Sounds like a fun time for the Canadians.
For over a century, Queen Victoria was the longest reigning monarch in Great Britain, at the height of the British Empire. Since the honor of the longest reign has now passed to Queen Elizabeth II, I wonder if there will eventually be a holiday in her honor.
Party Hearty, our neighbors to the north. Happy Victoria Day!
I think you would also be able to draw many of those same conclusions using the works of Charles Dickens too. So much has changed, yet so much has stayed the same, merely in a slightly different form.
Jack, thank you very much for the feedback and your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed this series, even though it wasn't the typical romance story that most readers on this site look for.
I saw this on the news and it's devastating. My prayers go out to the people affected by this disaster. With so many things like this going on in the world right now, due to other natural disasters or warfare, I'm afraid the problem may not get as much attention as it deserves. I'm glad the Canadian government, businesses, educational institutions, and the population are doing their best in this crisis and I send my best wishes to those caught up in this.
Happy Birthday, Comsie, my old friend!
I hope the muse never deserts you and may you celebrate many, many more birthdays!
Enjoy yourself and have a wonderful day!
Very interesting Graeme. Thanks for sharing.
In the peacock video at the bottom, the peacock seemed to be desperately trying to gain the attention of one particular peahen, but she wanted nothing to do with him so he did his dance for the other peahen. If at first you don't succeed, move on to the next available option.
I think I've seen productions of most of Shakespeare's plays (at least all of the famous ones). I've been to Stratford, Connecticut for the Annual Shakespeare Festival, I saw multiple productions when I was in England, and I catch the films and various vids of stage productions whenever possible. He was truly amazing and prolific!
I found this article very interesting.

Loved it! I just wonder how true the story is.
Cynus, the brief synopsis: three African boys living in American being bullied. They attempt to turn the tables but doing something similar to the bully and he comes looking for revenge. Unfortunately, he runs into their mother and she ends up taking the bully down. It was much more elaborate than my retelling, but that's the gist of what it was about.
