  1. As long as you don't go into it thinking that you're seeing an anthology of a movie (which I've seen coming from the reviews so far), it's enjoyable. There's the main plot and the creatures are just kind of a support to the main plot.
  2. It is actually better than what you would think as long as you pay attention to the main plot line of the movie. The creatures are a small part of the movie. I...will never be able to read "Me tie dough-ty walker" without hearing the voice that they used for that creature. Nope. Mmm... Mind you: Horror fan. Last time a jumpscare got me was like...Freddy popping up to drag a guy through the mattress in a flood of blood. When I was 12. Not even Five Nights at Freddy did it to me. These were well planned and executed. *watches horror movies for shits and giggles while writing romance*
  3. Hey there. So...uh...Saw Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It...it was a trip. *twitches* I ain't sleeping tonight. Nope. *twitches again* Good lord. The books are made for kids. This movie? Not so much.
  4. *wanders in with pudding cup in hand* *catches up on the reading* Yummy. Nice looking guys early in the morning. *wanders off to edit before date*
  5. Thank you! I got the first story done. I'll be editing and starting that story sometime between next sunday/monday.
  6. Me: *tries to rewrite story* Fluffy thing called Miracle: No, you can't have your hand. It must pet me. Me: *10 minutes later* Can I have my hand back? Miracle: *curled around hand, holding it hostage* No. Me: *sighs* Yay. To date, I have gotten my hand back. She went to see what her other human was up to.
  7. I took a nap and true to form...Miracle slept on my power button. How has your day gone all?
  8. Okay, so. I mentioned this in the CoTT 2 forum but I am doing a 365 Day Prompt a Day thing. How does it work and why do I do this to myself? I've actually done this before. I did it for fanfiction and did 365 short pieces for various fandoms. This time I'm just doing this with my original writing. I will be posting it. Not right now. Probably starting next month I will post the week worth of works. I'll get into details on it. As for how it works? Well, I have lists. And I will discuss what goes down with each list. I have a list of Horror to Romance/Romance to Horror, 2 lists of "3 Nouns", 2 lists of "Dialogue" and a single list of word prompts. The "3 Nouns" list is just as it says. It has 3 words that you have to work into the story. Dialogue is just prompts of dialogue that you have to work into it. The Horror to Romance/Romance to Horror is me taking one word and using it in two different ways. Same way, different POV's. Those will be fun. Now, let's see. I have 78 Horror to Romance prompts, 50 dialogues, 99 "3 nouns" and a 139 single word prompts. Each list has a letter assigned to it (A to F), and each prompt has a number under that letter (A1, B1, C1, ect). I have all of those on little bits of paper and in a bag. I plan on doing this again so I'll be using these scraps of paper again eventually. Every day I will riffle through them and write whatever I pull out. I'm looking forward to this. If I miss a day, I write it the next day, but it kind of makes my brain work and forces me to write something every day. Even if it's only like a few hundred words in size. So, break down. 1) Make a list of prompts. 365 worth of them. (I have a couple extra just in case). 2) Have a way to randomly choose the prompt each day. 3) Write something each day. If you miss a day (or just write on the weekends) play catch up along with the day's prompt. 4) Let them sit at least a week before you edit it, sent it to the beta/editor/whatever, do the rest of your editing process, then post. 5) Hopefully get reviews. Now, I'm going to start it. When I post it, I will probably format it so that before each prompt, it will have the date for the prompt, the prompt itself, and any warnings that I may have. It'll most likely look like this: 8/11/2019 Prompt: Skin Warnings: Gore, blood I hope to have a good time with this and not get to behind on the story. Wish me luck? *goes to start*
  9. They would. Now, if Artemis (my kitty, sister to the pinner fo earlier) would stop trying to steal my sketch pad, I would be good. *eyes the kitty*
  10. Mine was somewhere. This fluff ball is mom's and she decided my hip was a good spot to loaf. You're just all sorts of help.. Though, Salem, good choice. My waist line cries. And thank you. I love cat dragons. I swear that Miracle (the fluff that was pinning me down earlier) has dragon in her. She hoards paper balls.
