A Fool's Thoughts - 1. 1 - 10

1.

The Poet

A poet attempting to rhyme,

while drinking a vodka with lime,

likes the results

so much he exults:

“I’m trying a Derby next time!”

2.

Daffodils swaying.

Children are on the egg-hunt.

A bumblebee hums.

3.

Poetry Anthology 2015

4.

Tulips

Yellow, orange, pink, and violet,

colors made for spring.

Blue shimmers the black bird’s wing.

Wishing I were its pilot.

5.

Click! A tinkling laughter caught,

to enjoy at another time.

Beep! A sparkling look held

to explore at another time.

Snap! A perfect moment trapped

to look at another time.

6.

Some days my hands are fists,

and I give them to you,

to hold them.

Some days my feet want to run away,

and I put them in your lap,

to stop them.

Some days my mouth is a weapon,

and I give it to you,

to kiss me.

Some days my eyes are blind,

and I cannot find you,

until you touch me.

Some days my ears are deaf,

and I tilt my head for you,

to whisper:

“I love you.”

You are my world.

Today

Today I closed my eyes,

to hear your breathing, to smell your skin, to feel your warmth, to taste your salt,

more clearly.

You can find numbers 7 and 8 in Poetry Prompt 8, number 9 in Poetry Prompt 7, and number 3 as part of the Poetry Antholoy 2015. Thank you to AC and Irri for the prompts, you awoke my interest in writing poetry again. Thank you to Val for telling me about NaPoWriMo.

These were great Adi! I particularly liked #4 and #6. 4 made me wish for warm sunshine and my garden. 6 called to my maple syrupy romantic soul...the desire to have someone in your life who makes you better...helps you to be stronger than the anger, frustration, sadness and fear that we sometimes feel. Thank you Adi
Thank you for telling me your thoughts, Lit. So, 4 and 6? I love would you said, it's what I wanted to express.
