  1. Ok, I admit, it was. LOL I'm not really very punny. BTW, Hollaburoo.. dashing! Seriously!
  2. Menzo, I think you missed the 'a' in the first line. The poem... describes a lot of us. How fear turns us into monsters. How it drives away others and lead us deeper into loneliness. Scared at first by childish things. Then finally scared by our own fears. I love it. I've felt this way before (and sometimes, even now). We're all running away from something. P.S. It's funny that I actually have a series entitled "Running". Heh
  3. LOL, I actually just looked up the drow phrases heh. I have only read one RA Salvatore book ever, and it wasn't set in the forgotten realms universe. No drow But I play a lot of dungeons and dragons games. And I really like the artist who does the cover designs for RA Salvatore's books. I know. I don't like Dan Brown that much actually, though when I first read The Da Vinci Code, I really liked it. The fact that he claims everything is true, however, was way too much to claim, even for gullible moi. LOL. RE: Angels and Demons, yeah Antimatter? But yes, it was captivating. I liked the fact that I didn't even notice that the title of the book itself was an ambigram when I first started reading it. LOL. It was only when I encountered the description of the first ambigram in the book that I did a double take and peeked back at the cover. He may be a charlatan, but he's still an awesome writer. Heh Oh yeah, add this to my list: Robert Fulghum - Everything I ever needed to Know I learned in Kindergarten!
  4. Are you sure he's a boy then?! LOL j/k Congrats!
  5. Surprisingly, no. LOL. I suck more at being an underling (I'm sooo lazy when it's someone else who tells me to do things). I was once pretty active back in high school. Editor-in-chief, rank of captain in the Citizen Army Training (kinda like High School ROTC), the unofficial leader of the nerdy boys group (LOL), vocalist in our band, class officer, and I oversaw several events (united nations celebrations, JS decorations, etc). I always get picked to do decorations, costumes, and stuff. >.< But then again, I've been artistic since as far back as I could remember. Personal organisation is something else though. LOL. My room looks like a tornado was just there yesterday. The person below me has been bitten by a wild animal larger than a rat at least once.
  6. There once was a 4 headed giant whose names were Jup, Grit, Kay, and Nigel. They lived on a planet far from our own, quite by themself. This was a good thing because they didn't appreciate company. That is, unless the heads were fighting with each other. And oh, how they would fight, especially the one female self, Kay, who always felt she was outnumbered and ignored by her three brother selfs. Kay sometimes wished that her brothers were girls. Alas, that was not to be; she would have to make do. One day, their occasionally tranquil life was shattered by the arrival of a stranger. It was a human, a human male, a young man. He was an ugly fragile little creature, but Kay didn't mind, because he wore a pink tutu. She turned to her brother selfs, "Oh, look, look, guys, one of those ugly little human things, and he's all dressed up, so let's make him dance for us!"At first her brothers did not want the human to dance , they wanted to shatter him into pieces. Kay though, had a plan to make her brothers agree with her. Like the females of most species, she had a talent that let her get her way with her brothers, to get around whatever it was that they wanted to do but that she didn't agree with. But they had to wait till next morning to carry out their plan, because it started to rain. "Does it always rain like this?" the young man asked as he shook the water from his tutu. The four heads looked between themselves, and simultaneously broke into roaring laughter. "What's so funny?" the young man asked. "It's YOU!" bellowed Jup, Grit, and Nigel through their laughter, while Kay shrieked in merriment. The man turned red for a moment then burst into tears at their derisive laughter. "Oh, poor widdle baby, you embarrassed by your widdle pink tutu, BECAUSE YOU OUGHTA BE!" Kay roared. The man started sobbing harder, trying to bunch the tutu behind his knees to hide it. "It's too late to hide it now, besides I think it's kind of cute" Kay told the man. "Do you really think so?" the