I'm the same way, I think. I like guys who surprise me by looking like a certain type of guy, but then blowing me away by proving me how wrong my first impression was.

I could never do that, either. Eww. Man, the self-destrucitive really is alive and well in the Hayes family, isn't it? So far it seems like Frank's the only one is his entire family who seems okay. It hit Billy, and he didn't even grow up with the Hayes!

Thanks! Some of that I actually used for B. Rad. Some I wanted to use, but couldn't find a place for. Anyways... There really was an amazing music selection in the mid-80's. Definitely a lot easier than 1980, which was in this weird phase and generally forced me to look at UK music, which I think was infinitely better than American music in 1980. Chapter 5- Conjugal Visits -When Neil tries to seduce Brad, and Brad turns him down. "Imagination" by Laura Branigan -When Brad and Robbie have sex after Brad basically forces Neil out. "Self-Control" by Laura Branigan -When Brad meets Bianca, Ace's latest squeeze, in a rather personal way. "La Dolce Vita" by Ryan Parris -When Neil declares that Brad can't satisfy Robbie like he can. Then Brad threatens to sic JP on Neil. "Jolene" by Dolly Parton -When Robbie and Brad have sex, and Robbie tells him that he's not going back to Princeton for grad school. "All I Need" by Jack Wagner -When Brad talks to Stefan and JP, trying to figure out what Robbie's kink is. "Obsession" by Animotion **** I really like being able to use Jack Wagner's hit. My family were/are BIG General Hospital fans. I think some of my earliest memories actually revolve around watching General Hospital. -
Eh. Dallas is a sore spot to me right now for some reason. I'm glad 2,000 miles seperate me from that place. I kinda have to pretend that place doesn't exist for now, and the large physical distance makes it easier to do so. I was supposed to hit up Philly last night, but I wound up going to a bar concert instead. Pretty good stuff. The lead singer is DREAMY. And it's a good band in general- has this whole bluesy/progressive rock sound. They're called 61 North. It prolly isn't everyone's taste, but here's a link to their Myspace music page. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endid=150695844 And again, I think their lead singer, Brian LaPann, is freakin' dreamy. Too bad he's straight.

So, I used to post stuff like this at this other board I'm involved in, but I'm taking a break from there and wanna try this place out. This thread is to talk about the fun stuff we like to do on weekends and such. You can talk about any fun parties you've gone to, and all the silly and fun antics that go into them. We can also post links to songs we like that make us thinking of partying mode. For me, so far this weekend, my Friday night was great. I went to an improv comedy show, did some swing dancing in the student center, hit up the bar, and then went to a rager being held at an friend's house. Pretty fun- lots of people, dancing, a D.J, and cool party lights. It's at this notorious party place everyone at my school calls Skid Row- a bunch of old row houses. Everyone there is a student, so parties there never get busted, which is freakin' sick. Here's one of the songs they like to play at their parties. God, I love this song. "Flashlight" by Parliament http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1cnaa12FIo Anyways, I hope my Saturday night is good as well...I'm going to a concert at this bar by this cool local band. What about you guys? Any fun stories you wanna share?

I put myself somewhere in the middle. Like musicals and showtunes, but I don't walk around giving fashion tips. I mean, if I get a cool piece of clothing, I'll talk about it- but Carson Kressley I am not. I also really like beer bongs and wearing the same hoody for three days. I think that's my inner frat-boy peeking out.

"Where Is the Love?" by Black Eyed Peas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6CPcv2NJDA What's wrong with the world mama? People living like aint got no mamas I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism But we still got terrorists here livin In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And if you hatin you're bound to get irate Yeah madness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates You gotta have love just to set it straight Take control of your mind and meditate Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all People killing people dying Children hurtin you hear them crying Can you practice what you preach Would you turn the other cheek? Father Father Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me got me questioning Where is the love? It just ain't the same all ways have changed New days are strange is the world the insane? If love and peace so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong Nations dropping bombs Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones With ongoing suffering As the youth die young So ask yourself is the loving really strong? So I can ask myself really what is going wrong With this world that we living in People keep on giving in Makin wrong decisions Only visions of them livin and Not respecting each other Deny thy brother The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover The truth is kept secret Swept under the rug If you never know truth Then you never know love Where's the love y'all? Where's the truth y'all? Where's the love y'all? People killing people dying Children hurtin you hear them crying Can practice what you preach Would you turn the other cheek? Father father father help us Send some guidance from above Cause people got me got me questioning Where is the love? I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder As I'm getting older y'all people get colder Most of us only care about money makin Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction Wrong information always shown by the media Negative images is the main criteria Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema Whatever happened to the values of humanity Whatever happened to the fairness and equality Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found People killing people dying Children hurtin you hear them crying Can you practice what you preach Would you turn the other cheek? Father Father Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me got me questioning Where is the love?

And Chapter 4... **** -When Brad and Robbie have sex at the start of the chapter. My 2009 comment: (Just what the hell ARE OP shorts, anyway? I've never heard of OP.) "Senses Working Overtime" by XTC -When Brad and Robbie are on the beach, and Brad reads him the one-page break-up letter. Then they have angry sex. "Every Breathe You Take" by the Police -When Robbie meets Max, and then Brad later has a threesome. "A Million Miles Away" by the Plimsouls -
I'm from northern Delaware. It's kinda cool being from Delaware, because it's such an unknown place that people don't make fun of it like my poor neighbors to the north.

I know that the story's over and everything, but I thought I'd take this moment to post some other songs from the era that didn't quite make the cut.... Here's a great disco song from that era- "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" by Sylvester http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ItJXHz000g God, I love this beat. And here's a song that I wanted to use for Jake, but I eventually decided "Bad Girls" fit the mood better. "Hot Child in the City" by Nick Gilder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFMlvUyBq-0

*clucks tongue at Mark M* Ah, kid...get offa my lawn, whippersnapper! *winks* Nah, it's cool. I'm a little older than you, so I really remember a good portion of the 80's and the culture that surrounded it. More 1988ish and 1989ish, but yeah. Mark's right and my main purpose for posting songs is to nail the feel of culture and time, which is often reflected quite well in the music of the time. As for your question about bell bottoms...tie-dye t-shirts made a comeback in the late 80's as part of the Bohemian New Wave, but bell bottoms themselves weren't popular again until about 1999, when they made a comeback. Jeans in the 80's were generally very tight with an uncomfortably high waist...usually acid-washed, and tightly rolled up. And Achy-Breaky-heart was like a '91 or '92 song, so we won't be hearing it here unless we wind up following these characters through the 90's. -

I'm picking Lark, because I see him as one of those closetcases that end up getting infected because of all the sneaking around they do. -
Damn, Adam. You really have a quirky sensibility when it comes to words and phrases.. I. Mean. Seriously. Dude. Anyways, Mark....I wanna thank you for allowing all of us to re-live the 80's through B. Rad. The 80's were a great time.

"Canon In D" by Pachelbel -When Brad and Robbie hug at the end after reassuring each other with a confidence one only has when young. "Let My Love Open The Door" by Pete Townsend **** Alright, that's it for B. Rad. I've really enjoyed exploring music from the late 1970's/early 1980's. I'm amazed at how diverse the music was at that point- from the disco, to the punk, to the British New Wave...I'm really impressed at a good deal of the music from that time, especially Joy Division, which I hadn't been familiar with until researching this period. Thanks for listening, guys!!!
