I was annoyed with myself about the night at the Tempest. The dragon had insisted on skin contact, or contact at all, but until I knew where Emmett and I stood, it didn't seem like a good idea to pretend there was anything at all. However, Emmett had kissed me goodbye on the cheek, completely relaxed, as if it was the most normal thing in the world, and I felt like an idiot. For that, I painstakingly worked through the shopping list he had sent me. Everything you could possibly need for h

    It's me

Hi there! It's me! This first entry shall be more about introducing myself. So, yeah. I'm German, meaning English is only my second language and please, dear native speakers, have mercy. I'm a 90s kid, raised kinda strict by parents who love books (mom crime and historical stuff, dad sci-fi and military-themed stuff) and therefore I got books for every opportunity. My first story I wrote when I was 8 or 9, about a baby rooster named Chester, who's lonely because apart his dad he's the only boy around. That was that, till I got my first laptop at 14, though back then, for the sake of my friends, I wrote mostly fanfictions. (Anyone knowing the band Tokio Hotel? Yeah. That. *shudder*) And then... it kinda evolved. I have a word document of 20 or more pages with short story summaries, and a folder full of documents with more detailed summaries and dramatis personae (I love those) and more than a dozen notebooks on my desk with notes and chapter details and background scribbles. And different other folders with stories which are mostly only one or two chapters into writing. Cause: I'm the master of the WIPs. I'm a theorist. I like the planning. Mapping out. Detailing out. Creating little scenes and moments. Build worlds and religions. Drawing maps. Then I write a chapter or two or maybe even three and then my attention snaps to the next interesting plot spark in my mind. It's a vicious cycle, I'll tell'ya. But a positive point is this community here. Seeing reactions and reading comments, seeing actual interest, is a big motivation. ❤️ Another trait: I always miscalculate the length of a story. "Ink and Flowers"? Oh well, maybe 20 chapters...? More like 30, thank you. "Jewel in the Dirt" I first aimed for 35-40, raised my expectation to 50, then 60 and then said screw all the plans and well *sniff* it's about 80... For "White Sheets" I'm not even starting a diagnosis, I'm at 40 written chapters and for sure it will double. So. Everyone who's following me or part of my stories: you're mostly in for a long ride. I can't do short. In this blog I want to empty my thoughts about stories, progress, new ideas, changes and everything that goes with it. Thank you for your attention
  3. No. Mother and son are covered in anti-magic trinkets and gadgets, like the pub itself. Or I'm trying to send everyone in the wrong direction... Since Mr. Stevenson said "anonymous group" it could literally anything, from A like the classic alcoholics over Q as queers to Z - okay I'm passing, in German cigarettes are written with Z, but in English the only thing coming to my mind is zipper. Well, you know what I mean. 😅 What an image. Since basements tend to be scary, I wouldn't want coffee from down there...🫣 Never!
  4. The young man behind the counter- almost directly opposite the front door- didn't look like he had been expecting customers two minutes after opening. “Good morning,” I greeted him. “We need to speak to Mr. and or Mrs. Stevenson. It's about the magical incident here on the block.” The young man nodded with wide eyes, then turned to the side and yelled: “Mooooooom!” My ears twitched. “Impressive organ.” Kellen mumbled dryly, but was drowned out by a woman's voice, which -
  5. Absolutely right. Dante will later compare Frank to the fuse of a powder keg, which you know is burning, you can hear it hiss, but you don't see how long it still might be... You're lucky, next chapter Dante and Alice will have a proper talk about the matter
  6. His behavious raises some questions, that for sure. Considering she broke up with Valentine, her fiancé, to stay with Frank, says quite a bit about her love for her little brother. She wants him to be happy and yes, together with the respect Dante earned before this little big argument, she would rather support them than separate them. The two escaped slaves we heard about, on which occasion Carolyn told him about the gun in the car? The topic will come back up in chapter 28 (I think, don't make me swear on it) and you should keep your fears in mind.
  7. Even at dinner, Dante's pride had been stronger than his hunger, and in the meantime, he also hated Mistress Alice a little, because after their return, on the one hand, she had kept Henry, who had been waiting dutifully next to the door, busy with pointless tasks, and on the other hand, she had not taken off the leash. And so now, at bedtime, she led him across the corridor and knocked on Frank's door. With a raised brow, he looked toward them. "Bring him back to me in the morning, wi

    24: Emmett

Can't promise anything here Cause it's still Emmett and the topic is intense. Being objectified and owned, so to speak? And hey "I'll go insane once you die"... Though, on the last part it doesn't matter what Emmett thinks or does, it won't change, boyfriends or not.

Don't jinx it! 🫣 Like, seriously, words like this can throw me into a writing block faster than I can re-read the comment. I'm in a good flow right now, I want to stay there! 😢 Emmett accepting without drama being literally owned? Hard to imagine. And Finley knows enough to think twice about telling him. Oh there will be a physical relevation, though most likely not the one you're implying And long enough to comfortably strangle him. Well we don't know what mess Ben's weird and inappropriate sexual comments made at home before it got (hopefully) fixed. We don't know what his stepdad knows- and we know nothing about Ben real dad, so there might be a chance the druid actually referred to "your kind" in the magical being sense.

