I think that Tony as he is now is not a good match for Will. I wonder what Tony will be like five years in the future.

Coming from the author it speaks for itself..... Dana "may" sounds like she is going to. She is a cold hearted bitch and she's not going to go away easily. Great Chapter Mark. That's an interesting thought that hadn't really occurred to me: that Tony grew some balls because he was jealous of Rick and Will hooking up. Hmmm.

I think you're seeing a pattern that will be clearer over the next few chapters. :-)I'm not sure that "happily ever after" happens to most couples. People change and evolve so much over the years, it's inevitable that they will sometimes grow apart and have conflicts. But for the most part, there are a number of happily ever after couples that probably will end up just fine in CAP.

I spent a lot of time hanging out at Mizzou in the late 80's, so it's quite possible that we could have unknowingly run into each other. Never went to the Sub Shop much. I spent most of my food time in Columbia at Shakespeares, Booches, or the Heidelburg.

I wonder if Will can handle that ride too. I think he has a hard time divorcing his feelings for Tony from sex because the sex is so good, and that inevitably sucks him in to Tony's twisted world.

You missed Will's big reason for being irritated with Tony about Rick. Tony told Will that when they were together (as in doing something together, like this float trip) he wouldn't fuck around on him. Will's not expecting Tony to be a faithful boyfriend, and he's not promising to do the same. He is expecting to be Tony's center of attention on this trip, which is reasonable, considering Tony invited him and he's being led into a group of friends who aren't his. He was also expecting Tony to fuck around with only him on this trip, another reasonable conclusion based on Tony's promises. I totally agree with you on the slut phase, but I'm not sure Tony will have one of those. It's possible he's having that right now.

CAP and Bridgemont Anachronisms And Nitpicks

Just because a name wasn't popular doesn't mean it's an anachronism. As Gene said, it could very well have been a family name. -
Things were going well then you met this guy, and he cooled off considerably. Everyone else who's talked about how he's probably grappling with coming out may be right, but there's a chance the chemistry just wasn't there, and he didn't feel it. That's not to say you're not attractive, just not attractive to him. Regardless, it sounds like you've expended enough effort pursuing him while he hasn't shown any real interest (doesn't respond right away, and when he does, it's more or less to placate you). So if you want my opinion, it sounds like he's just not into you. Best thing to do is to ignore him, IMHO. If he is into you, let him make the moves for a change. If not, you need to move on anyway.

O'Connells is way better than Blueberry Hill, although Blueberry Hill has a great ambiance. Maybe they'll go back there, though. I'll bet Will would like the Delmar Loop.

I think that everyone has pelted Will with warnings about how fragile Tony's psyche is that the dude is likely to get off pretty easy with Will. Then again, Will's patience has some limits. SMILE
