Killian is likely in some hot water with Topher King. The reason he looks great for 30 is because he’s being impersonated by an 18 year old junior detective. Topher might report his impostor to the security at the conference and Killian’s cover is blown. Hopefully the early morning sex situation doesn’t impede on investigating Mr Knox. Novak did warn him about “getting distracted by sex”. And here he is… getting distracted by sex.

Interesting experience for Oliver and Declan. I guess the rumors are true regarding ginger guys.

Killian is quite the busy guy. College freshman student and private investigator working on two cases simultaneously while also doing paperwork for his boss, dating Micah, stalking targets, going to club meetings, making time for his family, and attracting crushes from Noah and Sharia. It’s a lot to juggle.

“ I don't know you any better now than when we started dating.” Micah, honey, your boyfriend is 4-5 years younger than you and in college plus busy assisting a private investigator. Give him some time please. and (possible spoilers for one of the side plot stories) Anyways, I’m surprised this story came up so quickly. Will be quietly reading along each chapter leaving occasional comments as usual.

I’m glad Joel opened up for once to let Celia and Trace in. It can be a tough thing to get teen boys to do. Cody already knew Joel was gay. Wesley probably told him. And his elementary/middle school classmates maybe told him about what being gay means. Joel’s dad seems determined to help Cody and ajoel get some hangout time. I do hope Joel gets to move back home at the end because I hate what the separation is doing to Cody.

Well, just like that, Joel’s glass walls he had to protect his secret have shattered. Colt found out and Davin has a similar secret of his own. I predicted that one back in the chapter we first met Davin and he chatted with Joel out on the porch before they shared a bed for the night. Davin and Joel might get into a bit of a relationship if Joel allows that into his life. Joel is still hyper vigilant about things. Very protective and aggressive when confronted. Hopefully Davin, Colt, and maybe Gavin, may help him realize he can relax a bit more and let Celia in. Colt already hinted at how his mom would easily accept Joel’s secret but Joel’s too afraid of rejection to listen. Colt is bitter because his parents expect him to take over the ranching business when they retire. I do think Lacey would be more excited by that opportunity while Colt can go pursue other careers he might be interested in.

Well, Killian may be traumatized from his solving of a Civil War era mystery, but Amalie and the baby are now at peace since their true story has been discovered despite the evil captain’s lies about her death. Hopefully the inn that Steve is operating at the old mansion doesn’t have any more hauntings. I guess Killian is a psychic medium now as well as a detective.

Holy cow, they actually dug up the skeleton of a baby. A bit dark, for sure. Definitely traumatic enough to leave a haunting imprint on a house, though. Kane was being very prickly and immature in this chapter, mainly at that dinner meeting scene. “Baby back ribs….” Bruh… Uncool to joke about a skeletal baby like that.

I've been reading along each chapter so far, but now I feel the urge to comment because a lot was learned in this chapter. The twins are probably my favorite characters so far. I like the dynamic between them. Gavin is more playful and maybe a bit immature but not in a bad way. Davin seems more thoughtful and emotional and I can tell there's maybe some feelings towards Joel from him so maybe he's gay or bi. As for Joel, it's important to remember it has only been a few days since he's been kicked out of home. It has been 13 chapters so a lot has been going on but if I have been reading (and remembering) correctly, this night he is spending at Davin's house is only about 72-ish hours after he came home from baseball practice that night to find out he had been kicked out. It's a big change to have to unexpectedly move in with strangers especially when a high school teenager. So I won't blame him for being still very guarded. He has been making an effort to fit in hanging out with the other guys his age and going to the falls and the bonfire. Celia and Trace seem like great parents taking in Joel who Trace randomly found on the side of the road. They are giving him the space he needs in this crazy transition for him and Trace does know Joel's secret, but he has no judgement about it and I assume Celia will be the same way when she does find out why Joel was kicked out. Lacey, we don't know much about her, but she gives off "annoying little sister" vibes. She's very excited to have a new person in the family to show off to. Colt seems to be in his own world. Maybe wasn't too fond of Joel moving in, but I think he warmed up to Joel a bit after Celia made him invite Joel to the falls. He's likely more concerned with Sierra, his girlfriend, though. Westley is a jerk for outing Joel for what was on his laptop when he likely has worse of the straight version of that on *his* laptop. Cody seems very sweet and the one person back home Joel is comfortable hanging out with, and Joel often mentions Cody in the narrating. I hope they get to hang out more.

Only one loose end left: The guy in the group home who was supposedly beating up Caleb and hiding it (his name slips my mind) Hopefully he gets some form of discipline if Caleb was in fact telling the truth about that one. And glad to see that Shane Novak is keeping Killian around. With the crazy barn stunt that Killian pulled I was afraid he’d get demoted. Novak was impressed with his detective skills after all, even if he’s a bit reckless.

Based on how these stories go, Killian didn’t learn his lesson the first time and will probably go into danger again if it means catching a murderer. He hopefully has good insurance to keep covering these near death experiences. Anyways, enough joking aside. Caleb was always a bit fishy from the start. A shame Child Protective Services were so incompetent they couldn’t get him out of the domestic abuse situations despite all the reports. As for the beatings at the group home, I assume Caleb was lying about those so they assumed the domestic abuse from Ira was also lies. Hence them planning to send him home, triggering the brutal axe murder that started the whole mess. Finn was a pathological liar too with that fake story about the cult. Birds of a feather I guess. I’m surprised Finn survived the scythe, though, holy cow. That’s more brutal than the shovel Killian took to the head. Thankfully Asher is ok. Not sure how laws work in Maryland, but if this happened in my state, Caleb would be tried as an adult, and kept in prison on death row for 10-15 years before execution. Good story overall though. Will look forward to the next one.

