Ximo's father's disclosure of his dislike of his father-in-law did not surprise me. One thing puzzled me though @Gary L. Does his father suspect Ximo is gay and he stated that not even his family connections would save him whilst ever Franco and his cronies remain in power? The intimacy of Ximo and Gerardo was beautifully written. Whilst Ximo had opera on the record player, @Summerabbacat had Marvin Gaye and Roberta Flack in mind for the occasion of first time lovemaking. I also thought the cramp scene was vey funny, with very strong imagery. I have thoroughly enjoyed this story @Gary L, and look forward to learning more of Ximo and Gerardo.

I just changed the name of Iris EClair to Cerise EClair so all given names are shades of pink. Crimson and Iris are real people, two friends of mine who are not drag queens, but one night many years ago before heading off to Mardi Gras those names were created and they have stuck ever since. I rarely address them by their real names.

I think it will be a Dancing Queen who will fly like an Eagle, travelling On And On And On to Happy Hawaii with Chiquitita and Fernando after saying So Long to their sweet Honey, Honey with Kisses Of Fire. I adore Summer Night City @Mark Ponyboy Peters. It is so underrated, and I love the video, with both Frida and Agnetha looking hot with summer tans.

I have speculated before Corcoran may have been the victim of sexual abuse when he was perhaps a young blonde teenager. His obsession with Rick now appears to be very personal, revenge being the end game it seems. I wonder if perhaps Rick's never-do-good father may have sexually abused Corcoran (his age may preclude this, but I am not sure how old he is), and this may have been the reason his father suddenly disappeared. Speculation is rife @Mark Ponyboy Peters. The only thing I am sure of is that 50 years ago SOS by ABBA knocked Mamma Mia by ABBA off the #1 spot on the Aussie singles chart, whilst the self-titled ABBA was the #1 album. Perhaps Rick needs to send out an SOS to help find Corcoran before he does further damage.

The music and "gowns" may be very different, but the loud make up, wigs (at least I hope its a wig) and campness, at least of Dee Snider, is not that different.

Theodore's "human" and his "beast" seem to be at war with each other, more often than not. His human is as: whilst his "beast" is: I think Vince has the right idea. To bring out the best, or is it the beast, in Theodore will require a mix of Jack's tactless observations and behaviour and Vince's quiet penetrating comments.

It appears Brad is awake to the little games Aaron likes to play to avoid doing something he does not want to do. Brad's offer to help Aaron with core strength training and arms and shoulders training specifically for karate, beat him at his own game, it is apparently the last thing Aaron wanted. I must say given Aaron's competitive nature, I think having Brad as his personal trainer was not a good idea. I also have to agree with Aaron that learning karate may be good for his confidence; it may also calm him a little as he way too intense. I don't think this chapter would have worked any better or worse as chapter 4 @Odie. Personally, I felt there was a much larger leap in time, or at least the stage of Aaron and Brad's relationship, between chapters 2 and 3, than between chapters 3 and 4.

I assume Mr Carter was buried in England because he was a British solider rather than a Canadian soldier. I also assume (and I know what assuming is prone to do) for the Jackal to be eligible for a pension as his widow, he had to be buried in England. Thankfully Lucy has none of either parents' closed minded bigotry. Jackie had no cause to be bitter towards Will, she was just a spiteful, nasty bitch, a well suited match for Mr Carter. I assume at the end of this book Will is 26 and Andrew 27 or 28. I now look forward to reading the 2nd book in the series.

The ball of tension settling inside Will became a cold, hard knot of panic. He glanced behind him up the hall, as if he could summon Andrew to rescue him. The urge to just bolt was strong. Too many years of his father's abuse, too many strong memories of the fights, the constant futility of trying to exist in the face of people who felt he didn't have a right to be there. He swallowed, looking nervous. He must have been white as a sheet. She opened her mouth to speak again, and Will was certain of his own impending doom; he expected a "Get out of my house," or "My son is not gay..." even a "Sit down and have a cup of coffee..." Micheline wasn't that kind of woman. "So was he good?" she asked, stirring sugar into her coffee cup, dropping that bombshell as if she were discussing the weather outside. Completely un-fazed by the implications of what she asked. Micheline's response to discovering her son is gay was very surprising, and whilst I, like my fellow readers, found the discussion and her comments very supportive, I found the response in bold text above, to her original question, a little bit creepy, for want of a better word. I found Micheline's comment regarding Will's father having a stroke hilarious. Many people would think that comment tasteless, even if they acknowledged Mr Carter is an arsehole, but I agree with Micheline.

