There has definitely been a lot of time and effort put in over a long period of time. The motive is definitely fuelled by malice and driven by control and manipulation. That's only the beginning though

Aria hasn't had a panic attack before. Aria has significant attachment issues. The thing that sparked it this time was the belief that his mother was going to replace him with her new baby and won't want anything to do with him anymore. I guess it's almost Stockholm Syndrome in a way, in that no matter how abusive Mommy is, at least she's giving him the attention he craves. Now, he fears that attention will be withdrawn altogether and he doesn't know how to process that information, that fear he's going to be abandoned by the most important person in the world to him, next to his brother. Anyone who wants to be licenced to do close protection has to attend an accredited training school. The training includes first aid training. He's also done a full first aid course and has experience in field medicine. When you're working special ops, you're often way off the radar. There's no one to help you but the other men in your unit. As Drew says, it's not uncommon for soldiers to have panic attacks. He's also received treatment for them himself. As for the motive...well that will become clear in time.

I love pulling rugs, you never know what you might find under them, and I like to see towers fall Drew might get kidnapped. Or someone else might. I'll slip you one nugget. If someone does get kidnapped, it won't be Drew who finds them

Actually, there is evidence that a shot of alcohol is good for shock for many reasons. First is the psychological effect. Second, it stimulates the brain to release chemicals that help counteract the adrenaline rush, and third, when the body is highly stimulated it burns sugar fast, and causes shaking and exhaustion, the sugars in alcohol help. Okay, it's not a lot but it's better than tea or coffee because the caffeine makes it worse rather than better. You know, after reading your comment on Angel's Heart, it occurs to me there is rather a theme of nightmare mothers. I LOVE the idea of the new baby turning out to be trans. Sadly, we don't go that far into the future but it would definitely be appropriate karma, and one thing's for sure no matter what the little one decided they'd have massive support from their adoring brothers.
