  1. Pfsh. Hardly. That movie has two things that I find lacking in many gay films: good acting AND good writing. Not either/or. For many films, it's just eye candy, but no substance.
  2. Have you ever wondered what Aladdin would look like half-naked? Well... http://morgenfiles.blogspot.com/2008/02/thursday-13-disney-heroes.html WARNING: Link is NSFW. And if your boss catches you on it, he'll probs think you're really weird. Enjoy!
  3. The episode with Kristin Chenoweth wasn't that great, IMO, and I was kinda disappointed. But it picked up again with the newest one. Everyone on that show has won me over, except for Mr. Schuester. I can never take him seriously. Oh, and it's def Puck and Kurt.
  4. So I finally saw Plata Quemada and I HIGHLY recommend it to those who haven't seen it already. The movie isn't perfect. Some plot holes and some confusion as to each characters' motivations, but what really keeps the movie running is the relationship between the two leads. Both guys are very hot, and bring so much intensity to their roles. It's easily one of the best gay relationships I've seen in a movie. And these guys are badass! Argentinean bank robbers, wielding sub machine guns and firing at a huge crowd of police officers. I wish there were more movies like this, where the lead(s) happen to be gay, but tough, macho and kickass. It'd do a lot to combat stereotypes of gay men here in the U.S. The acting was great too. Too often in gay-themed movies here in the U.S., the acting is just terribly awful and takes away from the entire movie. This is primarily the reason why I prefer foreign gay films. The acting is usually way better, and this movie was no exception. Again, HIGHLY recommend that you guys watch this. It'll be well worth your time.
  5. I admit, after watching the movie, I didn't know what to think of it. It's a very well made movie, and I feel like I'll really enjoy it the second time around. That one scene, where the guys are punching each other...So much homoerotic tension that I was half expecting all three of them to start ripping each others' clothes off.
  6. And the next episode that's yet to air in the U.S. will be introducing Lancelot. Santiago Cabrera from Heroes! Another reason for me to watch this show
  7. Aah, yes. It's a BBC show. That means NBC can't cancel it. Gotta get me some BBC.
  8. Really? Athur's hot. Merlin's cute. And considering they're the two male leads, I'm pretty happy with the arrangement Morgana isn't a very good actress, and some parts of the show are incredibly cheesy and awkward. Overall though, it's a fun story and fun to watch. I'm glad it's a mini series. Less chance that NBC will pull the plug early like they did with other shows that I enjoyed.
  9. I'll be listening to MJ's songs nonstop over the weekend, in memory of him. I've been meaning to get myself acquainted with his music, since the few that I've heard, I've loved. Never got a chance to when he was alive.
  10. Well, since you said that you were 'almost scared' to have me read the ending, I read the ending anyway, and my suspicions were correct. I think I won't read this series anymore. Don't get me wrong, I really like your stuff (big fan of 'The Gunroom' and 'The Wardroom'), but I have never disliked a main character as much as I dislike JP. It's off the charts. But yeah, off topic.
  11. Okay, I give up. Jeff and JP not together? Nuh uh. Not after what I went through to see them get together. At the moment, I can't stand JP. So I'm leaving this story and waiting a while til I pick it up again.
  12. So I haven't gotten this far in the series yet. I'm still reading '1968', but I really hope that JP grows out of this stupid attitude that he always gets and realizes that everything isn't about him. For example, when Jeff says he wanted to go through rehabilitation alone, w/o JP. Now JP is hurt, and angry, and whatnot. It's driving me insane. I almost want to stop reading because I cannot stand his whining. Suck. It. Up! Jeff wants to do this alone. Support him in his decisions and stop acting like a spoiled brat. Okay. Just needed to say that. Great story, by the way.
  13. Spring Awakening was the very first show I saw on Broadway. I had bought the CD recording a month prior and had listened to it nonstop. I loved the CD, and the play was much more than I expected. I was just blown away by the entire production. Saw Spamalot next. Hilarious. It's disappointing how few Broadway shows I've seen, considering my proximity to the Great White Way.
  14. Excellent choice. There are waaay too many male celebs out there that I could put down, but my current crush is: Sean Maher Who's main claim to fame was Josh Whedon's cult hit 'Firefly'.
  15. I think it's funny how we're all judging a guy that we don't even know. Regardless, I'll continue to watch his movies because I like him as an actor. I don't understand people who don't go to see a certain movie just because of the actor's personality. Like Tom Cruise, for example. So what if he's a whacko. He's still a good actor (better than most out there) and makes entertaining movies.
  16. Hah. I have a thread? Thanks guys ^^
  17. A song from a movie that I saw recently called 'Were the World Mine'. I didn't end up liking the movie, just the music in it (and the guys ). Regardless, this song which, oddly enough, takes most of its lyrics from Shakespeare, could be my gay anthem. Oh, and ignore the lady singing. She's annoying. The guy singing is much better.
  18. You wait. It'll come. Of course, you have to be open to it. You can't be a recluse and expect to still have a love life.
  19. James Franco = HOT. He goes to my school and every day, I resist the temptation to just camp out in front of one of the school buildings and stalk him.
  20. Saw the short-film version of this one a year ago, and wasn't too impressed by it. But I'm looking forward to this one. I'll be seeing it this weekend, hopefully.
  21. Aah, Dumbledore. Michael Gambon will never be as good as Richard Harris, IMO. Gambon completely ruined the movie version of Dumbledore. Well, you can never be sure with trailers. I've come to realize that a lot of the scenes that are included in trailers don't end up being in the theatrical version. Instead, you'll find those scenes in the Deleted Scenes section of the DVD.
  22. I've come to realize that too. Foreign gay-themed films are generally much better than films made in the U.S. And thanks for the suggestions, guys. Latter Days...Didn't like it. Saw only a few minutes and the wooden acting was enough to turn me off. Saw a little of Dante's Cove. Again, the acting was terrible. I've got 'Plata Quemada' and 'La Mala Educaci
  23. I was sooooooooo excited for Shelter, and couldn't wait for the DVD to come out...So I went found a website that had a pirated version. Haha. I was disappointed. Sure, the guys were hot, but beyond that, there was nothing about the movie that stood out. Below mediocre, I'd say.
  24. This movie will be the first of Star Trek that I will see. Not much of a Star Trek fan, but JJ Abrams has never disappointed me (LOST!). Looking forward to seeing this movie. Plus, Chris Pine as Captain Kirk = HOT.
  25. Actually, in the HBP movie, there's a scene in which Hermione, Ron, and Harry are discussing his decision to go after Voldemort. You can see it very briefly in the trailer (or, at least, hear it). Hermione says to Harry, "You can't do this alone." or something to that effect. I'm assuming that's in response to Harry's insistence on going after Voldemort. The only thing I'm angry about is that they pushed back the movie to next year. I understand that they want to make money, but seriously? I could do w/o all the hullabaloo over the dreadfully-written Twilight.
