March 7, 2004 New York, NY Will JJ and I were in the elevator heading up to JJ’s condo. We stood as far apart as possible from each other, both of us annoyed. He glared at me, but I gave him a withering look in return. That prompted a sigh from him. “Will you cooperate with me on this deal?” he asked. “Up to a point,” I said. “In two hours, a hairstylist and a makeup artist will be here to work on you,” he said, exasperated. We got out of the elevat

Everything gets on your nerves. 😃 Exactly. I know, right? That will be interesting. I wonder how JJ and Bellona will react when that hits. Something to think about.
-
I’m just imagining how JJ would react if he realized that’s what he was doing and I’m laughing my ass off.

I’m not sure it was so bold for that crowd.

March 7, 2004 New York, NY Will JJ and I strolled across the tarmac to the waiting jet copter. The temperature was projected to reach 60 degrees, which was much warmer than I had expected. That was largely offset by the cloudy skies, which seemed determined to inject their gloominess into my mood. We got into the jet copter and I paused to look at it. It was like a limo for the sky. There were two large reclining seats facing forward, with a nice console in between

The Gap Year Music Recs

I’ve always loved that Whitney Houston song! -
An interesting question, and one that I don’t recall answering before. I think that Hornblower has the most influence on Granger, and since he seemed to be derived from Lord Cochrane, he is also an apt model. At the same time I found many of Hornblower’s personality traits annoying, while Cochrane was a born rebel, much like Sydney Smith. I made George the opposite of them in many ways, but gave him a different challenge with his sexuality.

OK, this is a bit unfair. Let's look at Hawkesbury when he was younger:

I think the fact that Granger isn't rushing to the Admiralty says a lot about how his focus has shifted. In this situation, he will be in much more demand by the other departments of the government. Plus he's still very annoyed with St. Vincent.

June 21, 1801 Brentwood For the third day in a row, Granger found himself being jostled by rough roads, only this time he was riding in his own carriage, which was much more luxurious and much better sprung than the one they’d hired. “Your carriage is almost as posh as your vozok,” Daventry joked. “It is important to travel in style,” Granger said vapidly. He was in a good mood, having spent last night bonding with Cavendish both physically and emotionally. He ha

I have most of them in epub format. They’ve even been revised in some cases. Send me an email (markarbour2000@yahoo.com) and tell me which ones you want.

Options 2&3 are feasible. Will would never do option 1 because it would violate his core values.

He may indeed be more of his father’s son. 😈

March 5, 2004 In the Air The middle of the US Will “Tough time for you,” Darius said sympathetically. I nodded. “Thanks for listening to me,” I said. I’d poured my heart out to him on the plane, telling him all about my drama with Travis and Zach, and he’d listened to me and even hugged me when I’d cried. “Those two have some fucked up deal going on,” he said, shaking his head. “I guess I knew that going in,” I said. “I mean, what kind of

March 2, 2004 Paradise Cove Diner Malibu, CA Will “This is like ‘our’ restaurant,” Travis joked as we ate some clam chowder. “That’s real romantic of you, big guy,” I teased. “I’m suave and debonair,” he said as he winked at me. Of course, I cracked up. It seemed like most of the time I was around Travis I was laughing. “And fucking hot,” I said. “Yeah, that too,” he agreed, pretending to be that cocky, then he got more serious. “H

I have issues with this blurb, but that’s probably because it was written for a specific show. Footmen were tall, handsome men, but the livery they wore was the choice of their employer, it wasn’t prescribed. Footmen would definitely ride on the carriage in town, but in this situation, where they were needed as torch bearers, they’d ride a horse. We’ve already seen Granger take a footman or two with him when he went riding at Brentwood or in the country, so we know at least a few of them are skilled horsemen.

June 20, 1801 South of Chelmsford “We will make Brentwood before nightfall,” Granger said confidently. They’d just managed to travel through Chelmsford without too many delays, although the crowds had been big. Granger mused that it was lucky that Chelmsford was the last town they’d transit before Brentwood, as they were running very low on copper coins. “If it were just the two of us, we could have just ridden and arrived yesterday,” Dave

March 1, 2004 Hotel Bel Air Bel Air, CA Will I held Travis for a long time, just hugging him tightly as I felt the anguish and pain fade from his body. It didn’t entirely go away, but it lessened with each second of our embrace. He finally broke off our hug and looked at me, while I gently wiped the tears off his cheeks. “What happened?” I asked softly. “Got into a fight,” he said, and grimaced. “You got into a fight?” I asked stupidly. Even as
