This is Sam and Alex's story from my response to Prompt 305.  It is not necessary to read the prompt before the story, however if you choose to do so be **warned that it contains a major spoiler regarding the end of the story**.

This is a beautiful, romantic love story about Sam and Alex told from Sam's point of view. Valkyrie is a splendid storyteller who writes with great skill and authenticity.  I am not giving you a spoiler when I tell you that Sam narrates reminiscing his first great love with Alex to Aaron his second great love. Val lets you know in the first few sentences of the prologue that Alex is no longer is Sam's life.  This is so the story can focus on the development of Sam and Alex's love together.  It is a wonderful tale filled with love, sadness, strength and compassion. It is a compelling story that grabs your emotions in an authentic and caring manner. You will love this story and probably wish to read many of Valkyrie's other stories as a result.
