    Chapter 17

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

    Chapter 17

I'm glad you liked the scene with Devon. I thought it was some fun comic relief. He must have been pretty freaked out.

    Chapter 17

You're right, and I think it was really important for Cam, because he was able to establish his independence, at least to a degree. And if you think about it, that had to mean a lot to Brad, because Cam showed him that he wasn't just out to scam him.

    Chapter 17

Maarten, you are such a drama queen. ;-) Sometimes things take time to build. Have I let you down yet? I think JJ is bright, but I think his latest moves show him to be more manipulative than smart. If you think about it, he's been playing his brothers all his life (that's what the tattle-tale deal was), so he's a pro. I think Brad is learning to date all over again, and it's not just about the initial moves.

    Chapter 17

JJ is the kind of guy who gets what he wants, one way or another. I think Brad laid the cash thing out for Cam, but if you re-read what he was saying, you'll see that while Brad is being confident, he's probably more insecure about that then Cam.

    Chapter 17

JJ is now innocent flower. If you think about it though, that's a good act, and no one really knows what to expect from them. I don't think the age difference makes a difference with Cam and Brad. I think that at this point, it's about relative maturity. For someone like Brad, a relatively mature guy in his 20s is probably the ideal candidate. Still young (and hot) but beyond that phase in life where he's all about the parties.

    Chapter 17

October 1, 2002 Boston JJ I felt Alex rubbing against me as he stretched out, and that woke me up. I remembered walking into the bedroom when I was younger, and seeing my father and Robbie all intertwined, but I didn’t get into that. I liked cuddling right after sex, or maybe right when we went to bed (or at least I think I would), but after a bit, I needed my own space. Alex seemed to understand that. He’d fallen asleep while spooned up behind me, and then he’d event
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. Great recs as usual, but the Ani DiFranco song sucks in comparison to the original.

    Chapter 16

As I was writing this chapter, I could almost feel Brad's conflict...the hormonal lust for Dustin and his appreciation for a good piece of ass, matched with a bit of disdain for the inherent sluttiness of the whole deal.

    Chapter 16

Brad can learn. And he's still a good top. ;-)

    Chapter 16

That's pretty funny, and a pretty astute observation...I thought about the pizza guy stereotype after I wrote it, but decided to leave it in. Just because something is cliche, doesn't mean it can't be hot. ;-) Brad's learning curve isn't always as smooth as we may like, but as you noted in one of your previous reviews, he's a smart guy, and he ultimately figures things out. It may also be that on his own, he may not be as happy as he was with Robbie, but he may be more stable, at least emotionally.

    Chapter 16

I tend to overlook the fact that it took Brad so long to come around and credit him for actually coming around in the end. I think he'll learn to do better...although when he gets really stressed out, it's easy to see him forgetting the lessons he's learned. The others give Will a bunch of crap for seeing things in black and white, with no gray, but I think that gives him a clearer picture of right and wrong. What they all don't seem to get is that the gray areas are where people often make poor decisions, primarily through rationalization.

    Chapter 16

We've seen Brad's style with Stefan in a work environment, and it's purposefully confrontational, where he often finds himself playing the Devil's advocate. It would make sense that he would take that style and require significant evidence and persuasion to change course in his personal life.

    Chapter 16

You make a good point, in that we're seeing Brad start to move on. His deal with JJ perhaps illustrates that the most...where his initial knee-jerk reaction is to handle things as he had in the past, but with some input (albeit somewhat unpleasant as it was) he is able to adapt and handle JJ much better.

    Chapter 16

Thanks for the nice review! I like that you picked up on how tight Will and JJ (and Darius) are. I think after the crucible that was 9-11, they all got closer, even if it isn't always obvious.

    Chapter 16

I think Brad did well, but only after some coaching. ;-)

    Chapter 16

It's kind of hard to figure out exactly what Alex' motives are here. He may genuinely be into JJ, or he may be a bit flighty, where he goes for the easiest, most appealing person in front of him. We haven't really seen him in a relationship that had longevity, only the deal with Matt and Wade.

    Chapter 16

I'm glad you liked it. And if I knew where that pizza place was, I may have to move to New York. :-)

    Chapter 16

Brad is probably glad to do just that, after spending a week bottoming for Chris.

    Chapter 16

September 30, 2002 Connecticut JJ The limo pulled up to the guard station at the entrance to Triton, and I wondered if my father would be pissed off enough at me to keep me out, but I hadn’t really been that awful to him on the phone the other night. Well, at least not compared to Will. “Mr. Schluter, the guards will need to talk to you,” the driver said. “That’s fine,” I said. The driver rolled the window down, and revealed the f

    Chapter 15

I'm glad you like him, but I would submit that he is "the bitchy one". :-)

    Chapter 15

Thanks Maarten! I actually think JJ is being manipulative. I think he's willing to do pretty much whatever he needs to do to get what he wants.
