Change of Heart - 14. Chapter fourteen

I have most of the next chapter written and will be posting soon... feel free to incite or encourage me with "likes" and "comments".

Paul and Jeff watched in fascination as the big-dicked man they knew as the homophobic Sheriff Johnson used and abused the smaller, slimmer man. That man was clearly the same Deputy Ilya was determinedly questioning in the distance, even as they viewed the explicit videos in which he starred.

They were soon asked by one of the soldaty to join Joe, Raymond, Ilya, the State Trooper, whose flashing lights they had seen coming as they arrived at the accident and the newly arrived Deputy Lovan. Ilya had completed his interrogation prior to either lawman's arrival.

Raymond proceeded to relay what he and Ilya had learned from the very cooperative Deputy Harris. His plan based on this newly acquired information was not to Paul's liking. Raymond proposed that the Deputy be allowed to return home tonight, under the direct supervision of Ilya, like the chase never happened. Explaining that he and Joe would set up a confrontation, after the questioning tomorrow morning. This confrontation would involve other law enforcement agencies with the expected result of terminating the Sheriff's employment and his possible arrest. Paul didn't want to pretend the chase never happened and he didn't want the Deputy going home even if Ilya would be by his side throughout the night. Raymond and Joe were both insistent that it was for the best. When the State Trooper and Deputy Lovan concurred, Jeff was more accepting. Apparently, Jeff knew and trusted their judgment more than Paul did. The consensus to simply act as though the “chase” had never happened galled him.

Paul shouted, “Bullshit!” when told the Deputy only intended to harass Jeff and his group. The Deputy said he had been directed to call the Sheriff when he had them pulled over and await further instructions. The Deputy seemed to believe the worst outcome would have been an undeserved ticket. That still didn't explain why he had suddenly decided to abandon the traffic stop when other vehicles showed up. Paul wasn't convinced the Deputy had abandoned the “chase” in fear of possibly losing his job for harassing citizens. He did believe him when he insisted the Sheriff would fire him rather than admit to directing him to harass anyone.

Late at night, lonely back road, a Deputy with an established alibi miles away from the actual scene. A homophobic Sheriff who upon discovering one of his deputies was “queer” started secretly using him as a fuck toy, often in his own office. Paul was amazed that anyone with political aspirations would video themselves in this day and time. Even if his weiner was way, way! bigger than Weiner’s weiner.

Maybe Paul hadn't been a math major, but this shit just didn't add up. It would have been too easy for the Sheriff to plant drugs, gun them all down and say the shooting broke out when he insisted on searching their vehicle. Maybe he intended to set it up to look like their deaths were drug-related and hadn't even involved law enforcement at all. The Deputy just happened upon the aftermath. When Paul recalled the Sheriff’s obvious looks of hate and disgust, cold shivers ran down his spine so severe his body actually shook. He went along with letting the Deputy go. But, he sure as hell didn't have to be happy about it.

Surprisingly, after it was righted, the patrol car started up and was driven to Uncle Joe’s. They had expected to have to fetch a tractor to drag it to Joe’s place. Some of Ilya's soldaty, Sam, and Fred included went ahead to make sure there were no surprises awaiting Jeff and Paul at the house. As he and Jeff headed to the Tahoe, he saw Tink hurrying, laptop and uzi in hand, to Ilya's side. Paul wasn't interested in seeing any more porn tonight, he just wanted to get home.

He was too agitated to pay any attention to the silence that permeated the Tahoe on the ride home. Right now he had no patience for anyone who posed even a slight threat to his family. He gut instinct had been to confront that bastard Sheriff tonight. Raymond had apparently dealt with devious politicians before. Even so, his assurances that the Sheriff would not go unpunished brought little comfort to Paul.

Tom took advantage of the quiet ride to ask questions about Tink. Neither Jeff nor Paul could offer much. Sam shared what he knew, which was that Tink had been credited with saving the lives of Raymond and Ilya when some deal with a member of the Russian oligarchy had gone bad. Apparently, Tink’s hacking skills played a pivotal role in his introduction to Ilya and Raymond. Sam hinted that he knew Tink's uzi wasn't just a decoration.