  11. I've done it before. I'll be writing out a blog when I wake up about my plans and how I do this.
  12. Help...i've been pinned by a fluffy meowing thing that has claw that knead. And I want the last of my coffee.....
  13. It is. I am sipping a cup...watching the sun come up. I have a date to rest for tomorrow. I might just start my 365 days of prompts. Because all I'm getting today is a nap. *makes a fresh cup*
  14. So I see. It's Vanilla Starbucks coffee. I got a bag of it on sale last month. *hands over a fresh cup*
  15. Y'all are making me hungry. It's barely 6am here and I need sleep of some kind soon...but I do have some potatoes that I could do a little frying on and some eggs...and potato bread. *clings to her coffee cup*
  16. Going to bed early, he found himself waking up woke up that morning with a low groan, staggering out of bed and into the bathroom. Turning on the light, he squinted at the low lighting. Turning on the shower, he wondered when his mother had gotten into jewel tones for anything, remembering her as a purely pastel lover, before stepping under the heated fall of water. It didn’t take him very long to wake up and finish showering, drying and dressing quickly after, rubbing at his head some more
  17. Staring up at the house that he had spent a good part of his younger childhood before his family scattered, Tristian pursed his lips. He knew that he was the first one to arrive being the one to own the house since their mother had passed, at least outside of his aunt. Their father hadn’t wanted it and hadn’t put up a fight beyond getting a few things that had been shoved into the basement. He could still remember the fights that had happened beyond the front doors of the large Georgian Col
  18. They had been pulled apart, their mother slowly falling into her mind, when he had been six. But now their mother had died just a month before and her will had asked for them to come together at least one last time to get what she has left behind for them. They thought they would walk away with a piece of liquidated estate and money for their own lives. They hadn't expected to find themselves coming back together as siblings. A 2017 Christmas Story.
  19. What does one do when she is unable to sleep because Insomnia and Midnight Zoomies via ESA cats? Why come on this lovely site and update you guys as to what is going to go down with my stories and what you can expect in the future! That's what. A little history: I lost everything that I was writing, editing and posting at the time (mostly fanfiction but also every single original WIP that I had) about 4 years ago. My flashdrive reformatted. Twice. I was lucky in the way that I was able to get a good chunk of information back and that I use GDocs at the time. I was very lucky in a couple cases that my beta (who I still have, she is wonderful) had some of my stories still in her own inbox. But I still lost soooo much. Such as the full file of A Butterfly's Dream and Crimson Shadows. Lucky for me, I had already posted every chapter that I had written was readily available on Y!Gallery (before some jerk destroyed it, it is now being rebuilt). This includes most of my stories. What it does not include is the rest of the story that I was co-writing with the lovely Morena Darkling. They passed a while ago. They are...gone. And I don't have the rest of our story. And I couldn't even look at it right now to post because it still hurts. Even after all of these years. If you look at it on my page right now, you will notice a new note on the summary that states that they are gone and that the current status is Author Deceased. It still hurts. Okay, not that is over with. Let me go through the stories that are on hold right now and what is going down with them. One story at a time. This might get a little long. Bits and Pieces: I'm actually going back and tweaking a few things in all of the Bits and Pieces. There was some fuss with another site when they had to transfer from one server to another so my files are currently messy with symbols, so I figured I'd might as well do some light shining of the stories. This does include these. Now that I remember that I have them... Fangs and Claws: Another story that I was working on with my lovely Kev (known as sweetseme at one time), but has since been lost. Enjoy what is here. Crimson Shadows: I did finish this story! But, I am also rewriting this story in full. Why am I rewriting this? Because when I wrote it, I tried to write two books into one. That didn't work so now I'm expanding on it. Crimson Shadows in the future will cover chapters 1 to 7, but more fleshed out. The squeal will be Dripping Roses and cover chapters 8 to 21 and expanded into it's own story. A Conversation with My Muse: Yeah, remember when I said I lost my files? I meant it. I don't have this at all. In any form fashion or way. A Butterfly's Dream: I...kind of got blocked on where I wanted to go with this story. It started to take a turn that the original chapters just didn't fit. So I'm going to scrap it and restart the entire series. I will be posting the chapters that I did get done, once I do some light sprucing up on them. But it's not my main focus right now. Now, for the stories that are my main focus. Books and Roses: This story was a request from my beta a while ago. About