Henry wasn't the only one going straight for the kill shot. The trigger warning had me tiptoeing towards every paragraph with a sense of doom and it still took me by surprise. That email notification that MrsG posted a new chapter did not disappoint. What a great chapter and start to what I foresee being an excellent story. Glad to see you're back.

Great first chapter.

What a ride. I won't review the original story but the epic-logue alone is well written with lots of highs, low, shocking surprises, and emotional tornados. In the end we have a fantastic story with the hope of more to come.

Bravo. This was a perfect ending to great story. Thank you!

What a feast. Truly remarkable chapter with everything I wanted and more. This is what sets you apart, MrsG. You see the full scope. I'm beyond impressed right now. I know there is still another chapter left and so much can be covered and yet you could easily end the entire story with this chapter and I wouldn't feel like you missed a single thing (except maybe his parents dying). The only thing better than the chapter were the comments. Your readers insight are the side dishes that make the entrée that much more appealing.- 134 comments

Holy smokes. I was prepared for several scenarios but this was not one of them. You bombed me out of left field. The things Loren must think. How glad are we that he's not as insecure as he was 10 years ago? I can't fathom what this would have done to him pre-Jay. Another amazing chapter. Thank you so much for continuing this. I too am a Rob Stone vote.

What a satisfying chapter. I loved it from beginning to end. When I binge read the main story I wished Lars was a more prominent character. I should have trusted you. I think you've struck up a really solid and realistic balance. It makes sense that Loren would hold that part of him a little closer to his chest. It also makes sense that Lars wouldn't want to be in the limelight like his brother. I think they have a very genuine, authentic, and intentional relationship. We might not see Lars all the time, but when we do, it's impactful. I love the giggling from across the campsite, there is nothing quite like the way kids react when they see their parents. It makes you feel like a million bucks. Again, you managed to sprinkle in tidbits of reality that make these characters so believable and their lives so relatable. It's the reason we keep coming back for more. My two cents on what Rob Possible found....I bet they've been using Loren without his permission. I could see them writing a book and trying to profit off everything. They would want to make themselves look good, and that would be the best way to do it while profiting greatly.

LOVED IT! So much emotion through the entire chapter. Absolute perfection. I really wish we were getting twice weekly chapters but I won't press our luck.

Twins! I did not see that coming. I should have! But I didn't. This chapter was a perfect start and I imagine the roller coaster is only just starting. Thank you SO MUCH for creating such amazing work. We are truly blessed. - Ben

A true must read. I don't know what you call it, it's not coming of age and it's not love at first sight. It's the rocky beginnings that eventually bring two people together. Someone called it "Classic" MrsG and that's absolutely correct. If you've read her other stuff, then you know it will be good. Great characters, great story line, great dialogue.

I think this comment makes a really great point. This story really does have a great twist on classic tropes such as age difference and who has the power. It's done so naturally. Sometimes I read stories where the younger person is an "alpha" or whatever and it always feels forced. This didn't seem weird or awkward. I really enjoyed it. The character development was well done considering it's a shorter than your normal stories. Of course, classic MrsGnomie humor. Had me laughing throughout.

First story from this author and still one of my favorites. As I read her newer stories, I can see she has grown as an author but I thin this story is foreshadowing her raw talent. Colin and Charlie are dynamic and I love how things shift between them as the story unfolds. You think you have these two men pegged but you don't. A story of love, but more than that it's a story of self discovery and meeting someone who challenges everything you thought you new about yourself and who you want to be.

I've read all your stories on another site and followed you over here when I heard you're exclusively posting more chapters to my favorite story. Some how this story got missed. I'm so glad I found it here. It was absolutely amazing. I went through all the emotions as Donavan and Shane figured their shit out. Being emotionally invested isn't anything new with your stories. This is no different. Can't wait to read more from you!
