In the end, large corporate donors will be needed, hence why Orion has the University on board as users of the rig platform for marine research purposes. It is hoped that would help cause a draw towards donating from the big corporate donors... we'll see.

Thanks for the comment @centexhairysub! Marc, while having the backing of his family, isn't always perfect... Sasha has his own issues he has to recognize and deal with. Both of which will be apparent in the next few chapters.