I had been dreaming crazy dreams, about Jason and Dex and the tiger shifter, and shuffled sleepily into the kitchen to make myself some tea. Tony was already sitting at the table, a cup in front of him, his phone next to him. He gave me a forced smile. But I was only able to hold a conversation when the kettle was bubbling and my pseudo-porridge was doing the rounds in the microwave. “Nocturnal developments?” “The usual tent pitching and dismantling.” I snorted. “And th
  11. That he is, no doubt. Smart, I mean^^ I agree and the answer in this case, we will see. I agree even here and here as well we will see an answer soon. ❤️
  12. “Nice.” Kellen grinned and actually patted my Rover on the hood. The car itself would have suited him, the glittering dark blue paint rather less so. “What are those things for?” “To fit a snow shovel,” I replied curtly and opened the driver's door. “We're not in Alaska.” He gave me a wink before opening his door too. “But still in Montana.” There was plenty of snow here. He just chuckled. I couldn't have said where exactly my bad mood had come from so suddenly. Ma

    Guesses...

Highly unlikely... This form of society just tends to bring up a certain type of women. Sad but true. But it's nice to know that even a young woman, who was taught to be part of exactly this, sees how bad it actually is.

    Guesses...

    Keep that thought in mind

    Guesses...

Because that's highly likely... Depends even on how the guys are able to react to it, I would say. If Remy thinks he can handle it, he will do shit and call his mistresses back and piss them off. Oh, jealous of both? Of what they have and share? Another interesting thought... Hope is always good, though I do think you're going a bit far here

    Guesses...

The rain hammered down hard on the car and after Remy turned off the engine the sound became oppressively loud. He wrapped his arms around the steering wheel and leaned his forehead against his forearms. For ten years he had lived in his own little personal peace- it seemed like it was over now. The icing on the cake would be if Mistress Therese told him she was going to sell him. Well, at least then he would be rid of Anduin again. Pull yourself together, hoping for your sale is pathetic.
  17. Ohohoh! Will the figurines be moving? I love the idea more on that next chapter... Well. Let's hope she comes to her senses. You are right, they have turned into something like friends and she said she wants to free him- quite a turnaround now. Depends on how severe of a blow his pride is taking. For now he has some understanding and it will be used up at some point and then... Not to talk about what effect it will have on poor Henry, when his Mistress hates him and his mistress and his "big brother" treat each other frostily...
  18. Within your catalogue of questions this is probably the only one we can answer immediately and with a resounding: no. Dust will ponder about this too next chapter- and basically show us the non-answers For all the rest: wait and see
  19. The puzzling case didn't let me sleep; the prospect of seeing Kellen again didn't make it any better. As a result, I was in the office well before eight o'clock. I was just about to sit down and go through the prepared file again when there was a knock. With one hand already outstretched for said file, I looked up, startled. “Come in.” A man dressed in black entered with a flourish and then paused as if surprised; it took me a moment to recognize Kellen. Twelve years ago, I h
  20. Seth does have a point when he says "without prejudice". And I mean, no one - not even Dante - could have know how first Dante reacted to the boy, that he suddenly became protective, and second, how Alice reacted to Dante. I don't think anyone expected them to act like fire and fuel. Good question. Does Blaise believe in the guilt of this man? Or was he afraid to lose everything if anyone realized it was his fault? Will we ever know? Oh, Frank would definitley show us his portion of the infamous Mitchell-temperament. But would Alice's love for her little brother be enough? Hard to tell. Depends probably even on how much Dante pissed her of for real, whether she can forgive him.
  21. Dante was sitting in the kitchen with his head in his hands when the others came in. He looked up, seeing unsettled and worried faces. "You could have told me." Daniel- though already burdened enough with the kids- lowered his eyes guiltily, TJ mumbled something that sounded like 'I thought you'd been told' and Seth sighed. "I'm sorry, Dante. I should have... I... oh, damn, I don't have an excuse." He grimaced. "Except maybe that I wanted you to go into this without prejudice." "I
  22. Not sure "incompetent" is the right word here but in general I agree.

  24. When I had started working here at Quincefield Hospital nine years ago, I had wondered why a hospital needed an emergency ward deep in the heart of the hospital when it already had the ER and ICU - and whether other hospitals had them too. Now that the forty beds had been expanded to the sixty emergency beds and the ward below had been cleared and converted into a sixty-bed emergency ward as well, the initial question seemed naïve to me. Especially as, in addition to these one hundred and t
  25. Age-altering magic which shouldn't even exist is giving Cursebreaker Dust a major headache. Special Inspector Kellen McAdams, who arrives as support, gives Dust a very different kind of ache. How is movie maker Durham connected to the case? Or are the pub owners hiding a dark secret?
