I think that even if it's a joke, Brad would find it annoying. He would hate not being in control.
We'll assume that Gathan is having a busy semester at Stanford with school and hockey. The logical candidate to bring us up to speed on him...Will...is pretty focused on Zach right now. He hasn't been hanging out at the rink on the weekends, it seems.
I'm glad you liked the arrest. One member of my team said he had figured it out from the beginning. (Rolling eyes). Some people are like that. ;-)
I think that JJ will subconsciously appreciate it, but Darius probably made the most astute observation. As long as Alex is there, JJ will be happy.
I thought it would be kind of cool to show Brad in this situation, completely out of control, yet things end up turning out probably exactly like he wanted them to. I wonder if he'll figure that out.

“Happy Birthday,” Grace said cheerfully as I walked into my office. Grace was my executive assistant here at Carruthers & Schluter, but she’d been away from the office for the past two months. They’d found a lump in her breast, and it had been malignant, so she’d ultimately ended up having a mastectomy. She’d come back to work on Monday, and it had been a total relief. I quickly transferred the woman who had filled in for her,
I think that Wade's behavior in this chapter was bitchy to the point of being ridiculous. I think it's really petty the way he constantly hangs hockey over Matt's head. At the same time, I do think he has a point about Hammer.
The cool thing about this chapter, IMHO, is how Matt handled things. He jumped in and did what he needed to do to make Wade happy (even if he didn't think he should have...although we don't know whether or not that's the case). And he listened to Wade, and understood some of Wade's really legitimate issues. And I think that as Wade reflects on this, he'll realize that Matt is a different beast than he was a year ago.
Well put. Wade was an idiot, but like I said earlier, these two are learning to be monogamous, and learning to be in a relationship all over again. It's not all that long since they've been reconciled.
Thanks! It's always good that the characters seem 'human' or 'real' to you guys. They do to me, but I live in my own, twisted mind, so perspective is hard to get.
"JP's parents were a basket of kittens compared to the vipers that raised Wade." LMAO!!!
Both JP and Wade have shown themselves to be very emotional when they have issues with their partners. It's like Matt is cryptonite to Wade, much as Jeff, Sam, Roger, Mouse, and Stef were to JP.
Thanks for the review, Kevin! The issue here is that Wade and Matt lost it (well, mostly Wade), but instead of completely coming unglued, they worked it out. They're learning how to be in a monogamous relationship for the first time.
I think Wade was blatantly trying to make Matt jealous, but it was probably a good lunch, and particularly good at clearing the air between Wade and Alex.
When I wrote that, I was thinking about how relationships will always be tested. Personally, I don't think that being out for three hours without calling was a big deal, but if you put in into the context of their past, it was understandable why Wade came a little unglued.

I looked at the clock, as if I stared at it the time wouldn’t be 11:45pm. For the first time in a long time, I was pissed off at Matt. We’d gone to see JJ perform his short program, and then Matt had barely had time to hurry over to Simoni for hockey practice. I usually went on Thursdays, but after devoting most of my evening to JJ’s competition, I had to spend the rest of the night on my studies.
The practice was at 7:00, and
