Finally, Mr. Griffiths sees sense but only under duress, I might add. What a hero Jock: commited to the underdog, even when those around you forget to raise their hands or even refuse to back themselves (Mr. Lowry). Great job Marty. I see that you are none too ashamed to resort to misdirection in your comments. Something about what Jock may know about, that Mr. Griffiths may not want revealed. 😉 I suppose there is the chance that we haven't got around to that part yet.

That was so mind blowing G that I've got nothing here to boost your ego with, right now. You totally had us seeing colors 🌈 all around.

Chapter 33 The Business at Hand
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 33 The Business at Hand
Good to see that the Shifters are getting armed to protect themselves. They'll be able to avoid being detected until the more permanent copper chains arrive. Plus they are getting enough protection to keep a few groups safe. Miss Sybil really brought out the full brutality of the Hunters torture and killing spree. They actually burnt their victims alive. Worse still, this was just young lad who had just shifted, so was probably 16 or under before they half burnt him. More than enough motivation to kill Reznick, if ever it was needed. We now know that the Silver appears to give the Hunters the same signal, for one or more Shifters nearby. They can use this to their advantage and trick the Hunter into thinking he is dealing with just one Shifter, and then ambush him with others. They could always lure him to where they'd set up their own death trap. Get their own sniper at the ready. There are lots of options here. -
Chapter 32 Game Changer
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 32 Game Changer
Great discovery about the protective uses of copper chain. Who knew there was copper in various grades of silver? And it works in Wolf form too. Lots of Poseur Wolves running around. Reznick may not be able to locate them so easily now but he will definitely know they are shifters, if they are wearing copper chains. Is that important? Maybe. Do the Hunters need to go through the ritual burning for Shifters but not for Wolves? They seem to hate Shifters with a Vengeance for some undisclosed reason. Great find on your first day Warren. Confirmed 'son' status with Elinor, member of Morningstar and unsung hero to the pack. I doubt there was room to move any higher on Adeline's chart though, so you'll have to settle for 100% adoration. Next step will be a plan of action to trap the Hunters. Who knows where they are or even how many there are? Can the copper be used in reverse to detect Hunters. Wild idea, I know but anything is worth a try. I'm still thinking about the significance of that scar on the old Reznick. I'm now wondering if that's what drove him mad? And if it did, will the same thing happen to Warren? Just another thing to be aware of. On a lighter note, Kellar could do worse than to order some extra copper wire. He needs to tie Tobyn's hands up, while he's in bed with him. All that nipple tweaking; its gotta hurt, man. 😉 Loving all the dialogue and antics in bed; great fun. Also, had to laugh at someone's mention of Reznick having disrupted Kellar's amorous designs for Tobyn. 🙂 Will Kellar get to boost the Pack's batteries in the way he would have preferred? We can only hope but it's almost too close to call, at this stage. I certainly wouldn't feel safe at Kellar's cabin, knowing a Hunter is at large. Thanks G for another great chapter. 😉 -
Chapter 31 The Stuff of Fairy Tales
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 31 The Stuff of Fairy Tales
Warren's comment about Tobyn being pretty and Kellar being a lucky man definitely seemed to seal the deal. I doubt there'll be a funnier exchange than this one lead by Tobyn: “Hey, I think I like this guy. Maybe I picked the wrong brother.” Before Kellar could open his mouth to retort, Warren answered. “Trust me, dude. You picked the right one. I wouldn’t be much good to you at all, no matter how pretty you are.” His dry delivery had them all laughing. 🤣 Every kid deserves a break so what a great opportunity this is for Warren: the girlfriend of his dreams, a new house, a new job, new bro's and a new family in a completely new healthy country lifestyle. To think, it could have been so different if not for Kellar. I expect Warren will want to repay the favour, in full, before this story is out. Real pity that Warren was too weak to demonstrate how his scar gave him the ability to detect Shifters early. The way you manage to suppress this reveal, time and again, is nothing short of genius, G. -
Chapter 30 Family Matters
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 30 Family Matters
