  1. I voted for "No, I had straight crushes, but I've always been careful to just keep it at crushes" But it's not that i'm 'careful' it's just that i'm realistic but a little crush is fine And what Ieshwar says about real love being 'over', i've got to agree, i still think about my first love, more than i should i think and i'd say there's certainly still love there... even though i've now been in love with my second love for over 2 years! I don't think he'd appreciate knowing i still have strong feelings for my first love... but, anyway, I don't really fall in love with anyone i don't know very well already, so i'd hopefully know they were gay before i started letting myself (all hypothetical, of course) Matt
  2. The ruins are of Whitby Abbey Matt has family there, and it's a really lovely place, Whitby is FULL of Dracula-esque stuff.. which is interesting too! and thanks
  3. here's a couple of me me and my best friend Charlotte out walking and me and my boyfriend Matt (yes it's SO confusing having the same name!) in Yorkshire and France!
  4. ok... I can come! Any of those dates sounds fine And Cardiff sounds great to me! But if anyone would prefer somwhere else, i don't mind rail, road and air links to Cardiff are good... I know dalmatia would be coming from Wales, what about everone else? vague locations of course Matt
  5. I can see no reason why I can't come "sometime between the 31st of March and the 22nd of April" seems fine too, as i've nothing concrete planned for those dates York's miles away from me... but so are most places, unless it's held in Cardiff.... which would be a lovely venue, it being a European Capital of culture etc, and has a nice selection of gay nightlife etc etc. I've not got a lot of experience of London, but i do know that it's a nightmare to get to by car, and is massive, so a smaller city might be an idea? Bristol? Cardiff as i mentioned? York or Leeds i guess... but i've never been to either of them... Shall we see who's likely to attend... then find somewhere fairly central? Matt x
  6. I voted Yes, as i would use one, if it were here, i doubt i'd be a 'regular' it would all depend on how bored i was i guess... I certainly think it's a good idea to have one though as said above, far easier to make friends and get to know others than in the forum Matt x
  7. Before i joined as a member, i lurked as a guest for months, and after reading a few stories i found through GA, i decided to join, as it seemed a lovely community i mainly only post on topics that i feel i need to comment on, or give my opinion... but as I don't read all that regularly, I've not often got anything to say about stories (I get all emotional reading most of them, and my boyfriend hates it)
  8. Just seen that too - Guess they had a few complaints
  9. BBC Radio 1 has banned the word "faggot" from the Pogues' 1987 Christmas hit Fairytale of New York to avoid offence. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7149525.stm There really is no need for that! What are you guys' thoughts?

if he doesnt get the grades for Cardiff Uni, there's always UWIC and i do some work for a landlord in Cardiff, so if you need a flat - i might be able to find you a nice cheap one AND there's a good selection of gay nightlife here too, which is always good, if you're into that kinda thing (My boyfriend goes occasionally, but i haven't been for months!) he says it's great fun

that's what i thought Cardiff's a great place to live dude such a compact city, none of this taking hours to get across town! and an awesome place to go to uni if you need any help with the 'issue' in the teen forum, i'm only down the road, i'm sure your mates will have your back though Matt
  13. i watched sommersturm on youtube believe it or not (!) and loved it! have been meaning to buy the dvd ever since! i saw History Boys in the theatre too! with different actors, but it was even better 'live'

I'm from Wales too, Cardiff to be more specific, the capitol city... plenty of shops, bars, clubs, nightlife.. don't often use them though i prefer the countryside! I absolutely love it here, the weather has it's ups and downs, as weather does but i'm never bored, I've not spent much time in North Wales, but south and mid Wales are beautiful, the mountains, lakes, scenery. But then i am quite an 'outdoorsy' guy, i like to moutain bike, and we go waterskiing on a Lake in mid wales regularly, so i get to drive and walk and cycle through a lot of the most rural places. True it rains a fair bit, but if you concentrate on the good weather, you forget about the rain I'd love to (and fully intend to) travel to the states, canada, austrailia and all over europe(some more!) but i think i'd miss the UK so much if i moved away, me and my boyfriend are looking for our first house at the moment, and we've decided we want to live ruraloly, but not more than 50miles or so from Cardiff, as all our family live around here, and we'd just be a lot happier living near family and friends, but whether we decide to live in England or Wales (we're quite near the border) it wont matter to us, some parts of England can be just as beautiful if not more than Wales. here's a few photos of Wales i've taken anyway, just cos i love photos! sorry for dragging up an old thread
  16. A few of my favourites: Little miss sunshine My House in Umbria Driving Lessons Mr & Mrs Smith The transporter (not yet seen no.2, must buy it) Mrs Henderson Presnets Keeping Mum About a Boy Love Actually History Boys Quite a lot of British films there.. but then.. i am British I just bought Transofrmers, Spidey3 and The Bourne Ultimatum - LOVED them all I have to agree that Mysterious skin is quite a disturbing film, a few scenes in it really shocked me. L.I.E. i enjoyed, but as mentioned earlier, it's very... on the edge... in a grey area. But i'd certainly reccomend it Matt
  17. I'm another 'eldest son' the oldest of three sons... so 2%, i WAS lucky! And i'm fairly sure neither of my little brothers are gay... hmmmm interesting stuff. I'm straight acting 90% of the time, extreme sports, cars, gadgets, action movies etc, and when i tell people i'm gay, most are very surprised... but i still like 'chick flicks' and feminine stuff too.. but then i do all the work on my own cars, engines etc i don't see being gay as 'who' i am, just a small part of my life, just like having curly hair.. or whatever, but then again, i don't believe it's competely genetic... hmmm, i guess we're just left with more questions *sigh* Matt x
  18. Thanks Jack! i'll check out those next them - just started Life's a Grind - on chap 2 so far Matt
  19. Hey everyone, i joined back in January when i was reading After We Danced, A Song For Guy and Thompsonville, can't remember how i stumbled upon the site, i guess i was just looking for more great stories to read! After i'd finished reading Forever on a Tree last summer, i thought i'd never find anything that i'd enjoy so much, and that was so emotional (my boyfriend hated (hates) me reading these, i always get far too emotional ) But anyway - I read Sky's the Limit by captainrick, just finished it - absolutely adored it :-) so yeah, i'm Matt, from Wales, UK - Hi xx
