I was thinking that Alex realized once they returned without Logan, that he would have problems. I am figuring he might have had a whole week before the first of the people investigating Logan's disappearance arrived and then once Logan himself reported into Hilo... Eric's version would be incontrovertible as he checked out with the CG in San Diego and left them his probable route as well as he had his own logbook to show the location as documented at time of rescue. I'm just thinking Alex and company all had several days where panic was the word of the day with the Coast Guard and FBI getting involved. Thanks for the comment @Al Norris!

US Eastern Standard Time. From 10:10 am (Current time) 8 hours and 4 minutes until it drops. I forget we have readers from all over the world. I'll add in the time zones in the future.

Wait for it... it wasn't Alex that reported him missing. It was his place of work.

Actually, less than 10 hours until chapter 4 drops. 😁

Thanks for the comment. The answer you seek is in the next chapter. 😀

Thanks, ReaderPaul. As always, it's a work in progress. Even though it is completed and edited, I'm still making changes as I reread prior to posting.

Thanks for the kind words @RainbowPhoenixWI!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah. One thing I've learned in all my years is not to be shocked at the shear amount of stupidity and lack of common sense. Then again, he probably thought it might never come out in public. If Logan drowned and they didn't say anything, then no one would know. The fact that Logan made it to Hawaii and talked to the Coast Guard first starts a cascade of events. From the CG informing the FBI, to the CG investigating the incident also. Follow that with the Sheriff and then the FBI investigating. I am sure panic was the word of the day for several days.

Thanks for the comment @centexhairysub! When you check in on a boat. Chances are your boat will be searched, depends on the port. All people onboard are documented. Alex obviously forgot about that or slept through it. One chapter left... Hitting the highlights works as I was writing this as a quick entry for the Fall Anthology and decided to just post it instead. I may continue it... haven't decided yet. I was happy where it left off and I dropped a few more lines into chapter 4 yesterday to broaden what was already written. It drops at 6:14 pm Sunday.

Thanks for the comment! @centexhairysub Marc spends a lot of time planning. That will be very useful in the future. Marc's people. That he trusts are very close. Others wish they were. As in real life. If you know the right people you can move mountains with ease.

Thanks for the comment @CincyKris! Or off the boat... depends on if you use the nautical version or not. 😇

It's that dreaded Hawaiian disease, Lak' A Nuki.

Thanks for the comment @akascrubber! Yes. Eric is unhappy and has the resources to express that unhappiness when needed. Alex may very well be chum (Fish Bait) by the time it's all said and done.

LOL. Yeah. Alex was a real winner. I guess we'll see if Logan was or was not pushed. Thanks for the comment @drsawzall!

Thanks for the comment @drsawzall! Marc isn't too concerned about adversaries as his family has the only fleet in the sector. It's along the lines of speak firmly, have a large battle fleet for gunboat diplomacy, type of situation. Besides. Marc hasn't been getting any lately and he's getting frustrated. 😈

Thanks for the comment @ReaderPaul! Rhasta.... Yeah one of those 100's of cousins that come in handy on occasion. i don't think we see him again for a while, but I'll check.

Logan While walking back to the condo, I discovered the restaurant was private. Part of the Yacht Club and Marina where the boat was moored. Adding to my issues, people will assume I’m after money. Eric. And I found out his last name was Cox, is obviously wealthy. He has a custom-built trimaran that must cost 4 or 5 hundred thousand. A three-bedroom condo with two cars here in Hawaii. A San Diego condo, with car included. He lives in Houston, Texas and works for an investment firm in Dalla

Took me a while, but I got there in the end. 😀

Late to the party on this posting, but. History shows that burning your boats behind you is a very good way to motivate your crew. Cortez thought so. I'm sure once Captain Reynolds and his crew realized this as their ship was destroyed, that they became much more receptive to everything that was told/taught to them by the current inhabitants.

Thanks for the comment @VBlew! Reminds me of the time I was helping friend and had to rent a cargo van to move furniture. The fuel tank wasn't full, and they didn't have time to fill it. I made them put a note on the account that it wasn't full when I received it. With the amount of fuel registering on the gauge, and it wouldn't be full when I returned it. Had the person doing the vehicle return rather miffed that they couldn't charge me the $25 to fill the tank as per the rental contract. It would have cost me more to fill it than $25, but I wasn't going to and returned it with the same amount of fuel I left with. Sometimes it's good to be old and be able to pull these memories out and use them in a book.

Thanks for the comment @akascrubber! The first step to creating a fleet. Moving him in the right direction. Unfortunately, he's has not been able to get out as much the past year.

Thanks for the comment! I wrote it for the fall anthology, but decided to post it now.

Logan could have done better, has a thing the ones that need to be fixed. Alex is just plain stupid and you can’t fix that.

Dinner, as always, was a social affair. Rarely do we have all family members in one place simultaneously. Jessica was happily chatting with Aunt Gloria and I was talking with Uncle Fran and Dad about the two week-long run I had with ANS Comet over in Seraph Sector. My ideas, combined with Uncle Fran’s technological advancements, have increased both our intelligence and our ability to respond to pirates with overwhelming force. Production of the new Armed Freighters is underway. The first of whic
