  1. At some point in the middle of the night, I woke up. Severe nausea forced me into the bathroom, but as I knelt in front of the toilet, the retching was too weak to actually get anything out. Without any sense of time, it was finally the coldness of the tiles which persuaded me to get up. I peed, washed my hands rather half-heartedly and drank a few sips of water before sliding back into bed. My feet refused to get back to warmth, and although sleep tugged at me, I kept blinking into the d
  2. We will hear later about the reasons. But that he was suspect to murder is probably for the authorities alone reason enough to say no.
  3. Well, Remy was wondering whether he might be considered unstable. Answer: yes. Yes he is emotionally unstable, though he himself does not see it. The Harlaneys are a house of former nobility. They originate in the deep west, the mountains, making money with weapons and armory forged from self-mined iron. And not few family members held high military ranks. But the past is the past.
  4. Remy set Sarah's coffee down in front of her and tried not to let on that he was very much aware of the cool mood in the dining room. Before turning and heading back to the kitchen, he caught Joy's amused grin, and in the kitchen he rolled his shoulders uncomfortably. "You look like someone suggested a deal with Marmion," Flavius remarked far too good-humoredly for Remy's taste. Cain snorted before Remy could even get his mouth open. "Have you looked at the girls, Fla? Or better yet, d

    Confession

I love this first bit of a story! This made me laugh several times, although the fate awaiting is dark.
  6. Well, Cedric is raising Josh and Nate since they were 6 & 4, he is more a father figure to them than all their father ever was. The age difference is not helping in seeing him more as brother. And yes, after he gave so much attention and love and time and everything to them, it might be difficult to remember that he is indeed an individual with his own needs and wishes. Imagine if he was following his bloodmoth nature more...
  7. ~Riley~ His body was heavy, lying on the bed-couch-thing like immovable blocks of metal; his body was at rest. But his mind... it jerked around like rabbinits being chased. He tried to imagine how a conversation with Grandma would go if he invited her- or at least Mom- to a meal with Cedric's family. He still had to pick up Wayne's wedding suit. He needed new pills. If Cedric was polite enough not to have read his personnel file, he'd have to explain some of the awkward

    Chris

Chris rubbed his eyes, behind which there was a dull throbbing. A chair scraped, a bowl was set on the table with a thud, a spoon clinked. "I'm worried about Max," Conrad said quietly. Chris raised his eyes. "Why?" Stirring in his breakfast porridge, Conrad replied: "Because he's still too rebellious." Chris frowned; it had been quite a while now since Max had last gotten himself a punishment. At least a punishment other than the regular overseer's dick up his ass, which was
  9. They would 😅 but depending on how well they actually get along, they would make a nasty power couple and we don't need that...
  10. Lore drop: Carolyn actually didn't want any more children after the twins, this pregnancy wasn't planned and she wanted to abort, but Blaise begged her not to do it. He was ready to forego even his freedom if she just left this child alive. Lore drop II: Britney is not actually their firstborn, but their first child- a girl- died shortly after birth. Well, Tom was never meant to be just the classic high-school-bully. He has his past and now his arch has properly opened up to be told. Slow, still, but we will hear all of it. Dante was indeed raised to fulfill his duty while loving the Great Mother. The somewhat heartless upper class and the mistresses their just underlined this perfectly. He didn't become one of the soulless serving-dolls, though, he has too much fire for it. But his fire was smoldered and suffocated enough to be only an ember now, which flares up now and then. He is (Alice will tell us later a bit more about her ex-boyfriend). But to be fair, it wasn't Britney's suggestion, but the one of Robert Horner. Anyway, Britney deserves to be slapped. Physical wounds are one side, the effect to the mind are another, he will definitely need some time. And you are right, Dante is on different levels not in the position to help Frank much, however close they have become. We will see how that goes for both of them.
  11. Dante licked his chapped and swollen lip and grimaced as the taste of blood mingled with that of vomit. You could say what you wanted about Miss Carolyn, but the chubby little woman, hard on her sixties, packed a punch. "That you can't just keep your mouth shut once." Tom sounded resigned and annoyed in equal measure; when Dante looked at him, he had his face buried in his hands. "Gratitude isn't exactly one of your strong suits, hmm?" Dante returned and Tom snorted. "Gratitude? W
  12. Here's to hoping! Yes and the consequences will be seen next chapter.
  13. "Henry's in the shower," Mistress Alice said as Dante headed for the bathroom - he sighed. All he really wanted to do was brush his teeth and go to bed. He noticed his Mistress' critical look and returned it for a moment before giving in to his curiosity. "Mistress... what was it like back when Tom and Matthew were friends?" Puzzled, she looked at him. "Tom mentioned it." he added explaining and she relaxed a little before shrugging. "Matthew and Tom were best friends, just l
  14. While I wholeheartedly agree with @Summerabbacats comment... THAT!!! exactly THAT! Plus, you mostly regret the things you don't do...