But Channel suited her so much better @Gary L.

I would never have thought to finish this request with "and you are going to have a Merry Christmas", more likely "and then you are going to go fuck off and not speak to us ever again". Brody surprises all again, singing a stirring rendition of his Grandmother's favourite hymn. Although he may refuse to respect all social norms, he is loyal and protective if nothing else, his caring for his ailing Grandmother until the time of her passing remarkable for anyone of any age, but extraordinarily so for a teenage boy.

Excellent "news", a child whose mother has not been able to poison his mind yet, if that is her intention. I am a little concerned Lisa gave Brody an annoyed look when he remarked "Go Captain Backbone" in approval of Jared breaking up with Charlene. I would hope Lisa was at least troubled by Charlene outing Andrew. Surely she is not going to abandon her principles in an attempt to retain her popularity as part of the "cool" girls clique.

Andrew is a born leader, leading by example, putting aside personal differences or grievances for the good of the team. Apart from Jared, the rest of the team are a bunch of knuckle-draggers, just like Turd. Turd with his ego bruised did not even bother to show up. What a loser. It appears Charlene is no better than Jennifer. Hopefully Lisa will voice her displeasure at Charlene's actions by removing herself from the little clique of which Charlene is apparently the leader.

And no tantrums or sense of entitlement or superiority because of their wealth. The visits to the gravesite were moving, with Jamie Jr seemingly the most affected emotionally, or at least the one who demonstrates the emotional effect the most.

Ximo's maternal grandfather is vile, and it appears Ximo's father is in agreement with Ximo's assessment of the old bastard. I suspect Ximo's father may not entirely share the views of his wife's parents and perhaps of his wife too. He surprised me with his knowledge of Ximo's less than stellar attendance and performance at University, particularly given he did not appear overly concerned, having behaved in a similar manner when he was attending University. I am sure it was an unintentional error on your part @Gary L when you described Ximo's grandmother as "mutton dressed as lamb", "attempting to pull off the look of a Channel model". I assume you meant a Chanel model, but Channel model was so much funnier, as I pictured this woman with an arse as big and as rough as the English Channel.

Or farting in bed. Brad has the patience of a saint. Aaron's analysis of every aspect of their lives must surely get exhausting at times. Quirks aside, the relationship between Aaron and Brad does appear to be soundly based and happy.

I too am concerned Will could get brain damage from having been punched in the head by Mr Carter and now by Turd, or worse still drop dead one day when he receives another blow to the head. As for Turd, I imagine his ego has been severely wounded, so he may become even more crazed and violent. I'd suggest he be spayed, but his balls may have shrunk from the steroids he has taken.

I had forgotten to comment previously on Mr Carter's propensity for beating his son. He should have been dismissed from his position and sent to jail. I daresay his position is what protected him, much like priests within the Catholic Church who molested children. So called pillars of society, who believe they have the right to condemn others for alleged immorality because it does not fit within their make believe doctrine. Apart from the Jackal, Mr Carter appears to have earned little respect, at least from his fellow parishioners (not sure if this is the right word).

Would they perhaps not just assume such make up mirrors, make up, clothes and possibly the wigs if found belonged to the cousin? This could also be another reason why Corcoran has slimmed down since Rick knew him five years prior. His female cousin, the perfect disguise as "she" has been seen by the neighbours.

I agree with Graeme. I think a split in the Storm is imminent. If it becomes known Andrew is Will's love interest I imagine many will turn against him and support the knuckle-dragger. Jennifer is a skank through and through. Will is well rid of her. It is unlikely she will be able to con any other male at school into supporting her; perhaps she will give her baby up for adoption.

He would do well in the current "administration", a most suitable candidate with all the prerequisites.

A meal he enjoyed and good company; what more could either Andrew or Will ask from a first date.
