This is a first class mystery starring some familiar and some new characters.  It will help to read 1550 Loring Lane  and Button first, but it's not necessary.  What sets this apart from an average mystery is the complex characters and their relationships with each other.  In real life there is very little pure black and white, it's all varying shade of gray.  Lazy writers have black and white characters because it's easier than fleshing them out.  We have no lazy writing here!
