For me, it was the battle with the ocean. The Pacific is not pacific at all, and to go out and fight the waves, and occasionally conquer them is a total rush. When I come in from the surf, I am usually exhausted, relaxed, and happy. Not to mention wet and sandy. 😀

That may not have been true when our story takes place. Plus, it makes sense that if you take a bunch of overachievers and put them in Harvard, they will probably do well. Curve grading is grossly unfair.
