People in general just astonish me with the schemes they come up with. Sad but glad it was handled the way it was. Sounds like Jon and Roger are about to become larger hoteliers but something Jon said stuck me as he m owe something that’s odd and won’t disclose unless Roger wants to buy the place. Can’t wait to see what that is
The story of one man's dream and the reality that followed. Often times, on social media platforms, some try to accumulate as many followers as possible. All Adam wanted to do was enrich the lives of everyone he encountered regardless of who followed ... and the masses did! Excellent in every possible sense of the word and a must read for everyone.
I don't take loss well and am literally sobbing along with Kev, Weiner, and Chris. 😪 So sad that a wonderful life has to end so soon. I can only imagine how all his sons are feeling. A monumental loss to everyone!
OMG, that's a hell of a way to start the morning - everyone dying! Whether we're ready for it or not, it's going to happen to all of us and even Adam. Such a beautiful story of ones life that embraced everyone and shared love immensely. We all have the ability to love and can give love freely. What we don't have control of is how that love is received or returned to us. That is our gift of life.
Agreed, the Academy, College, and all that Adam as worked hard to build thus far will definitely be in good hands once his sons sit on the board. Regardless, having been students as well as sons, they will keep their fathers intent and direction alive for many years to come.
The wall of memories - the most cherished in all of the Academy and College. One has to wonder if Adam is contemplating who his replacement will be. James? A student? One has to wonder as proactive as he is - though he probably doesn't even see retirement on the horizon - I know I don't! LOL!!!
A story of love and perseverance between two men who seemingly have everything yet nothing until they find each other. BUT, will they recognize it before it's too late?
For one, I'm in favor of this storyline continuing - there's still so much left write about. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a story as much as this - full of love, compassion, challenges, and above all, human beings doing the right thing and helping one another.
This chapter brought back so many memories. Molder of Dreams by Guy Rice Doud reminded me of the Adam's I grew up with - loving unconditionally and infinitely. Footprints in the Sand reminded me of Adam's low point when Gerry and Richard stepped up and carried him when he could go not further. How true it is to commiserate with others in similar situations to put in perspective the magnitude of your grief in respect to others. Only when Adam realized the burden that Richard had to carry did he move his focus from self and the natural instinct of helping others kicked in so that he could begin helping himself. Why is it that we often want to take care of the world and, when we need the help of the world the most, we're stubborn as a damn mule about accepting it?
I LUV the short and multiple chapters. They start my morning and finish up my day. Always something to look forward to as they don't consume and enormous amount of my time reading. It's kinda like popping by the refrigerator for a quick snack instead of a formal sit-down meal. A lot more refreshing and, some say, healthier!
Another pointless shooting and loss of Edward, a bright and shining star forever dimmed. Thank goodness Richard had an exam or they could be mourning more than one loss and an injury. When will the world learn that violence isn't the answer?
The relationship Marie and Adam have always makes me laugh and smile. I do wonder though, with all the boys of the academy, it seems everyone is dating someone of a different gender and getting married. I would imagine one or two of them would have a different disposition, wanting to date someone of the same gender, and live happily ever after.
Dad will no longer be visiting Adam ... I'm sure that was hard on Adam after so many years of having a guardian angel and all the sudden he's vanished to be heard from no more. I'd miss that to be honest.
At the beginning of this chapter my heart was light and celebrating the wedding along with everyone else. At the end of this chapter, my blood was boiling - how could anyone stoop so low as to take advantage of a sick woman, essentially robbing her, and leaving both her and her son to starve and die??? FUMING!!! 🤬
I like how Adam has a vision and a drive. The Board is being given the opportunity to support but he who holds the purse strings will do as he pleases. LOL!!!
