This is scarey. I see so much of myself in this story - maybe it's a "me" who no longer exists (it was So Long Ago) but looking back on it all, I was Awful. I guess I kinda grew up ... eventually. Took too long, I'm afraid. Frankly, it was inexcusable. Of course, I will keep reading to see if my life imitated @LittleBuddhaTW's art.

I am virtually speechless. While this story feels so alien, I'm sticking with it because 1) @Jeff Burton is compelling, and 2) somehow I'm drawn to Elijah.

I "had" a Jamie once (as I suspect most of us gay guys did). Hopefully Adam will have more luck with this Jamie than I had with mine. Except, well, my Jamie and I are still, somehow, in touch (no, there's no innuendo in that observation). In any case, this has the makings of a great story - looking forward to more! -
My heart aches for Jack. And Jonah is gonna make one heckuva Consolation Prize someday, if only for Comic Relief.

Another odd (coincidental?) parallel from current literature - "Contact" (the movie based on Carl Sagan's book of the same name) had an alien setting on a beach, though there was no roasting of lizards nor vaguely homoerotic "incidents" ... and no bizarre timepieces present in the landscape. At least, that's what popped into my head. Maybe I'm getting carried away with Dr. Who and his ilk.

The mind boggles. My addled brain finds echoes of everything and anything ranging from Dr. Who to C. S. Lewis. And given my limited reading and experience, these musings could be wildly inaccurate ... or perhaps the tip of the iceberg ... or maybe entirely irrelevant.

I feel for Nick. Even worse, I feel for Jack. I'm just speechless, frankly. I was probably just as insufferable when I was 14.

This chapter is so emotive, so filled with angst, so replete with possibilities ... so true to life and its yearnings. Most of us, I would imagine, have been there. Maybe we still are. As my own father admonished me so many years ago, we need to be kind to each other.

I knew there was a reason that I like @Josh Aterovis. Great story so far. And now I've got some extra context for Killian ... and Asher. Having come to Killian and co a bit late in the game, I'll have to piece it all together. Should be fun!
