Great beginning. Love your stories. And especially these lines. “There wasn’t a current music act anywhere in sight. Manny's shot came in between Wally's two—his time at the firing range paying off—hitting Wally just above his nose as he fired his second. Manny was knocked backwards and fell to the floor. Priscilla screamed, "MANNY!! Well, we all know Manny will survive (duh!) even though he has been shot. Where this event takes us is the author’s prerogative and story that keeps us all reading. Hmm… I understand the need story wise to write a sex scene leading to Adam’s transformation. But, no offense, I thought it was graphically gratuitous and could have been much simpler — especially given your style of writing for the rest of the story. (Sorry for my editing nature getting in the way of me truly enjoying your story.)
