How I Live Now - 3. Day 3.

I've decided to stay in the Browne Hotel again tonight; it was easier rather than having to move off and find another place to stay tonight. Though I might have to find an alternate place to crash already. It is not overly expensive to stay here, just $72 a night. Eventually, it's going to add up. If I am to make living here a reality, I'll probably have to start skimping and saving. I've already spent a good deal of money getting here, so I need to be more cautious with what I spend.

Earlier today, I unloaded everything I own onto the bed from my suitcase to see what I actually brought with me. I packed more than what was inside the case. Well, I imagined I did, but I only had x2 pairs of jeans, x7 t-shirts, x1 hoody, x10 pairs of socks, and x10 jocks. Excluding the clothes I had on me when I came, they are sitting in a pile by the bathroom door. I wonder if the hotel has a laundry service. Those clothes are starting to stink out the joint. When I think about it, maybe I could wear those jeans again.

I only wore them for the journey here, and I don't think I get to be picky right now. Plus, I'm not complaining; I got a decent sleep; last night. And right now, I don't feel like sleeping. It's bizarre how yesterday, I couldn't wait to fall asleep, and now, I can't at all. At least, I remembered to pack the power cable for my laptop. There are a few downloaded movies on there, but I've seen them so many times that I knew every word of dialogue. I think I'll watch Me, Myself & Irene; ah… no, I'll go with Ace Ventura; I can act out that movie later. I'm so bored. I love Jim Carey.

So… Today I took a stroll down to SuperValu to buy food I can make here in the hotel without ordering take-out or room service. 79c, for instant pot noodles, seemed like a good idea. So, I bought a few days' worths, and since there is a mini-fridge in the bedroom, I picked up some milk and cereal. Why doesn't the hotel room have a toaster? I'd happily live on pop tarts. I ate in the room for dinner; well, I came back to it. See, I was out most of the day trying to track down a bloody hat, and well, I found a North Face beanie. I could have done without the price—$ 35 for a stupid hat. Okay, well, maybe it's not stupid. It's nice, but somehow the responsibility seems a little bit different about owning one. I still like brands. I've also chosen to ignore my mama temporarily or maybe forever; I'm undecided. After I woke up this morning, I received another IM, and she tried to call me too when I was out and about in town.

I swung by the local library to use the computers; I have a resumé done up from Ms. Beatty's Social Studies class. I fixed up the word document on my own laptop, but then I needed a printer. I dropped off a few of the print outs to a few businesses, and when I got back before dinner, I filled out a few forums online. Let's hope I get a bite and maybe some employment.

I was feeling a bit down earlier; I do have a real shiner. I hope people don't think I am the type who gets into fights. But this cheered me up a little. I almost forget, quite a few people have blown up my Grindr profile, and I've been inundated with requests for meetups and dick pics. Of course, even if some of the guys are hot, I'm just playing around… Just testing the waters. I'm not really interested. Though one guy did offer some material that provided a good time. Though, if I'm honest, I feel overwhelmed with all the attention. It's not like I haven't gotten requests for stuff before, but OMG, this is ridiculous.

I also happened to walk past a church before lunch; I assumed the morning congregation was in session since the car lot had plenty of vehicles in it. Except, I have to say I got a great chuckle from the billboard sign on the curb. It made me feel a little better too.

The sign said, "I was addicted to the Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around."

Maybe there was some conversation therapy going on inside, but if that's their elevator pitch, I can't take it seriously.

I think I'll watch one of the movies I mentioned, or maybe I still have Netflix. Perhaps my parents haven't canceled that little escape.

I'm, out,

Talk soon,

Kyle