four years ago. I am in the process of expanding and rewriting the entire thing. This is going to take time but I hope to have it done before December. I hope. Genre: Romance 11 Paranormal/Supernatural/Spooky/Dark/Ect stories for the Month of Halloween: This is just as it says on the tin guys. It's 11 stories that I will be posting during the month of October. I am currently rewriting and editing story 7 and each one will have their own warnings at the time. In nice bright Bold even. Each story is set in a story world and were me getting to know my worlds even more. Genre: Horror/Supernatural/Paranormal Bad Dog: Currently the original first chapters are being rewritten and expanded out, the details spread a bit more. There was an info dumping situation that wouldn't let me move forward on it but I'm fixing that now and figuring out more chapters. This is the first story in a series so I'm hoping it's well received when I post it. Genre: Comedy-horror All You Need: This kind of a futuristic romance fic. Originally 5 chapters but I'm pretty much rewriting it from scratch to build the world and the romance in a proper way. Not high on my list right now but something I poke at randomly. Random Horror Romance: This is pretty much me flipping a bird during the CockyGate thing that happened hard in Romanciland. It was not pretty let's just say that. But one of my favorite authors (who I found because of this) wrote a story called His Cocky Valet (now with sequel called His Cocky Cellist) as a middle finger wishfulfilment story. I love it and I love his seriously long series (We're talking episodic kind of story, and we just got done with season one). His name is Cold McCade and I love his stuff. But this was me doing it because he told me I should. So I am. I think that is all for the moment, so please be on the look out for new stories (most of which are from the last couple of years for the moment). If you have questions or comments, feel free to DM me or just comment below. I'll answer when I see it.
  20. I have contacted them. I just wait for an answer and I go read. Cause I should be editing. I'm...procrastinating. Hard core. But it will get done soon.
  21. I will do so once I figure out who is who and who is best to contact. It's good to be back. I'm going back to my digging around on the forums. Catch up on things.
  22. Seven. Years. Has it really been that long? Yes, yes it has. It has been that long. When I last popped up, I was 28 years. It has been an insane, intense 7 years. My mother started having physical issues in 2002. Mid-2003, she found out what she was having issues with and we started to work on getting her disability. 2003, she had surgery 3 different times, the second time rather minor and just to make sure things were fine with the first surgery. In the last seven years, life has gotten better in some ways and so not good in others. My mother was in an accident just over a year ago. She's doing better but she now has more issues than before. I have become her full time caretaker, which means I do have a lot of time whenever she doesn't need me. I am now dating a lovely woman for over 2 years (about 2 and a half years) now. We co-own a mutt called Westerfield, and a MinPin/Chihuahua mix named Princess, and a cat named Muse. She doesn't live with me or mother currently due to issues, but we still see each other every week and talk nearly daily. Me and my mother both have ESA cats. Mine is named Artemis, and my mother's is Artemis' baby sister, Miracle. And they were born from Muse and my girl's roommate's male cat, Loki. I am mentally meh. Going back to therapy and hopefully getting back into the communities that I have missed because of the insanity of the last 7 years. I am writing and will be posting things once I figure out all of the things that have changed in the years since I've been here. It is good to be back and I hope life is good for you all. Still trying to figure out if I can somehow change my display name. I don't use that name now and I don't want to have to create a new account...
  23. What have I been up to? Let me list it off. Drabble A Day: I started a fanfiction Drabble a Day on my birthday, March 26. I'm into Week 3 now and on drabble 17, which I'll write tomorrow. I nearly have enough pairings to last me the year. National Novel Writing Month: I won 2011 NaNoWriMo, again. I wrote a fanfiction called 'Like a Bullet' and it is a fanfiction since all of my original ideas at the time were in production. I'm currently finishing off typing it and editing chapter 9. There's something like 20 to 30 very long chapters for this one. A Butterfly's Dream: I am still indeed editing this story but it is slow going since I'm not sure how I want to end it just yet. I'm also working on A Butterfly's Dance (prequel) and A Butterfly's Flight (sequel). MTPictures, my friend who owns one of the characters I do use in my stories, is working on The Demons Toy 2. Crimson Shadows: Finished and posted at 21 chapters. That was fun. Crimson Shadows sequel: I know I'm planning on calling it "Merry Frickin' Christmas" (being nice enough to change that middle word there) and have an idea of what to write. Midnights Taste: This story spawned from the bunny that spawned Like a Bullet. I have about 2 chapters written, the prologue complete, somewhat. It's