As they pulled into the drive, Paul felt strange coming home… he couldn't believe his recently burned house seemed like such a distant memory. This place, Jeff's place, their place, felt like it had been his home for a long time.

He led the way into the family room and asked if anyone else wanted a brandy. Everyone accepted excluding Fred, who was on watch, and Tom who wanted a beer. Jeff directed Tom to the kitchen.

Tom reappeared minutes later with two beers and a large bag of chips. “What?” He asked at the looks of disbelief he got from his companions. “Supper was hours ago and besides.” He shyly admitted, “It's more about nerves than bein’ hungry. Feeling better after the admission, “Don't tell me I’m the only one who expected the cops to start shooting at us at any minute. I got so damned nervous during that living hell of an O. J. police chase, I didn't know if I was gonna shit or go blind!

“I got a revolver I keep in my truck, two rifles and a shotgun at home. Tomorrow I’m going to town and get me something to keep on me. Tonight, I was so tense you couldn't have driven a ten penny nail up my ass with a five-pound sledgehammer. If I had been armed, at least I could‘ve gone down like a man, instead of like a virgin on prom night.”

Tom's lighthearted banter helped relieve the air of tension that had settled upon the group since those flashing lights first appeared.

As the liquor took effect, Dave took great delight in recalling for Sam the kinky “Daddy Sheriff” videos Tink had found soon after the Deputy’s “inquisition” began. Sam was practically salivating as Dave and Tom took turns detailing the Sheriff's manly body and horse like appendage along with the kinky piss, bondage, spanking, throat fucking as well as what appeared to be nonconsensual and nonlubricated anal penetration.

While he grimaced at the mention of ‘non-lubed anal penetration’ Sam turned to Dave, “You’ve asked me several times what I wanted for Christmas. Get me my own copy of those videos and that will be the gift that keeps on giving… back. If they're as hot as you say, you can have me, anyway, you want every time I watch them.”

Paul shivered again as he thought of watching that hateful man enjoying anything. He was convinced he could never get aroused watching “Bad Daddy Sheriff” porn.

Jeff seemed to sense his discomfort and pulled him closer. “As soon as the D. A. reads the statements and asks a few questions tomorrow this will all be behind us.

“Uncle Raymond has a trick or two up his sleeve. He has some very powerful connections in Austin. So try hard not to let on about the “chase” tomorrow until after the questioning. He wants the confrontation to take place in front of the D. A.

“Ilya will be closely watching the Deputy, who has already called in sick for the day. With the porn videos, the phone videos, the 911 recording, our statements and the Deputy’s confession, that should put a damper on his unprofessional behavior and most likely end his law enforcement career. Now, drink up and let's get a shower and hit the hay. Tomorrow is going to be another long day. Maria won't let us forget, we have Uncle Joe and Aunt Mellie’s get together tomorrow night.”

Standing, he offered his hand to Paul, who accepted and stood beside him. They said their goodnights and headed down the hall. After Jeff closed and locked the bedroom door, he began to undress. Paul eyed him hungrily. He couldn't believe what a specimen of manhood he had all to himself.

Jeff idly scratched his chest hair. “Are you getting undressed or are you gonna shower in boots and jeans? Smiling at Paul's obviously lust filled gaze, Jeff pulled him into his arms.

Paul let his cheek rest against that curly chest hair. “I was just thinking how lucky I am to have you all to myself.” He moved his cheek against the hair and was surprised to hear a soft rustle.

Jeff mindlessly ran his hands up and down Paul's back. “Do you mean, like right now, or forever? You got me on both of those. You know that, don't ya?”

“I meant right now. It just seems like it's been a long time since we were alone. But, you should also know that I can't bear to think of forever without you.”

“Have you been watching Gay Soap Operas on satellite tv again?”

