I love almost everyone left in this story! I love how Kas fights to protect Jihan from putting himself in danger. It drives him crazy that Jihan doesn't do what he's told, the way his army does, he doesn't know how to handle it! There have been so many small things that amazed me with him, I think the first was when Jihan was remembering playing cards with him in the army camp, and Kas kept cheating. Or, when Andiya was chastising him, after she first met him, for being cruel to Jihan. Kas responded he would be as cruel as he needed to be to protect him. Laner, in the previous chapter, when she told Jihan she didn't want to 'Let it go. She had been letting it go for years," and then continued on to tell him where it had gotten her. I fell in love with her at that moment. Duyi, he is why I had to put the "almost" in my first sentence here. Temu, I was indifferent to him until, they were on their way to pick up the butcher. Jihan had read the message from Set, and was explaining to Temu how his merchant network works, he has one man collecting the money, and a different man reporting, and their numbers need to match. When he realized Jihan wasn't as soft as he had previously thought, and developed a great deal more respect for Jihan, thats when I started liking him. Raven, I liked him from the first time we saw him. Rather than take a bath before going to the mansion, he went up the hill, he realized his mistake when Temu led him into the mansion so he could vent. Rather than try to weasel his way out of it, he manned up and vented, that took some balls. Yasmin, I love how she orders them around like they are all her children, even Firuz, and he obeys. Yet, she will take the time to make lemon tarts with Rashan after he upset Jihan. Ha, whether he knew it or not, he gave Jihan a reason to send people into Giode kingdom. I tend to think he knew he was giving Jihan a way to get spies in, and also clueing him in to the fact that they need to be watched, he's a God after all. Neith, I love how she watches over Kastans family, and how she finds the possibiliy of love. Rashan, he's never had to face the real world, and Jihan is determined to protect him. Jihan will have Set and all his spies wore out trying to protect Rashan. He is as determined as Kas is to protect him. Jihan, everybody except Duyi loves him!

Quote: "In minutes, Raven found himself naked in the largest bathing pool he ever saw. Hot water filled to his neck, soap dumped on his hair, Raven closed his eyes and endured a hard scrubbing from a disgruntled Yasmin." I wondered how Raven felt about being treated like "Royalty?" Jihan got the same sort of treatment on the day of his wedding dance.

POWERFUL!

There are several sly ones in this story, Havar is just the loudest one! Patri and Gramps play it cool, they know the elves are operating from a position of strength. They have their own realm, they have the magic to heal anami wounds, they have the magic to fight the demons, and if things go bad they can pull back into the realm and fortify their bubble to ride out the storm. He and his advisors had to have thought of those things, but he doesn't mention any of it to Chris. As long as he can control Chris, he has it won. Chris, being the only one to have ever successfully beaten a demon, and his power growing continually, can conceivably take on all the demons single-handedly eventually. The only thing holding him back now, is their seems to be a limit as to how fast the "Tower of Knowledge" can stuff the information in his head. Patri quickly got Victor under control quick, fast and in a hurry. Their private meeting when the "Earthers" arrived in the realm and Patri threatened to burn him to a cinder had to get Victors attention! Victor is not dumb, to someone who is use to thinking about controlling a situation and as many players as possible, Victor had to be thinking something like, "Don't mess with Patri! If he thinks I am a threat to the realm or Chris, He will turn me to ash without a seconds hesitation." The fact that Patri was jovial as the scene ended, had to have sent chills down Victors spine, especially after Patri threatened to leave his sneakers full of cinders and ash. He made sure Victor got that message loud and clear, it will lurk in the back of Victors mind for a LONG time. On their walk to their apartment, Chris commented on how quiet Victor was. I think he was busy thinking his way through his conversation with Patri to get the full implications of it. Patri and the rest of the family quickly latched on to Mr Rogers, Chris' father. Making him feel welcome, loved, cherished, and did I say needed. In the even that something goes drastically wrong, other than Victor, Mr Rogers is the only other security line to keep Chris in control. The royal family seems to work very well together, on lots of different projects, not just Mr Rogers, and Patri is the one coordinating everything. Again, Patri, Gramps or one of their advisors had to have thought of these things, and they know they are in control as long as they can keep Chris under control. Victor is the primary control line to Chris, Mr Rogers is the backup line. As king, its Patri's job to think of what is best for the realm, how to protect his people. He has been doing it for a few centuries, so he is watching everyone and keeping track of everything Chris is doing, and thinking about how it's going to affect the realm. This is strategizing, it's his job, that he has been doing a long time, its what he was trained to do from birth. Chris seems to be maturing faster than most people his age. The way he deals with the political figures, he is learning how to manipulate situations into his favor. The way he so casually volunteered to put on a magic show, knowing it was going to do several things, give their spy time to pilfer and plant their listening devices by flirting with a guard and using a spell to get him to show him around. Impress the humans, and help them realize things are getting serious, sit up and pay attention. Third, the casual way he fixed everything after the fight, as if to say, "Let me clean up after playing legos with my cousins kid." The last one had to put every politician and spy in the place, that used his head, on notice that he could bury them under that runway and they would never be heard from again. They would be swept into the dustpan of history. Either he is learning fast, or he is very lucky in the decisions he is making. I wonder how long its going to take him to figure out the games Patri plays. Will he agree with Patri, that the realm and its people must be protected at all cost, even if it means sacrificing earth?

