Special Occasion Stories - 10. Here Kitty Kitty, Christmas Special

This is set after my Here Kitty Kitty story. We all know I always have a happy ending so this has not got any spoilers in it and is just a little light fun.

Simon chuckled at his mate’s frustrated face.

“It is not funny. How am I supposed to explain to the kits that now I am mated to vampire Santa will be coming during the day and not at night? I may be able to get things by Nelson but Peter and Fran are too smart to fall for just any old excuse. They’ve done well adjusting to all the changes in the last few months. I want to make this Christmas as special as we can.”

“It will be special, love,” Simon assured his mate and pulled him into his arms. “We just need a plan. Have you asked Meg?”

“Nope, this has to be our idea, not hers.”

Simon shook his head. “The more heads the better the ideas.”

“Fine.” Simon laughed at Kitryn’s pout, his kitty really was silly about some things. “What about blacking out the windows and telling them they have to go to bed early while it’s still dark so they won’t be missed?”

Kitryn frowned. “Do you think that will work? To be honest I can’t think of anything better.”

Simon grinned. “Okay, here’s what we’ll need to do…”

***

“Up a bit…No, left…My left, not yours…Careful, I’m on the edge as it is.”

Kitryn cussed as the paper slipped and then had to chuckle when it flipped over Simon’s face.

“It’s not funny,” Simon groused. A sound made them both prick their ears up. “Incoming.”

They both scrambled up an flatten themselves against the roof. Simon let out a low squeak when his foot started to slip.

Kitryn made a frantic grab and managed to catch Simon just as he reached the edge. Fran was almost at the corner, if he looked up they would be caught.

“Fran, where are you? I told you to stay inside.” Kitryn heaved a sigh of relief when Fran answered Meg’s demand and went back inside.

Simon and Kitryn worked quickly and got all the windows covered.

***

“Kitty it not bed time yet. It still dark out.” Nelson pointed out the window as he spoke.

Sticking to the script Kitryn said about being in bed for Santa and they went willingly.

While Kitryn read their bedtime story, Simon snuck outside and climbed up the rope they’d left there earlier. Listening ot the story he waited for his cue.

“…Santa landed on the roof and the reindeer clopped over the tiles…”

Simon clip-clopped over the roof with the two empty pots he’d stashed there.

Fran’s voice echoed out the partially open window, “I hear something, Kitty.” Simon chuckled silently and moved to be ready for the next bit.

“…He dropped his sack and his boot buckles jingled as he got off his sleigh and approached the chimney…”

Simon shook some bells softly and moved towards the chimney to the main living room.

“Bells, Kitty, bells.” Nelson sounded ecstatic. “We need to go to sleep. Finish the story later, Kitty.”

Simon grinned and made his way down and back inside. Kitryn met him there and they made a noise about going to bed themselves.

After they were sure the kits were asleep they went to work with the next part of their plan. Meg just laughed at their antics and headed for bed.

Presents went under the tree, and in the stockings hanging front the fireplace they’d had installed specially for Christmas at the kits’ insistence. Next soot footprints were laid from the fireplace to the tree and back. Then Kitryn drank some of the milk and nibbled the cookies. The last thing was a bottle of scent Simon had found in a shifter shop in town. Someone had had the idea to fool shifter children so they really believed someone had been in their home to deliver the presents.

When everything was perfect they fell into bed and were soon fast asleep.

***

“Kitty, Simmy, Santa’s been. Wake up. We covered windows. Come on there’s presents.”

Kitryn and Simon smiled at each other and went to see what ‘Santa’ had brought to their little family.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Awesome Christmas story. It’s good to see Kitryn, Simon and the kids have a good Christmas.

With everything they are going through in my other story, I thought they deserved a happy Christmas.

Mostly fun, although I'm not sure about getting shifter kids to believe in Santa.

Glad you thought it was fun. And getting the kits to believe is half the challenge and fun :)

I remember my mum and grandma going through the whole Santa thing with me, the biscuits, milk, etc...it was very sweet of them. As for Santa being a shifter...well, I think that may be another story ;)

Cute! I’m surprised Fran didn’t suss out the truth, tho. LOL

I think Fran may have known the truth but wouldn't want to spoil it for the boys. I remember being young and keeping up the pretense for my best friend's little sister. :)