Paul tried to pull away in a huff. Jeff just tightened his hold. He chuckled softly as Paul weakly tried to disengage himself. “You’re not getting away that easily. I like it that you get all mushy and sentimental. That way I know you’ll like it when I bring you flowers for no reason or try to sing you love songs or take you away for a romantic weekend on our three month anniversary. Or maybe that would that be a three monthersary?”

Paul was not convinced. “Are you making fun of me?” he asked innocently, as he unbuttoned and unzipped Jeff's jeans and fished out his tackle. Wrapping his hand around Jeff's sizable balls, he gave them a sharp squeeze. Jeff's whole body jerked in response. “I know you like a little ball play, or should I say you like me to play with your big balls?” Another sharp squeeze and another jerk. “Cowboy, you better learn right now; I don't like being made fun of.” Paul could feel Jeff's hard cock leak pre-cum onto his forearm.

Jeff didn't try to pull away’ instead he gently lifted Paul's chin until their eyes met, “I wasn't teasing you. I really am a romantic. I like hearts and flowers and an occasional rom-com. Though I really prefer pizza and holding you while we watch an action or a Sci-Fi flick.”

Their eyes closed as their lips met in a tender slightly open mouth, no tongue kiss. When they parted, they simply continued to get undressed and headed for the shower.

When they got into bed Jeff turned off the lamp. He pulled Paul close and breathed in his scent, happy to realize that his bath wash and shampoo could not mask that lemony woodsy scent that was pure Paul. Wrapped in each other's arms they let sleep take them.

Awake and alert, Jeff could tell it was just now dawn. For a moment he congratulated himself for readjusting so readily to ranch life. Then he realized it was his lover's movements that had awakened him. Paul was having a nightmare. He wasn't wildly thrashing around, but he was definitely struggling in his dream. He was mumbling, but Jeff couldn't make out any words. He carefully slid out of range in case Paul woke up swinging. He lightly shook his shoulder. “Babe, Babe, Paul, Paul, wake up you’re having a bad dream.” Louder, with a firmer shake, “Paul! Wake Up!”

Paul's head jerked up and his eyes snapped open wide. “Whe.. wha.. Oh, Jeff! Thank God you're here! I dreamed I was checking Triggers teeth and you and Maria were there with me. But, when I turned to look for you, both of you were gone. I searched everywhere: in the stables, the outbuildings, the house. I couldn't find you anywhere. The more I searched, the more desperate I became. All I knew was that you two were somewhere together, but I couldn't find you.”

Jeff had moved closer once Paul woke up. Now, he pulled him into his arms and fought the urge to rock him like a mother might comfort a young child. Instead, he simply returned Paul's desperate embrace. Even as he found it difficult to get more than a shallow breath, Paul's mouth smothered his. Soon, Jeff became convinced that breathing was overrated; this kiss was essential.

Together they were drowning in desperation. Kisses, licks, nibbles, caresses, pulling and tugging, all fueled the flames of their passion. Jeff wrestled Paul onto his back and grabbed the lube from the nightstand. One, two, then three fingers, well lubed, along with Paul's urgent bidding let Jeff know the time had come. Slathering the cool lube onto his rampant manhood had a momentarily calming effect. This melted away as Jeff carefully penetrated, then plunged fully into the scalding hot friction of Paul's ass. Somewhere, in the back of his mind, a small voice urged patience. Jeff heeded nothing but the welcoming and encouraging moans of his lover. Grabbing Paul's pecs in his hands he began rhythmically pounding Paul's ass into submission.

Paul began to frantically jerk his own swollen member. Just as he approached nirvana, he released his shaft in order to ride the crest of the wave a little longer. He pulled his lover into a lusty kiss. Once their lips locked, he plowed his fingers through Jeff's chest hair. When he tugged lightly on the nipples he had to swallow his lover's moans. Jeff returned the favor, teasing Paul's sensitive nipples. For a few moments, they were physically connected at their groin, chest, and mouth.