That was my favourite chapter so far with regards to the range of character interactions. The whole way that Kellar was sounding out Warren. His gradual shift from distrust and dislike to no longer seeing Warren as a threat. Then to pitying the broken destitute, whose scar tissued knees, needed healing. And finally, their shared laughter and Kellar's realisation, that this was no longer the Warren he once knew. It was time they both made a fresh start. So amusing to see Kellar's inadequate attempts to keep Warren and Adeline apart. Isn't there a phrase that says "love can move mountains"? It was certainly the case here. 🙂 Its cute how Tobyn was rattled by the waitress and just can't seem to prevent those little jealousies escaping. An obvious torture, for a man, so used to being in control. And there's no shortage of volunteers wanting to tease him for it, too. Everyone's hoping for Tilly to find her mate. There's a real sense of togetherness forming here, as young romances start to blossom. Thanks Gary. 😉 -
Chapter 29 Not Such A Bad Thing
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 29 Not Such A Bad Thing
Another wonderful chapter. Phew! don't mess with Adeline... she'll kick your ass and then some Mountain Man. 😂 I bet his arm is sore. The whole dialogue is so natural and such a joy to read. Everyone was enjoying Tobyn's discomfort at having been discovered to have lied to cover up for a passionate evening with Kellar. Tobyn is such an easy target. Tilly is being so good with him; she clearly cares for him in a sisterly way. Kellar and Tobyn are constantly seeing new ways of helping eachother out and beyond the fringe benefits list too. My only concern would be if Warren can't be trusted to know about Morningstar but Adeline insists on bringing him back anyway. That will put the pack at risk. My prediction about Warrens scar being able to sense them before he sees them, is about to become a reality. -
Chapter 28 Interlude at Eagle's Nest
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 28 Interlude at Eagle's Nest
Thankyou G. This line means more to me than any other line that I've ever written. In my mind I was thinking of the first time you allowed another to consume the view of your nakedness. A view that you alone had kept to yourself and was so much part of your soul. Essentially, it was everything that was once known only to yourself that was now the undertaking of another. Of course, I wanted it to cover everything else that lovers do, too. The imagery of your scenes is beyond inspiration. No wonder so many are drawn back to the well. My wolf demands it. 《howls》🐺 🌙 -

Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 28 Interlude at Eagle's Nest
Seclusion beyond the eagles nest, mountainous serenity to behold. Lovers bathe in the moon's luminescence; consuming intimacies, that were once, the soul possession of their mate. So powerfully passionate and loving G. An energy generated from the gravitational pull, between desire and restraint. The perfect romance: it's all there, if only, I open my eyes. -
Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
Eureka! I may have come up short on the Sirius speculation but I've just realised how the pack will discover the significance of the scar. Warren!!! They are going to meet up with him tomorrow and he will tell them he could smell or sense them before he saw them arrive. Mother of Venus, strike me down if I am wrong 🤣🤣🤣 -
Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
Very well spotted P. You're good! I'm with you on this. Only question is how all the Hunters got this ability? Did they all allow themselves to be scarred? And what's with that walking stick? An evil Warlock's Magical Staff. Has to be. We're in the land of the faeries. Why not? That got me curious about checking out Morning Star. There's a dozen things it can be including Venus which we've heard Tobyn use as an expression of shock. However, it can also be Sirius otherwise known as Canis Major or large dog (or Wolf maybe?), if my Latin serves me correctly. Sirius is also the brightest star in the sky. It draws it's brightness from being a binary (maybe a subtle reference to the Morningstar pack drawing it's strength from the dual orbits of Kellar and Tobyn?). Oh the fun that can be had from astronomy, mythology and semantics. Count me in. -
Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 27 Leaving Home and Finding Home
