Ah Cool, Trebs has an avatar. That's Ballad, isn't it? Anyways, back to the blogs: Recent comments is good as well, but it's no substitute for a proper forum IMO. Also, blog comments are not searchable too, or at least they weren't so yesterday. If you're going to tweak the blog, would it be possible to make the comments searchable?

Mmm... chaps and spurs. Heh, and as you said Dan, it's always fun to stir up the forums every now and again. Otherwise, the place just plain ol' boring... and who (besides Dom's fans) would want to hang out in a boring place?

It's OK Jole. Dan doesn't want a forum specially dedicated to him as well, and his reasons are in the first post of this thread. The reason why he started this poll was to: 1. halt everyone asking him privately for a forum dedicated to himself. I believe he was getting at least one a day since that comment I made in his post, and he's been a bit miffed by all that. 2. increase poster discussion OUTSIDE the Dom forums. The fact that you are posting here is proof enough that he's succeeding. 3. stroke his own ego by demanding 100 more "Yes" votes than "No" votes. Well, that and to ensure that the additional work involved in "maintaining" a forum isn't "wasted" by having it open to only a handful of people. That's good and all, I guess. The original reason I suggested that Dan should have a forum is so that the readers who want to post threads like "Why is Davey's mom such a bitch?" and "Whose funeral was it in Chapter 16?", for example, have currently no place to post them. Sure, they can be posted as comments to the blogs, but it gets confusing in there. Likewise, posting them in The Cafe is not going to get as much response as posting them in a forum dedicated to Dan's stories. But at the end of the day, it's up to Dan. On one hand, he wants more fan discussions, but on the other hand, he's stifling discussion IMO, by not having a forum for his stories.

Well, I have a few more hours until we get Chapter 17... so...

Quick question for Dan: If I created over 100 new accounts and vote yes on the poll, will we get the forum? That thought did cross my mind though I doubt I'll be doing it anytime soon.

Oooh, I forgot my editor was busy today... you guys just have to wait an additional day for Chapter 2. It's boring though, but since I need to set the scene for future chapters, it's a necessary evil.

Introduce ourselves? Uh.... urm.... Hello. My name is Novelty and I'm a Danaholic. Thanks to Dan, I'm now attempting to write my own story. I'm also filling in as the editor to GhostRider's Kombat Kids for the time being. I hope someone has 15 points for a Danaholic like me. Next?

This is my first attempt at a story here, and I know Myr and Dan is probably sticking 6 inch needles in a Skeletor action figure with my name written in blood on the back or something. Anyways, I've been told to post the comments here. Holland is actually a lakeside town on the "main" peninsula of Michigan... and by lakeside I mean Lake Michigan. Michigan actually has shores of 4 of the 5 Great Lakes and Lake St. Clare as well... The state, was mostly settled by people of Dutch origin, so it's no surprise to find a town named Holland there. I've also been asked what the foreign sounding stuff meant. Losely translated, it says "Good day, ma'am. Farewell." I'm not giving away what language that is yet, for that would be an important part of the main plot (if I ever get that far). Would anyone like to see more, or should I just not bother? I know I'm not Dan or Dom Doh! Missed this... The story can be found in this forum thread.

Hey Ben. Don't mind Dan there, he's just weird these days. I don't think he can deal with the pressure that the Danaholics is putting on him so he's going a bit crazy. Oh where was I? Yeah, enjoy the forums and feel free to be yourself around here.

Heh, the site went down in 2003 which took the winds from my sails from it. I went on to work on another site. When I finally got the main site to work again, I really didn't feel like updating it, so I let it lie fallow for a while... Parts of the website though is still alive with activity - last I checked, it was averaging 20 unique hits and 200 page views a day - although it's not connected to the rest of the duchy. I've got my fingers in way too many pies. If you are really that bored PWS, log onto MSN or AIM and join the Danaholics chat - it seems to have become a regular thing after last weekend... we've had it everyday this week so far...