Paul was the first to blow. He didn't so much ‘break the kiss’ as he shouted through it. The, “Oh, My God! I’Mmmm CUMmming!” was garbled and loud enough to make Jeff think he had hurt his lover. The hot cum shooting between their bodies told him otherwise. When Paul's ass began to spasm around his cock like a warm, pulsating, wet, velvet glove he couldn't hold back. He would deny that his ROARING was as loud as Paul's, but he wasn't willing to put it up for a vote among their guests. Suffice it to say, it was a momentous bout for both of them.

Even as they entered the kitchen sometime later, dressed in boots and jeans, a simple shared glance was enough to ignite a Texas-sized smile on their faces. If they hadn't been so wrapped up in each other, they might have noticed the knowing smirks the other men were wearing as everyone said good morning.

Rosarita was not as subtle as she placed mugs of coffee in front of the latecomers, “Paul, you a big movie fan?”

Racking his brain, Paul guardedly answered, “Not so much in the last few years, but yeah. Why?”

She unhurriedly placed the scrambled eggs and bacon within their reach. As they were helping themselves, she continued, “You remember “Forrest Gump”?

As he smeared butter on a still warm biscuit, Paul answered, again guardedly, “Yeah, I’ve seen it.”

“You remember when Forrest's Mother was trying to get him into regular school?”

Paul was trying to visualize the scene. He vaguely recalled an argument, but nothing more. His guard was down. This time it was with blatant curiosity that he answered, “I guess so. Why? What about it?”

If Paul had been paying attention he would have noticed the other men at the table about to bust out laughing. Except for Jeff, he sat there with a prideful grin that kept spreading as Rosarita talked. Everyone, but Paul, saw it coming like a big black tornado across a green Texas landscape.

“Well, you remember the Principal came out to his house and his Mother sent Forrest out to play. After a while, the Principal came out onto the porch with his hat in his hand and coat over his arm and his tie undone? Well, he said something to Forrest and Forrest answered? Do you remember what the little boy said?”

Luckily Paul had managed to swallow before he realized what Rosarita was telling him. Jeff, from his seat at the head of the table, reached over and helped Paul close his gaping maw. The realization that the whole house had heard them having sex this morning, lit Paul's face up in crimson.

Paul wasn't sure who started it but his angry gaze fell first on Tom, whose unrestrained guffaws seemed to encourage the others. When he realized that his glare just sparked another round of hilarity, he made to stand and leave the room.

Jeff, reached out again, this time to encourage Paul to stay seated. “ Alright, gentlemen and lady!” He spoke in almost a shout to overcome the boisterous laughter. Then, “Alright! God Damn It! I said ENOUGH!” With that, he slapped the flat of his hand against the table. That quieted the room as if someone suddenly turned off a loud tv. Even Jeff was shocked at how quickly everyone responded to his “bossman mode”. He had only ever used it a few times. He wasn't one to pull rank, but there were limits when it came to poking fun at his man. “I don't object to a little fun. I was as loud, if not louder and I offer no apologies. Everybody needs to understand this man's place in my life and on this ranch. Paul has agreed to be my partner for life…”

There were interjections of, “Woohoo!”, “Alright!” and “Congratulations!” and from Tom, could be heard, “Lucky bastard!”

“Thank you. Thank you.”

“That means he is to be treated like you treat Uncle Joe and me. Like I hope you treat every man, woman, and child on this ranch, with respect. We will not intentionally offend anyone. If we do anything that offends you, by all means, bring it to our attention. Now, y’all got your digs in about this morning. And that's alright, but enough is enough. Our private lives will never again be up for discussion or derision." After a challenging pause, "Are there any questions?” Jeff scanned the faces of those present and all he saw was solemn nods of agreement. When he saw the love in Paul's warm brown eyes, he felt like he could slay dragons.

Changing the subject, he talked to the bodyguards about the get-together. They had already been briefed by Ilya as to what to expect and who would be on or off duty. Jeff assured them there would be plenty of good food and beverages of all kinds. Guests would be people from the area that were friends, neighbors and or business associates. In the past politicians were not specifically invited. If any of the people invited happened to be politicians, that was not a problem. This year Uncle Joe had personally invited each of the City Council members, the County Judge and County Commissioners as well as the District Judge, who had, as a friend, been coming for years anyway. They would, as was tradition, hire off-duty policemen and Deputies to control traffic, parking, and to make sure the open bar did not lead to driving while intoxicated. The very good pay along with great food an open bar meant there was never a shortage of helping hands.