going to take time for this one to come out since I have some major ideas for it and I want it to read a certain way. Unfortunately, psychological horror is a new world for me. Hack and slash, paranormal...not so much. Psychological horror yes. Essays for my Muse 1: I have started to post this series here. The first chapter will be posted this coming Friday and then for four fridays after, the other four chapters I have edited will post. Got to love that nifty little feature. Essays for my Muse 2: Killers and Murders: I am already planning out what I'm doing for the second round. I have 8 killers/murders/mysteries jotted down. The Blood Countess (Ezebet Bathory otherwise known as Elizabet Bathory), Teh Taman Shud Case (suggested by a friend and this one makes me giggle like a school girl), Mary Ann Cottom, Genene Ann Jones, Ruth Snyder, Marie Hilley, and Nannie Doss are all on my list for the moment. I'm going to collect somewhere between 10 to 30 choices to write about. Essays for my Muse 3: Paranormal, Supernatural and Cryptids: Part 3 of this series will focus on hauntings, creatures and other such things like that. I just have to figure out just what I'm going to do. I know that I'm going to do mythical creatures like dragons, fairies, vampires and the such, but it will extend beyond what is widely known and dip into some not so known subjects. Just a matter of time. General life: I am planning on moving from where I currently live to Kentucky with a friend of mine. She has been here for me through thick and thin just like I have for her and I just need to move, both for my health and my mothers. She's kinda bad off right now. My mom officially has arthritis in her back along with spinal spurs, so it makes it hard for her to move around. She can still take care of herself, just adds to her pain. General Life cont.: My own knee has been acting up like no tomorrow and I have no idea why. So I need to head to my doctor next month, when I have some cash, and check that out. Along with my heel that feels like something is slicing through the skin. Throbs like you wouldn't believe. Anyways, outside of that, not a whole lot has happened.
  24. *~*~*~* Fending off various classmates and teachers throughout his day, David gladly grabbed his books and notebooks from his locker before nearly running for the twins’ car. Sighing softly, he slid into it after unlocking the door with the keys he had stolen from Markus earlier that day. He didn’t want to have to wait for the twins while they stopped by their own lockers, knowing that various people would stop them on the way out. Getting comfortable in the back seat, his legs stretched
  25. So, I haven't really been active here right? Yeah, I've been...ehh lately. I think I remember telling you all about the gallbladder surgery around June, July 2011. I've healed from that, no problems. But I've been exceedingly busy with other things. I have finished writing, editing and posting Crimson Shadows which is a kind of sequel to A Butterfly's Life series, which includes A Butterfly's Dream. I am working on editing chapter 5 of A Butterfly's Dream. I'm also adding more information about Clary and Davids relationship. I'm sure those of you who have read the story before remember that they were dating for about 3 weeks before Clary was killed on Pastor Alex's command. A friend and fellow writer, MTPictures, suggested that I add some details about it so I am. I have started to post A Butterfly's Dream on DeviantArt. My name on there is SweetStuff23 and you'll get the low down on A Demons Toy Book 1 and A Demons Toy Book 2. I'll get into how that works between me and her down below. I've been working on several fanfictions, along with a few originals. Fanfictions, despite playing in anothers world, are easier to write to a point. I don't have to worry about creating characters and worlds, so they tend to come easier to me. The originals that I am working on are Merry F*ckin' Christmas, the sequel to Crimson Shadows, Follow Me Down, an Alice in Wonderland derivative and Midnights Taste, which is much darker then my other stories. At least that's how I'm hoping it'll turn out. I'm also typing up and writing a few commission pieces for a friend, also originals. So far, I believe that is all that I really need to touch down on. Now, to explain to you how A Butterfly's Dream and A Demons Toy works between me and MT-Pictures (also found on DevArt). The two worlds are intertwined. I do use some of her characters, as she uses mine. The story set up that we have goes something like this: A Butterfly's Dance: Rye's Story A Demon's Toy A Butterfly's Dream/A Demons Toy Book 2 (They somewhat coincide with each other since ADT has parts that are in ABD) A Butterfly's Flight Like I said, they're intertwined together but you don't really have to read the Demons toy set to get what's happening in the Life series, there would just be a few things that aren't explained since they were explained in detail in A Demons Toy and to explain in myself would take much more time then really needed. So, for now, I hope to see you guys around some more and enjoy yourselves with life! Oh! By the by, I have a face book account under this name. :3 So if you want, look me up, tell me who you are and friend me to get more up to date statements on what I'm doing.
