  8. i guess u got me wrong there...what i meant by money-less world was that there is no need for ANY kind of money...be it paper, plastic or metal....you see...what i meant was, with a money-less world, the crime rate would reduce considerably---because the reason we commit crimes is to get monetary gains---kleptomania notwithstanding (those ppl will steal come what may). Also, many of the social evils (inequality on the basis of economic status) will be rooted out if there is no money. People with disabilities...who cannot work, may be able to live easily if there were no need for money. I know its a far-fetched situation that all start working for the betterment of humanity....NO ONE WILL...every1 will think let the others work for the betterment, i'll enjoy. Very few ppl work off their free will (read: Enjoying their work). If given an option of a life full of all the basic requirements in life available to them for free, very few will want to work/do a job. So, while it seems a good possibility(read: fantasy), human nature as a whole will not allow it to happen. Disclaimer: I've been very blunt here about human nature...please do not take this personally as i'm talking about the majority and thais is my personal opinion....i may be wrong. LOL hot_bsk aka BeaStKid
  9. Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies around....May each day of the year be a Father's Day to all of you...
  10. there are a few things that i think that may change the way we look at things.... 1. Time travel...in any form. this may include space travel (traveling at a speed gr8er than the speed of light may break the time barrier --- Star Trek---) 2. Finding ET. Space exploration expands...extra terrestrial settlements. 3. Virtual reality like the one in Johnny Quest/ Spy Kids/ Matrix( but not for controlling minds..lol) 4. Advancement in Nano-technology. Imagine a mobile phone with a hologram, GPS, calender, phone book all on your wrist watch. And yeah, it TELLS time too. 5. Advancement in Bio-Technology. like cloning, regeneration, stem cells, etc. 6. Teleporting. God knows how much we need it with the increasing traffic and pollution. 7. The biggest fantasy of them all----- No need for money!!! Think Star Trek again....working for the betterment of humanity....LOL what do you think guys n gals???
  11. guys...U.S is still a bit better. if you come n see the type of laws here in india, u'll rip ur hair away. There's a law which criminalizes contraceptives!!!(it is the same law which criminalizes homosexuality) There's a law which states that the govt can regulate what the people watch on the tele. There's a law which requires a chief of the Punjab Police to report to the Police station in Lahore. The point?? Lahore is NOT in India!! The police, here, is free to put a person in jail; bash him/her up; if it thinks that those people are not being decent enough in public. That's called moral policing, i think. So you see, every country has stupid laws which may or may not be to the liking of some people. But, some of the laws mentioned above are being questioned in the court(the first one is). So, for every stupid man, there is a sensible one too, who counters the formers stupidity. hot_bsk
  12. speaking of wrestlers...what about randy orton, johnny nitro and paul london????
  13. Well...i'm procrastinating on a lot of things right now....I've to water the plants, write the next chapter of my story, clean my room, complete my holiday assignments; the list can go on and on and on...LOL..
  14. Well...the first celebrity crush i had was Kajol....that time i didn't know i was bi(leaning male)....so the first crush on a male celebrity was...i think...Hayden Christensen...he is sooo damn hot!!
  15. i think quite a few viewpoints have been given here...so here is mine-- It all depends...i mean, when we're giving a performance/writing or doing anything which requires a feedback for the first time, it does matter a lot! And i'm speaking from personal experience. I like public speaking. People say i speak well in front of people. The first time i spoke on the stage was when i was in 2nd grade. had i not been appreciated then, i would not have gone ahead and won the best public speaker title in my school in grade 4. Similarly, i posted the first chapter of my very first story a few days back. Had i not received a single positive feedback, i would have never posted another chapter. But, coming back to the point. Once a person is experienced in his/her field, he/she starts taking feedback, +ve or -ve, with a pinch of salt and strives to do better. Hence, i feel all types of feedbacks are necessary as it gives a person humility to understand that he can improve a lot. Further, the first positive feedback, as i mentioned earlier, is very important. I learnt this in the workshop i'm attending that one should never shy away from appreciating good things and also not be offended by what others think of you (It's a presonality development class, btw). So, adopt a happy-go-lucky attitude and be merry...Damn the others who say you aren't good, 'cause YOU know you are. But don't damn the ones who give comments and are experienced enough to be your great grandfather in that field....LOL hot_bsk
  16. Man you have Balls!!!(with a capital B as u can see it) before even knowing that your best friend was indeed gay, you came out to him!! That takes a lot of guts! Kudos to you, dude! If i were in your situation, i would never have been able to muster up the courage to tell my best friend that i'm bi, let alone tell him that i'm in love with him. There is this one guy i like a lot, but i can't tell him b'cause i don't know how he'll react. plus i don't know if he's gay/bi or not. Living in a country full of prejudices has instilled this fear in me. I congratulate you once again on your courage. I really do hope that things work out between the two of you...eventually...lol.. Cheers!! hot_bsk
  17. i was just passing by and saw this forum and couldn't resist posting something in it.. According to me, looks do matter, but they are not the ONLY thing that matter. What i mean to say is that for me an attractive person would not only be physically attractive, but would be a good human being as well. Funny, outgoing, caring, supportive are some(very few) qualities that make the person's personality attractive overall. I knew a girl who was a walking bomb!! I mean, half the school had asked her out. But, she could not keep a guy for long. the longest she kept one was for 2 weeks. the reason why she was a failure in keeping her boys to herself was her attitude. She had such a cocky/narcissist type attitude, that no self respecting boy came near her once he got to know her well. So, the gist is, beauty comes in a package; either you have it all, or you have none. I always stated that i'd rather compromise on the looks(a little) than on the personality. Just my two cents... hot_bsk
  18. Attachments are very difficult to make and more difficult to forget. Once you are attached to a person emotionally, you put a lot at stake. This fear drives a lot of people away from getting attached with people. But my question is..Why see the end of attachments?? Have we ever sat down and thought about all those wonderful memories we spent with the person we are attached to. When we see it in this perspective, saying goodbyes would be less difficult. Because, the joys that being attached to someone can give, cannot be substituted. Being hurt is a part and parcel of love and attachment. But we must learn to not let that hurt affect us negatively and move on. I would never shy away from becoming attached to a person i genuinely care for. Well, those were my two cents..
  19. I totally agree with you Gary...I've seen alcoholism at its worst in my family. Trust me it has totally devastated the very essence of what we base a family upon.. Light drinking is welcome, but when it gets out of hand is a big NO.. So to all the youngsters (like me) I learnt the lesson by seeing someone ruin his life(n ours too)...I hope you learn it without these ordeals..(I'm getting too preachy here...Sorry, the topic is quite close to my heart. )