Jeff made it clear that as soon as she was ready to leave, Rosarita, would be through for the day. She confirmed that she would be back to prepare breakfast in the morning, but was off on Christmas Day. She left Paul with a hug and a whispered, “I am sorry if we offended you. It was really all in good fun. And to let you know that the Princess may be asking some potentially embarrassing questions.”

At first, Paul was not too receptive. Once she had her say he returned her embrace and whispered back, “I appreciate your intent. Just remember, the delivery method demands payback. So consider yourself warned.”

Jeff, unable to hear the exchange, watched with curiosity but made no comment.

As it turned out Paul was almost grateful for the roasting he got at breakfast, it kept his mind off the meeting with the Sheriff.

This is less than half of what I have written for this chapter and I haven't even ended the questioning let alone begun the confrontation.
Please leave a comment. I must warn you I have grown rather fond of those cliffhanger jibs.
Thank you for reading.

I like it. Things seem to moving along but we know hickups will no doubt be down the road but it's good that Jeff stamped his authority. Wow it just keeps getting better. Thanks

Nothing beats a good cliffhanger. The beginning of this chapter seemed a little disjointed. I'm not sure if it was because you picked up in a different spot than from where the last chapter ended and then went back to that, or what. Tom and Tink??? Could be fun....

I know right. Of course you know a thing or two about cliffhangers don't you?

Still enjoying these guys and this story. The Daddy Sheriff porn made me chuckle. Time to tell us more about the inner workings of the ADAMS family. Thanks. Jeff

Good chapter... @Jayt is right, beginning a little disjointed. However, it picked up after that.

I look forward to sheriff getting his!

Loved the breakfast scene; was just way to funny and so true to life, well written.  The Daddy Sheriff porn was a little off putting for me; as it appears the deputy was raped, and that is just something that I have trouble with anyone joking about.  I do look forward to the confrontation in the DA's office, it will be very interesting...

I have rewritten the first couple of paragraphs. Thanks for pointing that out to me. About Tom and Tink... maybe.

Thanks for your comments, they are often educational and always appreciated.

I was concerned that Jeff was a little hard on everyone while trying to protect Paul. Glad you liked it.

I set a trap by being "disjointed" at the first of this chapter. I have rewritten the first few paragraphs and caught a volunteer beta reader. As soon as I get his suggestions and process them it will be posted.

thanks again for posting your comments. I look forward to them.

Another great chapter! Jeff in boss mode loved it.

Thanks,

I was a little concerned that he would come across like a dictator instead of a caring, defending spouse, which is what I intended.

Thanks, you know I always look forward to your comments.

I felt like that added to the idea that the Sheriff was truly a bad man.

I guess the breakfast tease means Jeff and Paul will have to invest in a retro fit to add soundproofing...otherwise the poor princess....

I think that would make sense. They have yet to occupy the master suite. Maybe now would be a good time to do that.

Laugh all you want some guys would buy that.

You failed to include "fingersnap, fingersnap" when using the terms "Adams" and "family" back to back. Therefore your question is invalid. Paul is just now beginning to understand the wealth and thereby potential influence of his new family.

We will get there shortly.

Thanks for your comments.

Cliffhanger(s) are really overrated ... note how they've been used / abused to death by TV soaps ... :P

The rewritten paragraphs read so much better, because I think I've read the first version and couldn't make head and tails of the story ...

Bring on the Adam's family <finger snap, finger snap>

I do listen to the comments posted. As to cliffhangers... I sometimes feel a dramatic musical crescendo should be played at the end of some of my chapters. ?Now you have convinced me that it is critical to post the edited version on that other website I post too, which shall remain niftyly nameless.?

Thanks for all your comments,