Woah. Things gor really intense. I figured for a while that it was Caleb ever since his crashout ranting about how much he fantasized about killing Ira. Finn was an unexpected villain though. I figured he was just letting Caleb stay the night and Caleb snuck out to kill his dad, but Finn was in on everything. Maybe after Killian spoke with Marco, Marco went to investigate things on his own and ran into Finn who, well, tied him up. I suspect they were about to do the same with Asher in the barn if Killian hadn’t intervened.

Woah a magical date night with a wonderful gentleman. A nice dinner, stargazing on the beach and dancing in a club. And possibly leading to Killian losing his V-card. Perfect way to forget about Asher, who is now dating a younger sociopathic liar and possible murderer.

“are you maybe taking some small measure of satisfaction in showing Asher that the guy he left you for wasn't all he made him out to be?“ Seth hit the nail on the head! He is quite smart for a spectral being. Stop. Reporting. To. Asher. He can find out when the investigation is complete. It’s time to stop dwelling on your toxic ex, Killian. 😔

Adam crashed out too because of Steve’s decision to buy the almost 180 year old haunted mansion. Some more interesting characters appear. Ira’s parents and Rachel’s aunt are quite hostile about things. Marco also appears and is very over the top to say the least. A lot of dislike towards Killian in the comments, but his life is a bit chaotic right now so I cut him some slack. Asking Adam what his problem was out in public wasn’t his smartest move though.

Caleb totally crashed out at that meeting. I get that he’s frustrated but screaming about how much he wished and hoped and prayed that he could get rid of his dad is some red flags thst maybe he is the killer. Asher also crashed out when being told some extra information. He is dating Caleb now and got upset to find out Caleb was cheating. And apparently it’s Killian’s fault for telling Asher the truth?! Micah, the reporter, is quite charming. He’s out of college so maybe a little old for Killian but there’s some interesting interactions there. Maybe this is how Killian moves on from Asher.

I’m glad I was able to find this third story. A bit sad to see Asher and Killian not getting along. They worked well together in the first story but I guess we started seeing tension there in the second story.

Holy cow! What a twist! Kyle seemed so normal and kind but he’s a psychopath serial killer…. 😳😮 Oliver better watch out. And I hope they check that syringe for fingerprints.

Chandler is a weasel. He charms his way in. Takes what he wants and then leaves. Everyone tells Andrew about this recurring behavior from Chandler, it happens to him. He gets cheated on, had his boundaries violated, and he still loves the weasel and wants to get back with him again?? This is some Stockholm syndrome stuff.

Been holding off on my comments so far but this chapter was the final straw before I felt the need to say something lol. Andrew needs to pause and think about what he’s doing and who to associate with. Might be difficult because he’s barely in high school, but he keeps getting involved with these older guys who are nothing but trouble and trying to take advantage of him (Chandler first and now Marcus). He has a perfectly sweet Jase who likes him and he likes as well, but he’s too stubborn to get together with him, apparently. He almost got there when Chandler cheated on him but immediately started hanging out with the cheater again like nothing happened.

"Yeah. She had the abortion the same day we talked about it at the café, when she told me she wasn’t going through with it." I guess we figured out the situation with the baby. He/she has been dead for a while now but wasn’t a total lie early on. The baby is pretty much the reason Joey is dead when she confronted him about the pregnancy. A bit startling all the lies she told about her past/family situation.

Aidan nooooo! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 They just got married! Will’s dad also died. Too much death in this chapter. Ugh at Adam for not locking the door after he cleaned up. A little skunk named Caitlin got in. Thank God Laura was just a red herring. But all the red herrings are blue ones now.

Ugh, Laura is now prime suspect number one. I day ugh because she seemed like a good friend. But I guess she slipped out of that meeting to go murder Robbie and why she stayed at Keiyara’s dorm to kill her. This seems very out of character for her so hopefully I’m not falling for a red herring. i’m glad Will’s Dad got to make peace before his passing due to those heart attacks. It baffles me he didn’t get the surgery when that is probably what God wanted.

Iliana is the only sane one in this chapter, besides Laura & Gabe I guess. I can’t believe Adam is going along with this whole surprise wedding thing when Aidan and Will barely began dating. I am getting the suspicion that Caitlin really does just want to use Will as a sugar daddy. The baby may not even be real at this point judging by her reaction to Will’s question. She may have already aborted the baby or the baby miscarried. I guess she’s not far along enough to have a baby bump or baby isn’t in there anymore. But the refusal to let him see any progress on the baby is pretty telling. Gabe finding the red stained rock is pretty interesting. Could have been the weapon of murder (or suicide if my previously outlined theory is true) in Joey’s death.

This chapter had a lot going on. I think Laura might need some therapy. Understandable since Joey died and Will almost died a couple times, too. And, ugh, Caitlin is already treating Will like a “sugar daddy”. Luckily for her, many nonprofit pregnancy centers exist that offer those kinds of medical services (checks on the baby and etc) for free for pregnant women. Not sure how I feel about Jack but I’m glad he made attempts to reconnect with Joey and get to know him. Yelling at him was maybe not the best idea but his intentions were in the right place. Joey was going berserk and could have used a wakeup call. As for Aidan, I think it may be too early to be considering Marriage. The boys are only like 18-19 or so and they just got together less than a week ago. Give it some time!
