  1. here's the technical presentation rough estimate prices 2 x Intel Zeon E5 => 2x425 => 850.00 DDR3 1866 32GB .............=> 279.00 AMD FirePro 2gb .............. => 430.00 heat sink n fan................... => 80.00 wifi stuff ............................ => 45.00 casing .............................. => 60.00 it looks like $1,744 in parts plus R&D cost and Apple Markup not including hard drive, monitor, etc dyson like design ... air flow from top to bottom ... low accumulation of dust ... easy to clean Its a good design ... but it might have a hefty price ... probably a good time for those waiting to upgrade Looks fine on a desktop ... not sure about putting under the desk ... esp w the hard drive the public reactions I found ... its mixed and its a bit funny
  2. Xbox One $500 is that too much? console, controller, kinect kinect .. 100.00 base ... 243.00 bluray ... 56.00 500 gb. 100.00 xbox 360 => 499.00 base ... 174.00 dvd ..... 25.00 250 gb. 100.00 kinect .. 100.00 oh gosh MSFT has some battle ahead by Sony being undercutted
  3. oh the goat triangle will stall writing
  4. Its slightly confused with either fresh water ice or salt water ice. Fresh water ice melts quicker and should provide quicker n colder runoff than salt water ice If its more salt water ... then couldn't less coolant for the streams be a problem as well as too much another issue is that the sea level is rising and that slows down the effect of the gulf stream while we're getting more violent storms the issue is when the barrier (the salt water ice) errodes quicker and exposes the fresh water ice
  5. well its nice to find out that the ozone layer at the poles * North will heal by 2040 * South will heal by 2065 barring any human habits or natural disasters but in the mean time solar effects will still be around I'm not sure that considers when we all follow the treaty to curb our pollution the quicker the better unless politics gets in the way I hope we don't get weirder storms but they are coming
  6. lol, I prefer the TV series SuperNatural n Ancient Aliens ... it makes sense as a post-bible story (angel civil war) the problem in the series the angels n demons find a way of coming back ... and this god ... never makes an entrance it clears up that these demons n gods need vessels to interact in the human world as for literary gods ... the old classic ones are there in spirit ... the new ones ... can they really be gods without using any other classic gods work ie... if Star Trek invented the Warp Drive ... its not good for another syfy to use Warp Drive in their works (licencing rights) ie: Asimov Robots ... the 3 laws ... without that would other author robot stories not be possible? of course its interesting when a human consciousness is in a robot body ... that can violate the three laws can an author writes a robot story w/o the 3 laws at all ... then argue safety protocols are broken (still isn't that an indirect reference to asimov?) I've not read any literary court cases nor checked if these syfy stories obtained a licencing right
  7. Nice article on THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF ICE Have you ever observe your ice cubes in a cup of liquid ... from hot to room temperature to refrigerated As temperature goes up ... the gases in the ice expand and help break the ice lattice structure the ice on the edges around the perimeter of the land are subject to the rising temperatures of the ocean the heated air from our summer months flow over the land ... the combination causes the large ice masses to break because their lattices can no longer hold the weight of the big ice mass in place fracturing ice ... refrozen ... and then thawed and then refrozen ... doesn't guarantee it will hold up another big mass of ice together eventually you will have a lot of ice breaking off because of weak lattices even if u are at 0c true, not in our lifetime will all the ice melt ... but we will witness bigger changes in weather there are many things we could do to slow the damage we've done ... but business n politicians doesn't see the long term gains one idea is to do something with the Sahara desert in Africa ... if we can reduce the size of the desert ... perhaps we can minimize the hurricanes we've been getting already nations are helping out with Africa => getting them to become self sufficient develop better technologies to reduce green house gases ... share the technology rather than sell it to make money get lesser developed countries to comply with these newer standards as long as we contribute to the rising temperature ... some future generation is going to witness a massive melt off of the ice already there is a group of photographers going around the americas mountains retaking photographs done over 40 to 100 yrs ago sharing with us the evidence of change ... ie: receding glaciers I do wonder if man didn't live on earth .... will the ice still melt and disappear? perhaps its yes since in 4.5 billion years the sun will burn up the planet that does say the sun will heat up the earth more as it gets older i do wonder ... the dino .. I hear lived on earth for 100 million years ... how long will man live?
  8. how is anti-desertification doing in Australia?
  9. Drone view of the wreckage
  10. Its easy to say man should give up to the natural course of life on earth for the damages it has done but man doesn't give up if it tries by finding solutions example anti-desertification
  11. Who is using this? or is this still R&D? wow $2,000(cpu)+$2,649(mem) .... at least $10,000 for one of these supercomputers downside ... the electric bill lol
  12. some say we've reach the level of the matrix ... ' Gosh one day all service would be replaced by supercomputers ... man will have nothing to do, lol It would be the matter of wide spread use of supercomputers at the corporate level ... than at the country level for science isn't the processors of supercomputers specialized ones ... so we won't really see an INTEL\AMD supercomputer
  13. The scientist believe that Yonaguni Monument is at least 10,000 years old so ice free since then could be 20,000 to 175,000 since the monument was above water is it beyond our ability to try to bring the earth climate back to normal?
  14. Intel at Taiwan trade show (at 24min to approx 37min) some demos of their new chips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEJJpC8a65A?t=24m
  15. If one day the earth is ice free, what will we do? drape white curtains on top of antarctica or at the north pole put a bone yard there and drape a white curtain there to resimulate or stimulate the earth former climate? goto ... it shows a nice before and after of antartica with or w/o snow while explaining the nasa new mapping tech http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/06/130605-nasa-map-sunken-mountains-antarctica-ice/
  16. lol, I thought adam west was fatman ... Batman

  19. Are the drones unjammable from the enemy? lol, low tech usually has a way to defend themselves that would puzzle high tech they will have idea of bringing them down and reverse engineer ... our country would not report losing drones so readily there are military trade shows ... drones will make its way to third world militaries one day lol, Hammer's drones will sell quickly
  20. why is skynet so evil? isn't it a lifeform that discovered how dangerous humans are to earth so the best solution is to eradicate it is it not the best solution? while a good cameron cash cow?
  21. actually science is looking at the earth in different ways; it all depends on our business use of it ie: we discovered on how to look inside of something by learning to visualize the sounds waves much like sonograms for pregnant women we map the oceans, find treasure, find ship wrecks, build better building after discovering what we're building on top of, rescue miners perhaps what we learn about gravity ... we can understand what happens when we launch something ... or what to consider when we build near high gravity the great thing with new theories ... the syfy writers are making better stories
  22. our oceans gives us an illusion that our earth is perfectly round if u look at the earth without water our world isn't perfectly round ... the example isn't a good representation because it doesn't show the other side of earth ... i think its very irregular there we've begun to realize that certain parts of earth has different gravity ie: the triangles and the trenches but now at least we're looking that those parts that you guys are talking about (impact craters n deposits) in a way will explain our scary stories like the bermuda triangle asside science is like an open forum ... not everyone accepts new theories until after ones death of defending it it does feel like every one believes their theory is right and dismissing a new theory is easier ie: I saw the movie of Louis Pastur ... the germ theory was ridiculed by those in power until the needs of the world was saved by the idea of a vaccine ie: Supermans father had to die to prove his theory that their world will explode ... he proved them wrong ... but the story is virial lol, a theory is like a work in progress ... no one has the time to honor or welcome another theory if it puts them out of the field while it takes away time from their research that keeps them gainfully employed n recognized I hope now .... after 50 years ... science is a little receptive to new theories ... but maybe not because business wants to see a profit ... unless yer google, lol