    Chapter 9

I didn't think of the flower (more of a girl I knew whose name is Jasmin), but now that you mention it... As kid I had a jasmine plant, a gift from an aunt. I loved the plant and liked the smell, but with the years it grew so big, that when it bloomed, it was truely suffocating. I know what you mean. It's a type of "dumbness" that makes them sweet and cute and somewhat innocent, but it can quickly get exhausting. (No, I'm not glancing at my sister-in-law, no no...) Well yes, as long as this relationship at least for her is real, she wants to be an ally. And she already showed a sort of support for Cedric and Riley. Whether she has the strength and wit to give Cyril what he deserves remains to be seen...

    Chapter 9

~Cedric~ Perhaps, Cedric thought, he had been a little too hasty in his approach. Josh and Nate had been plenty offended that he hadn't told them about a boyfriend, let alone an engagement, and they would definitely be extra offended when they found out who it was. After all, they knew Riley. He could certainly have met someone through Rico and his agency - which, after all, openly provided men to men. But time was an important factor, as was trust. He didn't hide himself and his se
  17. You know the game, right? You make a plan, you maybe even announce it, and then you get nothing of said plan done. Yeah. My general plan was to write on Emmett and Finley so we get their story done, but hey, after stary at a blank page for half an hour I closed the document and turned to other things. For example to our cursebreaker Dust, who got some updates. But also to Riley and Cedric. Yes, moth and butterfly are still fluttering around. In their story is a lot of stuff happening inspired by happenings of the real life around me, they regularly pop back into my mind. I did some rereading and wrote half a chapter (maybe less) and I do want to continue there. And now that I said it, for sure I open the document in a minute and my mind goes blank. Apart from that I was daydreaming a lot about chapters for various stories, many of them a long way from now. Or scenes from stories which I probably will never write. Yay. But at least I didn't get new story ideas altogether, leaving aside a little story for the Quincefield Chronicles. Read you soon!
  18. Like in the sense it was only a strong curse locking away Kellen's magic? Interesting thought, but would be a bit too easy Sooner or later we will get the guy and see what there is to him. At least one part of him is happy about the developments
  19. Kellen took two steps into the tunnel and swung the light around. “I don't see a switch.” I joined him in the narrow tunnel and instinctively ducked my head. At 1.82m, I'm certainly no giant, but the passageway was less than two meters high. I looked around magically, but didn't see anything either. “What have they done to the walls?” Vee wanted to know and stroked the smooth earth. “Either magically reworked or directly cut with magic,” Kellen replied, a little distracted as

    Visitors!

I've read an article about this not so long ago, about non-heterosexuality popping up concentrated in families. They are currently trying to find the reasons why. Apart that: great chapter. Can't wait for that amazing meal with Venetia and friends! And no, I didn't suspect anything from Vince. Quite surprised to be honest.

    Tom

@drsawzall, @centexhairysub This brotherhood is a religious thing. Every free-born man gets invited when reaching age 15. The vows and the tattoo are obligatory, the piercing is for the truly devoted. And Matt comes from a very pious family. But this tradition is dying (understandably) and skipping to the future: the next government will forbid this brotherhood, the upcoming elections will come up in present-time.

    Tom

Correct. Slave-born boys get either circumcised few days after birth or in a sort of ritual shortly before they get their first cage (around 11, mostly).

    Tom

"Are you nuts?" Tom stared at Matt, who looked up at him with wide eyes. "No, of course not." Matt lay there completely relaxed propped against the wall, hands clasped behind his head, while Tom squatted on his knees beside him. His ma always said he couldn't sit still for two minutes, but now he didn't move, just looked down at his friend. "You want to put a piercing in your dick!" "It goes with it." "No, it doesn't. My uncle doesn't have one, my grandpa doesn't have one, I
  24. I haven't thought about this possibility before, but honestly... Well let's say there are better ways for Kellen to take care of Dust. And his grown-up-boy-bits
  25. An accident involving a truck at a major junction caused traffic chaos in the city and cost me a lot of time and nerves. While I took off my jacket, I told Vee about it, who grimaced sympathetically. I had barely finished when an officer brought Kellen to us. After a nod in Vee's direction, he said to me: “My ears are still ringing.” “At least they're still attached.” I still refused to feel sorry for him. Let him spend a day listening to what I was being told when it came to the co
