1. Right. Tim is used to private schools, where the rules can be forced a little more effectively because the student body there is actually paying to go there, and they generally want to be there. Public schools are in constant threat of getting sued in a way that private schools are not. I mean, seriously- a teacher called a student "pathetic" and rude, and she gets suspended. You really think the bus monitor could have done or said anything to get them to stop? BTW, the money is up to 578k now. Damn. She doesn't actually think she's going to see that money, and I kinda gotta agree with her, but it's an amazing gesture nonetheless.
2. My middle school days were in the long ago days of 1998 to 2001, and yeah- I got shudders watching that and remembering just how incredibly evil most people are at that age, myself included. By around 11th grade most kids grow out of that kind of stuff, but in 7th/8th grade? It really is kill or be killed.
3. Ha, I came across the internship promotion video that I made last summer when I worked with the Delaware Museum of Natural History. It was a lot of fun, really, of all the internships I've done. I think it helped that interns were really allowed to interact with one another.
4. I don't know though- the tight pants were kind of nice. Did you see Ben Affleck's ass in Dazed and Confused?
5. Aside from Mike Vogel, I could totally see Ryan as Hunter Parrish. It depends on if Mark sees Ryan as having a rounder face, like Mike Vogel, or a long, angular face like Hunter Parrish. You really have a thing for blonds, don't you Mark? I think the majority of characters tend to be blonds. LOL.
6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufS3iibRXaM&feature=related Fans are fun.
7. I don't really crush on anyone, but I will say I totally won't object if Nathan89 wants to post more pictures of himself. I'm a sucker for that boy-next-door look.
8. Word. I saw a news story about a school teacher who was filmed berating a student, and people were calling to have that person fired. Yes, I'm sure that 5-year old did absolutely nothing wrong. Right. The bus monitor's hands were tied. You can't do anything but just roll your eyes and not say anything.
9. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/rays-turn-back-clock-uniforms-party-1979-213700184--mlb.html There's something funny about doing a 70's throwback uniform when the team didn't actually exist in the 70's. You gotta love how American that is- if you don't have a history, make one up!
10. I just remember that, for whatever reason, guys around Delaware started wearing longer hair again around 2003 and the short spiky look went bust, so I kind of figured that longer hair might have been around with surfer guys in California a few years earlier than that. (I tried to do the longer hair thing because I wanted my hair to look like Adam Brody's on the O.C. Did not work.) But eh, I'm deferring to you guys on this one. It'll be interesting to see what the consequences are for Will, because while Jeff will be annoyed, I can see Michael coming back with scorched Earth.
11. Whatever, I'm just saying that Tim saying that I shouldn't miss the 1980's is pretty ridiculous, and I know I'm right on that one.
12. I grew up in the blue-collar suburbs, and I grew up locking my doors and all that. Crime is definitely around, and you're always kind of looking over your shoulders. Newark, Delaware was once the heroin capital of the East Coast. That was the interesting thing about living in Western P.A. for two years- people there definitely didn't seem as concerned about crime there.
13. Right. I was going with Cody because Trevor Donovan is 33, but then again ages don't really matter. It's kind of hard to find actors that rock the whole straight, long bohemian lock, so I went with guys I knew had long hair. LOL. I still think Cappie is totally how I picture that guy's college personality.
14. Whatever, Tim. The point to all of this was that I grew up in and around 80's culture, and damn it, I feel entitled to miss the 1980's because I DID experience them.

Chapter 46

Would a surfer guy really care that much about a guy's hair being long? Wouldn't Will actually lean more towards liking longer hair on guys, given that's what he grew up around?
16. I had a really good therapist when I was 22. What made him good was that he was willing to call me on all my crap, which helped a lot. A good therapist can make all the difference - I'm glad Will's getting one. So, we're going to be immersed in JJ's figure skating world. I'm hoping he'll turn into a major rage diva throughout.
17. I read Mark's description of Will's new therapist, and I thought immediately, "an adult Cappie from Greek." Whenever I see Scott Michael Foster, I keep thinking, "Good-looking guy but he needs a haircut."
18. 77 games suspended? Isn't that like 5 years or something? Damn.
19. I watched a plethora of gay movies when I was coming to terms with being gay at the age of 14/15. Some films from that time that I really liked were Trick, Get Real, and Wild Reeds. Bedrooms and Hallways is another good mention- I don't think I saw it until later, but it's from that era. More recent films I've liked were Weekend and Were the World Mine.
20. You just proved Tim wrong. Hallelujah. This whole "debate", if you will, comes from this whole YouTube comment war between kids of the 90's vs. kids of the 2000's. People who've set up . Those kids are striking back by saying that they still relate to a 90's childhood. It's kind of fascinating, really- who claims ownership to a 90's childhood, and if there's any real way of measuring that. I personally relate to both 80's kids(I remember growing up with the , sisters that had , , Ruff , , etc) and to 90's kids ( , Are You Afraid of the Dark?, , , , electronic pets, etc). So I figure, if someone born in 1996 can call themselves a 90's kid, why can I call myself a cross between an 80's kid and a 90's kid?
21. Harry Potter fanaticism. Dear God, that's going to be fun to relive. We already know Marie is a big Harry Potter fan. I remember in 8th grade being made to play Hagrid once, and in 10th grade running into a Happy Birthday Harry Potter event at Borders. And one time looking up Emma Watson's birth year as my guy friends freshmen year of college couldn't stop drooling over her and wanted to know if she was legal. And then, of course, as the video indicates, Twilight fanaticism. That'll also be fun. And Courtney is just about the right age to get really into the Twilight craze. I'm assuming Riley will wind up a massive Hunger Games fan. Although the Hunger Games really manages to appeal to people of just about every age.
22. Oh, god, yes, that would be frickin' hilarious! The mental image of JJ drinking himself into oblivion after failing to get Olympic Gold in '06 would be pretty funny.
23. I lived in the Greater Pittsburgh area for two years, and it was amazing to me just how different the dialect was there as opposed to what it's like in the Great Philadelphia area. People saying "pop" instead of "soda". People saying "needs done" instead of "needs to be done." And so on and so forth. The Pittsburgh accent cracked me up. I'll definitely miss it.
24. Actually, I can't really see Brad or Robbie freaking out that much about a tattoo. They don't really freak out about stuff like that. I could see Yearbook or Drama Club for JJ.
25. Ooooh, that's a good one. I like that. He probably would worship the Quiksilver brand.
