Hey @Tony S. Feels like we've turned a corner or got to the other side of the mountain with this chapter. If only this could have been put into a TV mini series. Forget that it could have been a series! Great Story and count me with those who don't mind waiting for the good stuff!

Brutal at times, but reading the first chapter or two you'd expect it. Reading is easy, it's a shifter story with a twist. Like Mr. Manns writing style. And of course, on this site... it is a love story.

@drsawzall your keyboard lives on another day! & I'm glad for that. I've been kind of harsh lately, must have patience. Tony's story, Tony's way. I like how he is showing us the incremental changes happening to the characters. Sorry for Mateo to discover Kitt wasn't available a while back. He's no worse for the wear. A good soul just as Tom is. This seems to me, besides Kitts work ethic a good start to his new life. Hope Matt and maybe his own mom can make the cut and be included also! -

C'mon now @mayday the boy barely survived that first night away, let alone the first few weeks. I don't believe for a second that he's like his dad. Count your blessings that you've never been treated that badly. I lived in my f'n rdx for the last six months of `23 from over 100f to below 10f. All because I'm like I am. And ya know what, one of them 7 yrs older was the first dinky I ever touched besides mine. F him! Sorry I'm just not coping well today. -
The veil did mess with Theo. Mouse and Hunk have brought him out of a funk before. Seems now they need to be quick about it. It's inherently unsafe where they are now.

"Oops, there it is!" Matt said it to him, Kitts eyes said it back. I agree with the above and am sure Kitt will lean on his Riverbend Support Group. He's learned that they care for him. Not before he ran... but after he did. In his obviously fragile state his heart did accept he'll see his Matt again! The unease he feels will lead him to Tom, Mateo and Lea. Matt is the one part of his old life he's willing to include into the new part. -
The other thought I have is too similar to my own. Kitt feels he has nothing to offer Matt anymore After everything I've ever owned. Only having some clothes, a card table instead of my Scandinavian teak one... Just deleted forty lines. Yep my psyche was irreparary destroyed too. By my own "superior" FORMER family.

And did you read right after that. Kitt's said repetitively that he's scared that his father will then get involved and hurt both him and Matt. The kid is a teen so can't blame him for not looking at this from different angles that are equally as possible. He's just afraid his dad will hurt the guy he loves and misses like a phantom limb, and himself again. Not knocking you, just look at the times he's thought about this and come to the same conclusion.

This is just perfect fate. The homo-hater pop has rare blood and a gay stranger saves his life! Maybe steve can cringe himself into a heart attack, ha! Every human should be given a baseline of respect, unless you see them coming at you with joystick in hand and a vest-bomb. Steve squandered his. Matt knows a little about this but not all. Tom seems to be on the edge of getting Kitt & Matt to talk!

I didn't see it @weinerdog strange that no one thought of it. Good chapter again. Wonder if the thawing can be a metaphor for the small changes happening in these folks. Hang in there Kitt!

Man!! Nuno is an artist of words. A love-story that just comes out of left field that no one could see happening. Not even the two that fall into it! Very small fishing village on the coast. People set in their ways. An abused and traumatized boy is brought in by family. After clashing with a family friend he literally gets a whiff of him. He snags the sweatshirt... Then we're off to the races! Complete with color & emotion composed onto the pages. Here is another must read for any that read this review first.

C'mon Matt. Driving around a block isn't searching, talkin' to folks is closer. You did good with that one time. Tom is doing a good job with the crash course in street-life he's giving Kitt. The foray into church-child-care is helping his spirit. Dick-for-brains (from my 70s neighborhood, I got called it once but then showed Jeff what I could do with it😉) got his ass handed to him by "his" preacher😅😂🤣

Thank You for this one especially. From Rowan defending his Loves honor towards the now banished jerk. To the beautiful experience past the breakwater that is beautifully crafted and experienced by us as readers of this novel. I've never been party to love quite like what is written here. Not... it wasn't true. Or it wasn't complete and unnecessary for either of us to feel anything else about it. It just lacked the beauty of the revelations shared by these two. The subliminal message of the ocean parallels their emotional realizations and growth. This is award quality substance in this chapter. More! MORE!

Yep, if Matt could think well he would no go back at almost the same time. Flyers, great idea he would not have to be there for anyone to see one. Matt's parents are noticing, he needs to ask for their ideas and help.
