  1. Somehow I think this death (and/or dismemberment) will have to do with the Wilcoxes' need for revenge. We can't have George being the one, that would totally suck and wouldn't make sense. So that leaves the 3 other Grangers. Harming the Earle would be a bad idea given his status in the realm. So is it Freddie or Bertie? I'm going to go with Bertie because he's off in India. My second guess would be Bertie again. He did something dumb (as in he got caught ) while drunk again.
  2. Listen up, laddie. Yes, I mean you Mark M. There'll be no neck stretching in this story....only ass stretching.
  3. Actually, that very thought crossed my mind (just incidentally....or innocently ), Granger having sex with Nelson. I remember thinking that if anyone would take that on, Mark would. But you're right. Let's leave Lord Nelson's "reputation" intact. Mind you, he was such a great man in so many other ways, he was probably a lousy lay! Where can we get our hands on Lady Nelson's memoirs? Great chapter, Mark!
  4. Superb chapter! Granger does enjoy being a bottom, no doubt about that....but it appears he has designs on Mr. Shafte's bottom as well. I must say, Granger's sex life is distracting me from the war action. I really am trying to follow the war. I think James Robey is thinking less of Travers.
  5. I'm really enjoying the way the story is developing. Granger has his hands full right now with this mutiny investigation. He's not at all impartial as to the outcome. I'm curious as to how he'll handle it and whether his hunch about the coxwain's involvement is accurate. However the mutiny investigation turns out, it seems Granger will command the Desparate. Devlin will be disappointed.
  6. I agree but it was sweet anyway! So I want to join your team. Send me the sex scene first! I'll let you know what I think....honest.
  7. Superb chapter, Mark! Sex and adventure on the high seas! Woo - Hoo!!! Yes, a very cunning plan was that! Kudos to Travers. It surprised me that Granger feels jealous thinking about Travers with another man. That's cute. Even sweeter was Travers telling Granger that he was "more of a sexual being".
  8. There was lots more lovin' in this chapter! Now we're cookin'.
  9. You haven't seen rude yet, buddy. We're getting there, though. :2hands: We're talking about Granger's potential of being a good father. You dismiss my arguments from the story out of hand. You do not provide any counter argument based on the story to support your position. You engage in generalities only. You seem to sum Granger up based solely on his sexual activities. This seems to be a problem for you. Tell me, how would you classify Sir Evelyn's behaviour in bedding Granger?
  10. Enric, you're not paying attention. Look at the facts within the story. Granger is the son of an Earl and was raised and educated as the son of an Earl. Not only as he demonstrated competence as a military/navel officer, he has shown himself to be a fine leader of men. He has won "prize" money. He has killed in battle. He's comfortable in the presence of kings. He flirts well with the fairer sex. He has seduced a captain. He has himself a lover. He's intelligent and compassionate. What story are you reading?
  11. Granger would make a great father. He's a lot more mature than today's 18 year old. The problem is he's away so much. Anyhow, I imagine that's how it was done back then. Family Planning organizations weren't getting government grants as yet. I enjoyed the way Travers cross-examined Granger on having a wife. Even better was how Granger laid it all out for him with Caroline as the third wheel. He even had Travers sleeping with his wife.
  12. Chapter 3 was excellent!!! A reunion with Travers! Life is good. Granger has to use all his guile to stay clear of Wilcox....and makes friends with yet another hunky sailor.
  13. Ah ha!!! I've got it now. I'm slow but I'm steady. Sounds like a TEAM player to me. Hey Goat! Save all that lead baloon stuff for your memoirs....Confessions of a Misunderstood Goat Now, get on with the pool party, uh...I mean story.
  14. It's always extremely risky predicting the behaviour of a woman. The term "crap shoot" comes to mind. I sure hope Sharon isn't reading this. In this instance, given the author is a man, it's safer to do so. In my view, woman are largely problem oriented. So yes, a gay husband would definitely present a "problem". Men, however, are solution oriented. Given Caroline's behaviour so far, she is most definitely solution oriented. So while Caroline may not be too happy with her husband's sexual preferences, she'll make it work, to the point of protecting her husband's interests and reputation. Sadly, as we all know, it's really women who run the world.
  15. Happy B-Day, Graeme!
  16. That was truly a superb opening chapter. Lots of great action and great dialogue. Well done, Mark! I'm thinking Granger will do something nice for Ballvin, his midshipman who died in the battle...a letter to his parents or something. I hate it when young people die. Travers is off in the Mediterranean warming his arse! Granger's got to deal with family again....and he's running out of lovers.
  17. I think it's time you started cheating on him!
  18. When is the next pool party?
  19. I wanted to say that! Happy B-Day, Mark!
  20. I don't think Lark will be narrating anything for a while. I loved the story. Chapter 14 did venture into the melodramatic. But all's well that ends well.
  21. Excellent chapter, Mark! It's looking like Marcel did such a great job with Max, he'll be transitioning from top to versatile...at least for the next little while. Looks like Pete is coming out of his shell as well.
  22. So much for Lou changing his stripes! Marcel didn't take it so badly. In fact, it seemed he fully expected it. The rolex switch was a hoot! I'm also thinking Lou's not terribly bright. I was really pissed that Max had Lark over again. I mean if you're going to go all co-dependent on someone, try not to pick a sleeze ball. Where's Brad when you need him? Hopefully, Max will get a clue. Great chapter, Mark!
  23. I'll tell ya, I gave it my best shot. "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees still gets me going. I have thrown out my disco "outfits"....just last week. If I were to wear the boots I wore in those days, I'd more than likely fall off them. Actually, there are two passtimes I engage in after I've had too much to drink. Dancing is one; the other is directing classical or band music. I don't mix the two. Dancing to classical music is way too gay.
  24. So the chapter started with Marcel doing his "Why am I so unlucky at love?" thing. Frankly, it was a godsend that Lou showed up. Otherwise Marcel would spent the evening in a real funk. I was looking for some sign that Lou had changed his ways. Taking the offered money in exchange for getting out of Marcel's life wasn't it. The ending was positive....I think. Marcel's sticking his neck out again. We'll see I guess. The scene with Bruno was great. Loved it. Disco....I remember it fondly.
  25. I'm inclined to give Max a break on this one. Yes, his note to Marcel was definitely a "blow off". So if that's the charge, Max is guilty. When it comes to sentencing, however, I'd put him on probation, no jail time. Max woke up that morning, no longer drunk or stoned, and realized he had been betrayed by someone purporting to be his friend. Marcel was well aware of Max's vulnerability over the Lark thing. Max had repeatedly told Marcel he didn't want to get f**ked. Marcel proceeded to seduce him anyway. And that's what it was, a seduction, plain and simple. Marcel chose to get his rocks off instead of respecting his friend's emotional state. "Here, let me fix you with my dick!"
