Thank you @Philippe for your very thoughtful comments. There's a good deal to unpack from those! On Zack and Levi . . . purely platonic I feel. Zack has his own demons to deal with. On Brooke . . . yes, shallow, needy, and probably a lot of other things. I have fears about what her plans might be, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens . . . Thank you for your comments!

"Do we get to have an update on Rick and Adam?" Well, @Lynx003, I guess the answer to that one will be ... eventually! LOL

Brisbane, Australia has a motorway that goes under part of the city, allowing you to miss the city centre, and with underground exits and entrances. Saw it (travelled it) for the first time a couple of months ago. It was pretty amazing. Of course, I had to pay for the privelige, but I wasn't complaining! lol

@Doha I hear you. I'm still judging horse events and have seen enough accidents to horses and riders to fill a book 😥

@kbois I'm sure things will work out ... barrel racing chicks are tough! 😁

Oh, no!!!

@Philippe Ssshhhhhhh! We're not supposed to talk about those!

@drsawzall I think we would all love to see an image of that coin! Our parents and grandparents are fabulous sources of stories. My own grandfather served in the Air Force in WW2 but was only based in Australia. Not sure exactly what he did -- engineer or electrician or something I think -- but the one story I remember him telling was about when he was stationed at an air base near Townsville in Queensland and a troop plane crashed. He said from that event the one thing that he would never be able to forget was the smell of burning flesh! Not a particularly good story to be telling a 12 year old (at the time) kid! He also had a few souvenirs from the war ... an old (unarmed) grenade, a helmet, and 'Old Bertha' -- an old military rifle that my dad ended up with for a while, but I don't recall what happened to it. As kids me and my cousins spent a lot of time admiring those items......

@akascrubber I suspect that at some point in time, unless @kbois is really strong and dedicated in her writing, in the 'heat of the moment's the boys might slip up... just saying! lol

@weinerdog I like random thoughts. Thank you! 🙂

I wonder where you saw that @Gary L 🤔

@Ivor Slipper just setting up something big for later on ... for another story! LOL

-- Chapter 28 -- As he came around the last bend in Beachside Lane, Matt quickly spotted the police vehicle that was parked on the verge directly outside the house, and immediately his stomach did an unpleasant flip. You know, the kind where you are sure and certain that bad news is staring you in the face, but it just hasn’t been said out loud as yet? The Toyota Landcruiser was parked near the gateway into their yard, engine off, no lights, and as Matt slowed and turned into the yard,

I'm afraid @Lynx003 that you are indeed barking up the wrong tree!

I think we all "hoped" this day would never come @drsawzall. In my twenties and thirties, I went to many concerts with visiting international artists, and one by one they are dying out. There aren't too many left now

BrisVegas. 1987 I think it was. A mate and his girlfriend. Me and my high school girlfriend. Four of us went to the concert, then we went up to Noosa for a few days. Fun times. lol

Beautiful words indeed @Philippe Thank you! I was just grateful that I had the great privilege to see her and Kenny live in concert! That was a memorable night!!!

I am heartbroken today 😥😥😥

I think Constable Leggatt will need to keep a close eye on this Casey character! Gawd only know what he might get up to!

Haha! I think the music industry and the "real" bands are safe! And yeah, same voice profile used for all of the songs. I like 'him' ... whomever he is ...

My money would be on the wogs in the purple Valiant!!! "Coming out here, taking our jobs, perving on our women, breathing our sunshine. Why don't they go back to their own bloody country?" Ted would say! Guaranteed!

I believe Silver Bullets or wooden stakes to the heart may be more appropriate! 😂

Yes ... it all goes back to those original Thompson's! They were a pack of bastards! lol Of course, down through all those years, not ALL Thompson's were bad ... and I have Thompson characters in other stories I've been working on that will attest to that. As for an ending to the Thompson curse ... I do have plans! 🙂 Thank you for your comments!

@CincyKris absolutely!!!

-- Chapter 27 -- The path to redemption would be a long and difficult road to travel, Levi knew that. He still wasn’t sure that he was strong enough to be able to complete the journey, but Father Costas seemed to have faith in him, and wasn’t that what life was all about? Having faith in ourselves? And knowing that other people also have faith in us? The afternoon before would be one that would long be burned into Levi’s memory. Not surprisingly his father had, at times, gone ballistic
