Love Looked at Me and Laughed and other poems - 10. empty

Poem No. 24
I’m not who I was
the fact is clear
But is the who I want to be
anymore near
My words, my hurts
into your heart are sent
there the power of reserves
knocks down your best defense
it is a victory I do not want
a joy that won’t
Poem No. 25
The future stretches ahead of me
in a vast array,
Speaking of the wonder of a million things
there are yet to say.
Poem No. 26

Contentment is knowing you have life to live.[1]
