Tony, I appreciate your feedback, but I don't see what Danny and Brandon are doing as over involvement. I can see why you might, but we'll see what happens and how things play out over time.
Friday night, after Brandon and I got home from work, we went to check with Ryan to see if he was packed and ready to leave the following day to go visit Owen.
“Yeah, I’ve put all my clothes and other things in my duffle bag and Noah is going to drive me to the bus station tomorrow morning. I’m really looking forward to seeing Owen again.”
“I’m glad you’re so excited about doing this, but just remember to call when you get there so we’ll know you made it safely.”

Peter, I know this isn't typical, but I was trying to come up with something different for the story. With today's culture of sending nude selfies or performing on camera online, it may not be such a stretch.
I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, Stix, and that you liked the idea of the video. In the US, firework are pretty much a staple on the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve. Thanks for the feedback.
Trey spent Tuesday helping Dad prepare the salads for the cookout we’d be having the following day. The reason it is taking place in the middle of the week is that the Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is one of the few national holidays that’s still celebrated on the actual date. Christmas and New Year’s Day are two more, while Thanksgiving is always held on the fourth Thursday in November, so the date changes every year. All of the other national holidays are celebrated on the Monday closes
Thanks, Xander, but I doubt it will happen. Elliot's going to be a lawyer, so he may handle some of their legal affairs, but that's it. Ian's planning to be a cardiologist, and although he may have some younger patients, the majority will be much older. They may have some contact if they stay in the area, but I doubt they will be very involved.
The following week went by quickly and now we were ready for the weekend again. After dinner on Friday, we threw a small celebration for Elliot’s birthday, because he wanted to wait and have the cake and ice cream on Sunday. Dad made cupcakes for the occasion, and after we sang Happy Birthday to Elliot, he made a wish and blew out the lone candle on his cupcake.
After we enjoyed this little treat, we gave Elliot his presents, but it’s hard to buy something for someone who already has everyt
Thank you for the feedback, flesco. Yes, the twins and Holly seem to be fitting in well and the puppies are a big hit. You'll be hearing more about Elliot and Ian in the very near future and that should explain more about their relationship. I hope you can hang on until then.
I appreciate your viewpoint, but Danny and Brandon are doing what they can. Besides, their mother wants them to spend the time with their new family and become comfortable with them, and there's not a lot they can do for one another at the nursing home. They've all seemed to accept that this is satisfactory for now.