So our boys have settled on a great set up living in what was Tobyn's home and keeping Kellar's old cabin as a get away retreat. I'm sure Kellar, in particular, will need that. The Hunters strength is in a tall walking stick or is it the staff of an evil warlock, practising the dark arts? Maybe there's something they can Google on the occult or find in the library that would shed more light. Miss Sybil's Seer skills can see danger ahead for both of them. Let's hope she can eventually see a way of defeating the Hunters? A new Vega group to visit. That should be interesting: new set of characters including a Warren like son to deal with, according to Denver. Kellar can now understand Denver's misery over the past few years. Any doubts Tobyn had about killing Reznick must have vanished by now, hearing what he did to Osanna. Full on day for Kellar greeting with Elinor, Dinner with a several others and a trip to Adeline's and Tilly's to come. Could we possibly see Warren with ga ga eyes tomorrow? I imagine Warren and Adeline will hit it off. Poor Tilly. She's had a rough time. Let's hope her mate is in Vega. Busy days ahead. They'll sleep tonight for sure, once they sort themselves out. Life at the camp isn't seeming that bad. Another well crafted day in this strangely real world that you've created G. Looking forward to the rest. 😘 -
Chapter 26 Strength In Numbers
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 26 Strength In Numbers
Not my best opening line, considering I believe this to be a fundamentally important chapter. One in which Kellar ceased to see himself as an independent, operating outside of the pack. Kellar's arrival home means, Morningstar has a new saviour. One that can heal. How much bigger does it get than that? -
Chapter 25 A Pack Mentality
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 25 A Pack Mentality
What we are witnessing here is the transition from two hitherto self-reliant and very independent thinkers into one more powerful mindset. They review and compare each ones views, using the combined wisdom of both. It's one that is freed from the weaknesses and insecurities of their former selves. In such a way, Tobyn gets to see that he wasn't a terrible person for putting the pack first but was just unaware of the wider benefits, known only to the Healer. Likewise, Kellar realises he wasn't acting out of weakness when supporting his foster brother but acting from a commendable, natural desire to help lost causes. These are the sorts of affirmations both needed to hear. And together it makes them a much more formidable partnership. Is one of them, a little bit smarter than the other? Absolutely. But only, if they keep it to themselves 😉 -
Chapter 26 Strength In Numbers
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 26 Strength In Numbers
"Hi mom, we're home". That about sums up what I think of this chapter. Elinor is positively doting over her two sons. I'm loving the shenanigans as both Elinor and Kellar and Tobyn vie to get their own way. Like she says, she has got her work cut out with these two combined powerhouses. So funny to see Mountain Man trying to outsmart Elinor with the: "I'm not a member of the pack" line, only to be put back firmly and resolutely, in his place: Elinor raised her eyebrows at his show of independence, and then sighed, the resolute expression beginning to leave her face. “I have a feeling you two are going to be a formidable pair for anyone to deal with. And just so we’re clear, as Tobyn’s mate, you are a member of Morningstar, so I’m just going to ignore this attempt to circumvent my authority to get your own way.” A twitch occurred at the corner of her mouth. Yes Kellar, you now have a mom and you will do as you're told!!! 🤣. Loved Tobyn jumping in to support Kellar, using Kellar's own arguments, from earlier, as if they were his own. “He’s trying to turn a corner, Mom. And he’s Adelin’s mate. Shouldn’t she have the same chance we do… it’ll be good for the pack if it works out, and plus it’ll improve our gene pool… him being human and all.” He glanced sideways at an open-mouthed Kellar and smirked. Man, when he bought in, he bought in... Elinor switched her gaze from one to the other. “You two are like a tag team.” “Good. You realize you guys are adorable together, don’t you? It does your mom’s heart good to see the closeness you share.” She laughed at their matching groans. Yes; feels like home! 😘 -

Chapter 23 Comes with the Territory
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 23 Comes with the Territory
These gentle wake up scenes are becoming the best part of the day after the good night scenes, and all those other scenes inbetween. I'm impressed that they've not been at it like rabbits for two days. I understood that to be a critical point in Miss Sybils' discussion with Kellar. I appear to have done the old dear, a disservice. Not liking the imminent threat from Reznick. Lots more understanding of how he operates required. Maybe they take a captive Shifter around with them and the Shifters can't help but react to the scent of other Shifters as they approach. That would certainly be a viable early warning system. It would also mean that there is a prisoner Shifter near where the old Reznick died. Might even be Fendrals kids. Go on G you can let slip on this, for once. Smart move to get away and live to fight another day. -
Chapter 24 Facing Demons
Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 24 Facing Demons
Well what a surprise: Warren Apsley back in the picture. So asking Sybil about the possibilities of Shifters mating with humans now makes more sense. Kellar's ability to remember colour patterns is perfect then. Way better than I thought. Says a lot about Kellar that he doesn't hold grudges. It emphasises how badly he was treated in the foster care system when deep down he still considers Warren the closest thing to family. Great touch. Always liked the idea of two broken kids coming back together to help eachother out later in life. Truly inspiring, if it happens. Really hopeful for Warren that he becomes a stand out character and confirms the trust Kellar is placing in him. And so happy for Adeline too. Stark contrast to Karen and Don and all those supeficial people in society who do things for show. The camp haven't accepted humans up until now but they must be prepared to change their ways in order to survive. If not, wasn't there a way for humans to change into Shifters by blood transfusion, over 10-20 days or was that another story? That whole Hunter thing is really ominous. I'm concerned that I don't really have a grip on what's going on there, and need to. Scary! The dangers seem real and imminent. Should be a really interesting welcome back at the camp. I think they'll be a surprise party waiting. Can't see the camp letting an event like this pass without a major celebration Interesting developments G. There's certainly no fluff filling out any of your stories. -
Well what a fantastic chapter. Brilliantly conceived and presented, once again 😉 Love everything about the pace, the dialogue, the actions and reactions, fears, concerns and issues that are being discussed and dealt with as they arise. Great interludes of eroticism, passion and humour and every emotion encountered, as they undertake their journey into the unknown. For sure, this is a bleeding edge experience for Kellar and Tobyn. The Joining will no doubt demand their togetherness but it promises to offer so much more in return. Fortunately, we are here to witness their journey and to discover everything, that that entails. And as if that were not enough, it all culminates with an incredibly majestic dance of colors so wonderful to behold that are best described in the closing lines: “Sweet. I got me a romantic one.” Just before he gave in, he flickered, and what he saw was a spectacle unmatched by anything previous. It filled him with peace, and he wished with all his heart that his mate could share in the wonderful slow-dance of colors surrounding them, moving in perfect unison. Thank you Gary. You have created something special here.

At long last, romance is getting a chance. Still, it will be very unsettling for Tobyn. Even knowing his affection for Kellar, most, if not all his sexual imaginings and desires would probably have been focused on females. He may never have given much thought to the possible range of intimacies and activities that males could do together. His mate is happy with kissing and becoming blood brothers so there is no pressure there. But what are the possibilities and just how far can a hitherto hetero comfortably go? A brief look? A smile? A gaze into the eyes? Sit close? Sit close and touching? Place a hand on another and where? Place an arm around shoulder? An embrace? A hug? Gaze into their eyes? Touch faces? A gentle kiss on the neck, the cheek, the ear, the lips? A touch of the tongue? Remove a shirt? Remove one's pants or shorts? Draw down the undergarment that reveals our nakedness? Expose our erection? A naked embrace? A gentle sweep of a butt or a penis? A firmer grip of both? The list extends so far beyond but each is a step that must be considered. For someone as new, as Tobyn, it's almost a game of chicken. One that Kellar is going to gently tread and allow his mate to comfortably find the limits of his boundaries and the fulfilment of his desires. Kellar may be lacking in experience too, but he has had more time to consider and be comfortable with, anything that Tobyn, may want. It's already clear that neither will be subservient to other. Forget the mist; sparks are about to fly. Great that Dane and Mace will, at some stage, be able to put all of that testosterone to good use, for the benefit of the community, of course. I wonder what it is that Kellar is secretly monitoring?

Guest034229 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 19 Running Scared
Hunters, death traps, guns and poisons? Gary, you old school romantic, you! I had long suspected, that the best way to bring Tobyn to his senses, was for Kellar to return home by himself. Let his absence, make the heart grow fonder. Hopefully, Kellar and Tobyn can catch a break soon🤞 And, in case there is any doubt, I mean one that doesn't involve a fracture. 😉