I've read this several times over last two days. It makes me think. It's sad but it has hope for the future in it to. I'm not one for poetry very much, but I like this.

I'm surprised Anit didn't slap Eren, leaving her with a red mark on her face to match the one she left on Tani. To my way of thinking it would have been justified.

I have read everything Lilansui has posted on this site, most things at least twice. Lilansui is an awesome author, and waiting for the next chapter is ALWAYS hard. We have moved on from this storybut it's still a favorite to reread.

I've reread the story twice!

I'm just glad Kalian finally grew a backbone and decided to stand up for himself. I just started reading this story a couple days ago, but he was really starting to annoy me.

You should go back a few chapters. According to the Ancient One, Andiya's baby will be born at Sun Filled Manor.

I think its funny that people are saying Taylor is a republican because he's obnoxious and stupid. Republicans don't have a monopoly on stupidity or poor behavior. Pelosi and/or Trump could be the poster children for both. Neither characteristic seems to recognize party lines! More importantly, I wondered why Victor wasn't able to go to the meeting? I agree, Taylor and Havar both need to be taken down a few pegs. Neither contributed anything to the meeting, in fact it could be said they were both detractors to any progress.

Are we going to get a new chapter?

Some of the voices are revealed in the next chapter, not all of them though...

Nisa is tiresome and she needs to open her eyes. If she isn't careful she is going to get herself hurt, or at the very least shamed. Kastan and Jihan are both trying to be gentle in letting her know her attentions aren't wanted or needed. I'm glad Temu seems to be gaining a great deal of respect for Jihan, and what he is trying to do. I think it probably helped when Jihan went to the farms and was actively trying to help them save the crops from flooding, rather than sitting back giving orders, and telling everyone else what to do. By the end of the chapter, he is actively trying to help, when he asks permission to take tools from the manor to the farms. Kastan acknowledged, at the first of the chapter, that neither he nor his men, are any good at business management and logistics.

I continued to get brief flashes of information from my captive demon, her resistance made it difficult for me to extract a coherent picture. As her resistance slowly gave way, I was able to get more and more information, and what I discovered were not only sickening and disturbing, but alarming as well. I wonder what Chris discovered?

I have wondered myself, if Havar could be working with the demons, to create tension to use as leverage, to get Patri to cast the Astra Spell, or have Chris cast the spell. Either way, Havar is a snake to be watched closely.

I to have read the entire story multiple times, as well as certain chapters even more. I read the arrival in the realm multiple times, and more specifically Patri's private talk with Victor. The chapter with the ascension I read probably five or six times in its entirety, and the actual ascension even more. I loved it when he invoked the different houses. I love this story, there are a lot of very powerful scenes in it. I also like how there are certain threads that go throughout the entire story. In my opinion, that's one of the things that makes a good story into a great story. Because the author is from another country, and American English isn't his native language, I sometimes trip over the grammar. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to figure out what he is meaning, but even with that, this is one of my favorite stories.

It seems he is getting busy quickly to deal with the demon threat, and seems to be taking his new position seriously! That's a good thing!

Awesomeness!!! I look forward to seeing what Chris can do with his new position. He seems to be getting a good start.
