    Chapter 68

Yeah, Claire and Jack have been together for 24 years at this point. They were dating when Be Rad starts in June 1980, right? They got together when Claire was 15 and Jack was 16. They were married with children on the way by 1985- I don't think Claire was even finished with college. Things happen over the course of almost a quarter of a century in a relationship.
  2. Kaitlin Olsen works for me. I used to watch It's Always Sunny with my stoner friend Steve way back when. Didn't know you pictured Claire with pointy features. I just remembered you describing her as a short blonde with big boobs. LOL I had Ian Somerhalder as a previous Jack fancast but I leaned towards James Marsden more recently. Matt Bomer would work as well. (He has more of the square jaw that Colton Haynes has.) If I go with my High School Jack fancast it would be Zac Efron, but his face changed a lot. LOL
  3. My general Claire fancast is Reese Witherspoon because she nails that uptight WASP thing/prom queen in middle age vibe. My general Jack fancast is James Marsden because I have no problem believing that Brad would constantly describe him as pretty. Still looks damn good in middle age.

    Fight

Corbin burned that bridge with Nick, to put it mildly.
  5. He has that lean prettiness I figured a Danfield would have.
  6. Jack Champion is adorable. Maybe a grown up Riley Danfield?

    Chapter 65

I think JJ learned an important lesson. Mainly that he can't manipulate people like Will or Bellona. LOL
  8. I was at a performing arts high school in 2004. If people weren't obsessed with Wicked, they were obsessed with Hairspray. LOL I recently saw a regional performance. Still really fun.

    Chapter 65

The singing diner bit was fun. There was a Johnny Rockets that was open close to me for a few years when I was in middle school, and it was always fun to see them sing "YMCA" or "Night Fever."
  10. Chapter 65 -When Will and Travis triumphantly show off their looks which infuriates JJ. "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray When JJ goes "Aww, fuck it" and decides to dance to the New Age music. "Sadeness" by Enigma -When Will and Travis go to a singing diner with a bunch of Broadway wannabees. "Night Fever" by the Bee Gees -When Mark Arbour decides to have Travis sing "Surfing USA." "Surfing USA" by the Beach Boys -When Will and Travis learn all about Will's skills, all night long. "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" by Paul Anka -When the gang watches the plane that Travis and Darius were going to be on explode. "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" by the Gap Band

    Chapter 65

Plus, like, this is a family that has experienced literal coup de tats. It's not that much of a shock to their system.

    Chapter 64

He looks like Paul Walker, though. I'd be willing to forgive a lot just like I am with Zach who looks like Liam Hemsworth. Lol
  13. Chapter 64 -When Travis shows up to New York City. "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton -When Will and Travis get ready for MOMA. "Simply Irresistible" by Robert Palmer -When Will and Travis exchange the "I Love You" bit. "I Can Hear the Bells" from Hairspray

    Chapter 64

Mark, I swear, I didn't bribe this poster to say this.

    Chapter 63

Too bad you can't directly reference The Devil Wears Prada yet. Lol

    Chapter 63

JJ moved from a Merchant Ivory British drama about an aristrocratic love affair into a plucky New York City romantic comedy from the 2000's. Lol Definitely loving how JJ is basically living Devil Wears Prada, although basically as the bitchy assistant obsessed with Miranda's approval. The best part is that JJ doesn't realize he's a romantic comedy character, carrying himself so seriously. That makes his character funnier.

    Chapter 63

Really enjoy it, too. I love their friendship. I don't know if it can really be a full out relationship, but I adore the friendship regardless. I just re-explored my "JJ Playlist" in my mind and came up with a pretty essential song for JJ: "What I Did for Love" from A Chorus Love (1975 Original Cast) This song is about sacrificing everything else for your love of the arts, and I think it was a good parallel to what is going on with JJ and John. I think JJ loves John but at the end of the day, he loves New York City. He's willing to sacrifice for it, similar to how JJ was willing to sacrifice for his figure skating days. JJ's love of the fashion scene in New York City (and his aspirations as a tastemaker) supercede whatever desire JJ might have for John. At least, how things stand for JJ at 18 years old. I do think John brought out the best in JJ, in the sense that he kinda brings JJ out of his cossetted elitist world. I like that about their dynamic- it's pretty opposite of how it was with Alex.
  18. Ooh, I got it- Gillian Anderson? She's so fab.
  19. Chapter 63 -When Will and JJ fly in a helicopter to Connecticut. "Fly Like An Eagle" by Steve Miller Band -When Will admires the Italian style architecture of JJ's house project in Connecticut. "Buona Sera" by Dean Martin -When Will...uh...watches JJ with Carullo. "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel -When JJ goes back for seconds with Carullo. "Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon -When Will calls JJ out for giving up love again...only...there's a true love that JJ really cannot give up- New York City. "What I Did For Love" from A Chorus Line

    Chapter 62

They're socialites. Think Gossip Girl. (Okay, we're a few years short of that.) They basically swan around in fancy couture at New York City social events and get photographed for society mags. Influencers are basically the modern-day marketers and I can't see that being JJ. JJ is never going to shill products for a living like influencers do because he doesn't need a job. Although I guess we could say he's a pro-bono influencer as he's not picking up products he doesn't believe in just to make money? It's kind of funny how JJ both wishes for the spotlight but also seems to believe in a low profile. It's like he wants the spotlight yet he doesn't want to invite it. In any event, to talk about Gossip Girl, Will is the Serena to JJ's Blair Waldorf. I did chuckle a bit at the tension over Carullo. Someone is very protective of their meal ticket. I mean, boyfriend.
  21. Chapter 62 -Will and Darius talking in the plane about (what else?) Will's love life. "How Will I Know?" by Whitney Houston -When Will cries thinking about Travis. "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?" by Al Green -When the brothers reunite at JJ's home in New York City. "New York, New York" by Liza Minelli -When Will gets dressed in his Gucci outfit. "I'm Really Hot" by Missy Elliot -When Will gets into a threesome with Patrick and his boyfriend. "Salt Shaker" by Ying Yang Twins
  22. Sophie Turner is hilarious. I can see her as Zanie.
  23. Ah, okay, I kept picturing an Amazonian Brigitte Nielsen type. The 1980's really liked big athletic blondes with big fake boobs and that's where I was going with the idea for Travis's mother- someone who just looks like she belongs in the 80's and drag queens would totally dress up as. Zoe Lucker a British soap diva? She's definitely got the trashy glam right. Maybe Joely Richardson? I was so into Nip/Tuck. This one's actually surprisingly hard to brainstorm because British actresses often have this well-bred, classy look to them, especially the ones that are still acting after their 30's.
  24. Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso as Travis's Eurotrash mother? She just kind of has that larger than life vibe I was picturing. The fake tan and bleached hair also track with what I was picturing. Like you could have just pictured her being a model in the 80's and leading some weird, glamorous life before (somewhat) settling down.

    The Journey

Something tells me they aren't going to be like high school mock trial. It's funny we haven't even gotten to spring break yet. LOL
