    Chapter 68

The first story is Chronicles of an Academic Predator. If you start there, don’t let the second story, 1968, bum you out. Another entry point is Be Rad, and another place to start is with Bloodlines.

    Chapter 68

March 8, 2004 Palo Alto, CA Will I walked out of the television room with Casey then paused in the foyer to chat. “That was an interesting evening,” he said, shaking his head. I laughed. “Marie’s favorite line about me is this: Drama, everywhere you go.” Casey laughed with me, then got serious. “How are you doing?” he asked. I gave him an annoyed look. “I’m asking because I want to go home and get some sleep,

    Chapter 71

One might note that Granger is an officer and a gentleman, while Caroline is a politician. 😀

    Chapter 71

Caroline may have pushed things to far for her to give in. We’ll see. The Duke of Suffolk isn’t part of the Prince’s set, so he probably isn’t there much, but he would make the occasional visit.

    Thanks!
  6. June 24, 1801 Portland Place London, UK A very annoyed George Granger sat down to break his fast. The dinner party he’d thrown last night had been an unquestionable success, and he had the hangover to prove it, but that was not the cause of his irritation. His eyes settled first on Daventry, who was doing a good job of hiding his own ravages from last night, but he was not the reason Granger was vexed either. His eyes finally settled on Cavendish and narrowed as they

    Chapter 67

This was an excellent comment and a good question. This is a really good response to that really good question, but I'll expand. First of all, Will's view of family is of a united group that can trust each other completely. I'm trying to think of a time when one member of this family has betrayed another member to an outsider, and only came up with one, so they're pretty rare. He knows that Travis's sexuality secret is safe with them. Next, I think Will had to do that to give everyone context. His fight with Zach and the reasons for that was probably a major issue to many of them, even though we've all had time to hear about it a few times. 😀That level of betrayal by Zach requires, IMHO, that Will explain their love triangle. "We had a fight" is not going to work with this group. It's also interesting to note that the concept was that it was okay to tell Grand, Stef, Brad, and Jake but not the others. The others would be Ryan, John, Marie, and Claire, as well as Frank and Grandmaman. I think that with Ryan and his cousins, Will was, in addition to his candor, letting them know the deal for the Spring Break trip to Hawaii with Travis. Frank definitely needs to understand the entire reason, because otherwise he won't get off the Zach bandwagon. As for Grandmaman and Claire, I can't imagine they would betray Travis. That would be completely out of character for them, or more to the point, it would de-polarize their internal moral compasses. I'm remembering Will's conversation with Travis about Stef possibly outing him, and Will mentioned that the pain he'd incur for doing that would be too much for Stef to bear. I think that applies not just to Stef, but to all of them. It's also important to remember that to enforce all of this family cohesion and trust, JP is standing there waiting with his cold, steely look to admonish any of his family members who would go so badly off track.

    Chapter 67

March 8, 2004 Palo Alto, CA Will We were riding in the huge Cadillac Escalade limo that Stef preferred. No one else used it unless we had to convey a bunch of people. I was sitting in the back facing forward with Casey across from me, Stef was next to me with my father across from him, and finally Grand was on the other side of Stef with Jake across from him. “I’m amazed that you got him sprung,” Dad said to Casey jovially. “That was not easy,” Casey said, sha

    Chapter 70

St. Vincent was known for being stubborn and refused to tolerate any insubordination. He generally detested aristocratic officers, thinking they demanded more than they deserved. I think that unless he is desperate for Granger’s help, that won’t happen, but you never know.

    Chapter 70

I think it’s important to remember that royalty and aristocracy are different, but still..yeah. 😀 Caroline is probably focused on ensuring her late father’s wishes are adhered to.
  11. June 22, 1801 The House of Lords London, UK “While you were gone, we moved,” The Duke of Suffolk said to his son playfully as he led him up to the White Chamber. Previously the Lords had sat in the Queen’s Chamber, which was considerably smaller. “This is most definitely different, and much larger as well,” Granger said, as he and his father strode up to the Bar, the barrier beyond which visitors could not pass. “Whe

    Chapter 66

I think Will isn’t responding to them because he doesn’t think they have any right to even ask him about it. I also think there’s still enough of that destructive boy in him to do it.

    Chapter 66

March 8, 2004 Escorial Palo Alto, CA Will I’d been in a very bad mood on the way here. I was really worried about Travis, really confused about what the fuck Curtis Buck was doing, and really pissed that I had to be here instead of in Malibu with Travis. The limo pulled through the gates and my mood immediately began to improve. I hadn’t been here for what seemed like forever, and I had forgotten how important Escorial and the people who lived here were to me.

First off, welcome to my world. Glad you’re here! I disagree with your above statement. I think George would survive the social scandal after a time, while Caroline would not.

March 7, 2004 Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) New York, NY Will “I brought some shrooms with me,” Travis said as we drove up to the museum. I smiled. “That should make the art totally kick-ass,” I said. “We have to take about half what we’d normally do. We can’t be losing our shit in here.” He laughed even as we divided up the nasty fungi. “Maybe a little less,” he said, pulling some back. We got sodas out of the mini fridge and swallowed the magic

I look at it this way: if you’re a multimillionaire and demand one of New York’s (presumably) best stylists to fix your hair via a house call with no notice, it’s going to cost you.

Still 😂over that gif. So JJ. 😂😂😂 As some of us know, that can take time and is rarely easy or convenient.