man asked, a hopeful expression warring against the pain of being ridiculed as he looked up at the four-headed giant. "Yes, you are wearing the cutest pink tutu in existence," she replied gleefully. Grit and Nigel sniggered, since they suspected what Kay was planning, while poor Jup just looked confused. Kay shushed her brothers and motioned the sniffling man closer. Trying not to snicker, she asked the young man, who she realized as he got closer was just a boy, probably a human teen (which explained why he was so ugly and fragile looking, like all human teenage boys were), "Why don't you do a little dance for us, we haven't been entertained for..." she looked at her brothers, then with what she hoped was a kind, expectant expression, back at the boy, "...for at least, oh, 50 years, or maybe even more, please, pretty please, for me?" "But I don't know how to dance, not really," said the young man with a forlorn sniff. Kay expressed disbelief. "Why else would you be wearing that gorgeous pink tutu?" Blushing, the young man answered: "I lost a bet." "OH?" roared Grit with fire in his eyes (causing the young man to quake with fear), "then perhaps you'd better STOP COWERING and TELL US RIGHT NOW if coming here and DISTURBING US was also part of the BET you LOST!" The young man, terrified, turned and ran. But an old tree trunk, planted many years before the giants' birth, stopped the young man's sudden attempt to fly. A thick tangle of roots appeared out of nowhere and enveloped the vicinity of the giants' cave, trapping the now thoroughly frightened young man.
  7. The excitement mounts. 6 more months! LOL But yeah Rakuten. Mom comes first. Ahoy captainrick! Yonder pistol looks mighty dangerous.
  8. menzo: I knew it! Udos zhal tlu abbilen, cal abbil! Lloth tlu malla. sacha: Actually, I find Deception Point pretty shallow. From a scientific point of view (I'm an amateur fossil collector), it's totally implausible. I liked Angels and Demons though, better than The Da Vinci Code.
  9. LOL. Some people just fit in the stereotypes too well.
  10. Paree! One of my sisters has been there. Urban or Rural?
  11. Celldweller - Afraid This Time wubem! P.S. <3 3eb too.
  12. Corvus. You should link us to EFiction instead. LOL. Anyway, it's beautiful in a gritty, grungy, modern way. It reminds me of the opening scenes of certain movies. In which you get a short film sequence of the locality and the time of the year. I can almost feel the snow coming in.
  13. what happened to my post? REPOST: 1) Lengthening the "View Recent Stories" list (Or making it possible to list ALL stories by date submitted/edited). The current list leaves a lot of earlier stories missed and unread. Since authors are constantly adding to it. 2) Honestly, posting in the Archives gives your story much better chances at being read than posting it in EFiction. A fact I've noted since my story 'Happiness' was first posted in the Archives and then in EFiction. The browsing in the Archives is just much easier. 3) Fixing the view by rating/view by characters/view by genres etc. dropdown boxes. They don't do anything at all. :S 4) Making the layout reader-friendly. The current layout is not conducive to reading onscreen. The body of the story is squeezed between two panels, and as such, you have to constantly scroll down. Personally, I've always used the printer-friendly version instead of the normal layout, since it's easier to read. 5) The top tens don't give top tens at all. :S Might be because several stories are tied? 6) Hmmm... I dunno. Making the browse by category the default welcome page? So the user will select which browsing style he likes the most early on? I'm not too sure about this. 7) Last of all... fixing the login so you don't have to check the remember me option. LOL That's all I could think of for now.
  14. LMAO You could be an awesome storyteller! I agree 'Je t'aime' makes me tingle everywhere. 'Te quiero' too. 'Ti amo' is actually Italian, but I don't pretend to be an expert since there are a lot of variations within Spanish - Castilian (with the distinctive 'th' sound for 'z'), Catalan, Galician, etc. 'Te amo' is too formal for everyday use. It's like saying 'I loveth thee' in English. LOL
  15. That was funny! It's kinda heartwarming to see that kind of friendship between two 'bands'. Panic! at the Disco guys are really cute. ^^
