  1. Wait. Is Philip the blond? If he is, bah. I like the other one better
  2. Cocky? Nah. I don't think so. I think he was just confident in his ability to sing. He thought he sounded good, Simon didn't. I didn't either. But gah! He's so ridiculously good looking. I'd keep him on the show just for aesthetic purposes. Danny's performance wasn't impressive at all. I agree with Simon in that if you're going to choose an Elvis song, please don't butcher it. And that's exactly what Danny did. Butcher the song. Colton? Bah. Wasn't very interesting. Honestly, besides the three that I listed as my top three, the guys' performances tonight were boring and uninteresting. Nothing special about them. Maybe they'll be better next week, but I'm not putting much stock in that. I can't wait for tomorrow to see the girls' performances. Judging by the auditions, I think there is some pretty good talent in their group.
  3. I agree. However, I'm with Shadowgod on this one. I have absolutely no problem with capital punishment when it comes to adults. Adults should just know better. But with kids? With 14-year-olds? Absolutely not. I have a problem with throwing away 14-year-olds like wasted trash into the gutters of the capital punishment system. They're kids, for Christ's sake! Do they know better? Probably not. Obviously the kid must have been in an abnormal state of mind to even consider killing his classmates. Why not try to fix it? Why give up?
  4. I disagree. While I do prefer scripted television shows over reality TV, there are still some entertaining reality shows out there. Generally, I like watching the competitions like Survivor, Amazing Race, American Idol, Project Runway, etc.
  5. Based on tonight's performances, here are my top 3: 1. David Archuleta 2. Michael Johns 3. Jason Castro (Or maybe Jason Castro and then Michael Johns) Colton and Danny are definitely gay. Based on tonight's performances, here are who I think will be eliminated: 1. Garrett Haley (I swear, he looks like a girl) 2. Tie between Jason Yeager & Luke Menard (Anyone else just baffled by how good looking he is???)
  6. Ehh. Well, unfortunately, politicians feel that it is necessary for them to stay closeted in order to be able to be elected. The reason they do this is because they feel that the people won't elect a gay man to office. And unfortunately, this almost always seems to be the case. What needs to happen is that there needs to be more openly gay & lesbian public figures. Not just celebrities, but people in government as well. The more openly gay people there are in office, the more people will start accepting it. But, alas, that's a long time from coming. We haven't even elected a woman or black president yet. Although, I'm betting that we'll have either one next year
  7. Has it really been that long since an update? Wow.
  8. Yes, they're expensive. My school offers discounted tickets, but they're still around $50 and the seats are the worst seats in the entire theater. And on a college student budget, $50 is way too expensive. I'd rather pay an extra $40 for better seats than the last row of the upper balcony (that's where I sat for both Spring Awakening and Spamalot) So, I'm saving up some money. Hopefully I'll be able to see something soon. But I guess I could always rush the shows. Problem is, some of them you have to wake up extremely early just to get some tickets...
  9. I joined his group so that I could get updates as soon as the latest chapter comes out. I was browsing through his other work and stumbled across an empty folder. It's description was that it was to be the sequel of Cross Currents. This drove me crazy. I'm already itching to find out what's going to happen next, and then I find out that there's a sequel so that means something must happen at the end, something that would justify a sequel, but then I don't know what that something is and...Gah! I just hope I don't have to wait several months for the next chapter to come out.b
  10. I read it before, and loved it. I too recommend this story.
  11. There really is no preference for me. They're just people who I happen to like. Thus, they're my friends. Their sexual orientation doesn't factor into who I prefer to be friends with. Although, I must admit that I am much more comfortable talking to girls who I've never met before than talking to guys who I've never met before. I'm more comfortable talking to girls in general. And a gay guy friend? Never had one. The only problem with straight guy friends is that there's always the potential for me to become attracted to them, and that leads to a whole bunch of problems. But that's a different matter
  12. Considering how I've never been in a gay relationship...Or any relationship for that matter, I can't say anything
  13. Ehh. The movie was definitely fun to watch. Robert De Niro was surprisingly good as a gay pirate. Claire Danes is beautiful as ever. Michelle Pfeiffer did a good job being the big, bad witch. And Charlie Cox is just hot. Both before and after (oh, especially after ) his transformation. Yeah. The movie was fun. But it was one of those movies that after I saw it, I was like, "Why did I just watch that?" Although, I'd watch it again just to see Charlie Cox
  14. I was just wondering if anyone here has seen any Broadway musicals, and if so, which ones are their favorites. Personally, I've seen Spring Awakening and Monty Python's Spamalot. I really enjoyed both. Spring Awakening though, is my favorite out of the both. I wanna see Jersey Boys next, but damn. The tickets are crazy expensive.
  15. Haha! Yes! I was waiting for the day when Federer lost. And it has finally arrived
  16. As soon as I found out, I turned to the news channels...It's disgusting. I couldn't watch it. They're focusing on the drugs and calling it a possible suicide. They already have psychologists/psychiatrists on the phone explaining the use of the different drugs found near his body. CNN already has a "close" friend of Heath's giving insight on what kind of person he was. I know he was a famous figure, but give him a break. We just found out that he was dead, and already the media is playing it up. What bothers me, is that there are some people out there who only care about the fact that he finished his work on the new Batman movie. Besides that, they don't care if he's dead or alive. It's sick.
  17. That's terrible. I can't believe he's dead...
  18. Oh, with that said, there are TONS of good gay-themed short films. Just not feature films.
  19. Can anyone recommend to me some good gay-themed films? With the exception of Brokeback Mountain, I have not seen a single good gay-themed movie. None that was well written. None that was well acted. None that was well directed. And it's depressing! And not just any gay-themed movie either. I'm looking for positive films. Films about people falling in love and living happily ever after and whatnot. While Brokeback Mountain was an excellent movie, it was terribly heartbreaking and devastating. It was one of the saddest movies I've seen. And it seems like many of the gay-themed movies that I have seen that were even moderately good have focused more on gay tragedy than on anything positive. I just finished watching one. Defying Gravity, I think it's called. It's a relatively positive film. But it's a terrible movie. The acting was terrible. The writing was terrible. The directing was terrible. But it's still one of the better ones that I've seen, but that's not saying much... Do you guys have any suggestions? Or any comments on the lack of quality positive gay films?
  20. I'd definitely read the book. I just came back from an early screening of the movie tonight and I was very happy with the movie. I thought it was very well done and it stayed true to the book. I was actually very surprised by how close they kept to the book. The acting was excellent, and it is an emotional movie as well. I'd definitely recommend watching the movie as well. But I'd say read the book first.
  21. Luc has a short story like this. I Forgot the name though. But it's really good.
  22. Nevermind. I read everything. And I'm happy
  23. Do Will and Andrew get back together in the end? You don't have to post it here, you can message the answer to me. I just want to know because, while I have nothing against Marc, it's hard to for me to continue reading when all I see is Will/Marc and not Will/Andrew...
  24. I like ITFB. Mainly because we get to read the thoughts of more of our favorite characters, instead of just one.
  25. The fact that Quinn whined a lot was what endeared the character to me. Personally, it's tiring reading of characters like Owen or Rory (although I like them both). Mainly because they're just so normal.
