension in seeing the prey, playing in the jaws of the predator, oblivious to the fact that the jaws are teetering on the edge of snapping shut at anytime. Great scenic break for Trev and Shane. I too take little or no comfort from those who who would offer platitudes that sharks will only kill you by mistake. Try explaining that to my dead corpse!

Trevor finally gets the sort of treatment he was overdue since he made it to Australia. A Thanksgiving Day meal surpassing any other over the past decade. Time for Trevor to be on the receiving end of some Charter hospitality. Sounds like they're going to have some fun over the next week or two. I also think Trevor is safe to share his sexuality with Shane. At the very least, I would expect Shane to behave as he would to any of Mr. Blake's other gay customers. After all his job is the most important thing to him right now. And knowing Trevor, as a friend and accomplished adventurer, I'd be very surprised if he reacted negatively in any way.

The Great Australian Blight
Guest034229 commented on C James's story chapter in The Great Australian Blight
Some really wild thinking here about hiring the Kookaburra to sail to Florida to search for Ares, then sail her back to Aus and then sail the fixed up Atlantis back home. I guess that's teenagers for you. Given the several assassination attempts and the near total destruction of the Atlantis, I think the search for Ares warrants being put on hold by a few months, at least. The positive news is that both Shane and Trevor are intimating that they could stand eachother s company for a circumnavigation of the globe. So no more months in isolation for Trevor. As for Kline's reporting of the true story when he meets up with Trevor, it must come with conditions of misdirections about his current whereabouts. -
Well its good to see Shane getting a break in life. He's finally earning some money and a chance to earn the respect of people who really matter. Seems like it will be weeks before Trevor can rid himself of his nightmare experiences. But at least he gets to do that in the comfort of a similar Cat to his Atlantis. Not sure what Shane will make of Trevor when he inevitably spots him checking him out. I'm guessing he'll be as OK as Joel was. Kline is clearly going to be the whistle blower on Trevor's location, if Lisa doesn't get to blurt it out first. Now for a few weeks sunning in Sharks Bay.
-
Try keeping the Kookaburra out of the press now, as the owners insisted.
-
Why on earth didn't Gonzalez make it clear to Lisa and Joel to keep everything about Trevor secret from everyone, including Bridget. In fact, Trevor should just realise that trusting his exact details to Lisa and Joel has failed him twice. Without doubt he needs to take sole ownership of that secret, for his own safety.
-
At this rate it won't be long before Shane figures out why Trevor's attention is always getting distracted. And like Joel, I don't think Shane will bat an eyelid either. I'm glad to see that both Gonzalez and Henry are both onto George and Bridget now. Sanchez may have to divert his energies to severing links with the last two soon.
-
Well good on Shane for ditching the printed story for his new friend Trev. It's probably best it Trevor keeps his interest in guys away from Shane until he can sound him out over a few more fun times together. Trev just needs a friend for now without having to reveal everything about himself. As it happens, I think Trev has possibly found himself someone similar to Joel.
-
I can't see see how a seasoned gang leader like Sanchez, can put a third hit on a target and fail. Trevor isn't even truly expecting any dangers. That's a worry. As for the 'village idiot' well by process of elimination, Shane and Trev have now got eachother for company. It seems like they've got enough in common with age, swimming, surfing, the odd beer and fit bodies, enough to attract whoever they may be attracted to. As for Shane, printing off Trev's story, he may be doing it as a favour to earn some money for his friend. After all, the Shane's of this world need to be resourceful in order to survive.
-
At last, Bridgets feathers are beginning to get ruffled. Sadly the risk to Trevor's life is about to re-emerge. He badly needs protective custody or to go walkabout while this case gets sorted out. And what a miserable old town Carnarvan turned out to be. Almost two days in and not one person has gone out of their way to find even find an old pair of shorts for Trevor. It seems like everyone's just doing their job or after what they can get. By now, someone should have invited him home for tea and showed him some kindness, at the very least. Then you've got the village idiot flexing his muscles. It's a pity that Trevor didn't quite knock him unconscious, even in his weekened state. When all said and done, it's disheartening to see that Trevor is broken hearted after everything he's had to endure. He really does need a friend he can share the rest of this journey with.

Thanks for assisting with my understanding @Red_A you don't get to be as good a dayskipper as me without sitting at a bar, propounding your wisdom, if not your expertise.

Stranger in a Strange Land
Guest034229 commented on C James's story chapter in Stranger in a Strange Land
A genuine thanks @pickuptoy for following along and not having spoilt any of the plot. I tend to read everyone else comments and unfortunately, there was just one comment that someone left (about 15 chapters back) that made it clear that Trevor had successfully sailed to Australia. I might ask if they will be kind enough to wrap it in a spoiler alert, as it is a major spoiler for any new readers. -
Stranger in a Strange Land

The Insurance looks spot on and Ned sounds like just the chap to have on the refurbishment. Biggest worry now will be Joel and Lisa spilling everything to Bridget. Lisa in particular can't seem to understand the meaning of don't tell anyone. Not sure how Trevor is going to avoid the next assassin. Unless maybe Henry can break in to the love shack and discover that Bridget had it bugged to overhear Lisa and Joel. -
Now let me think: a night in an hotel or the floor of a wrecked boat? No one's going to prise that lad away from Atlantis. The biggest problem Trevor has is that his insurance company will be be publicising everything there is to know about him. And how long before Bridget, George and Sanchez arrange to finish him off for good. Dirk and Jim just need to keep low for another three weeks. In the meantime Joel and Lisa are next to be framed for a crime they didn't commit. There's just no end to all of this.
-
Thank you @pickuptoy. I'm still basking in the relief of that ordeal. 😎

I have no problem admitting that there were tears streaming down my face as soon as that Customs ship appeared from nowhere. That was an ordeal way beyond any other, to have put both Trevor and your readers through. Please God it's all going to be plain sailing from here! A Fantastical scripting of a death defying Argonaut. Really can't wait to see what they make of our intrepid hero.

I bow to Trevor's nautical experience. The amount of knowledge that has been revealed about his navigational skills has been a real source of joy and enlightenment. I mean the equation of time is just another of the many conundrums that will cause your manual navigations to fail. But the fact that he hasn't immediately tried to sail, as due east as he is able, is completely mystifying. Clearly his daytime temperatures put him at at latitude level with the Australian continent. He's already worked out that he can't have travelled far enough to be in the Pacific. So Australia is clearly somewhere East. Then trying to navigate to a specific bay when he can't even find a continent, seems simply absurd. Surely he has to find the continent first. Then he can get fussy about asking local sailors for directions to a safe place to land. My only gripe so far, with the sailing aspects of this truly great story.
-
This story can't get any more frightful. Trevor must have abandoned all hope by this stage. All I can say, is that should Trevor survive this experience, then absolutely nothing in life, should ever frighten him again.
-
A little positive news as things worsen for Trevor. Ali met the fate he deserved among the whitetip sharks, given the miserable deaths he'd meted out to innocents, over the years. Trevor swaying at the end of each spreader, without any safety harness, is just one of the numerous acts of desperation he's faced, as he heads inexorably Southwards, driven by the storm. Can't he just catch a break for once? It's great that Gonzalez has Henry as an unsolicited resource, helping with the Bridget and bombing angle. There's so few people he can trust in the department. I feel we will all learn a lot about criminal surveillance and activities, in what lies ahead. One of the best thrillers I've ever read.

This story surely has to change fortunes soon. Alternating between Bridget's easy smile, as she contemplates to ruin the lives of Lisa and Joel. Then having to deal with Trevors hopeless situation. Surely he will freeze heading down to Antartica
