Timothy - 74. Chapter 74

Arriving at Mom and Dad’s place, “Dad, I need to talk with Rich. I’m ready to file a criminal suit against Bruce, and I’ll need his help.”

Mom made a pot of coffee then went upstairs to their bedroom. She knew Dad would tell her what we said.

Sitting at the dining room table, I showed Rich the indictment.

“Tim, this is over 20 years old.”

“Stephen, did you find it?”

“Yes, Tom was right. The last entry was just before Tom left for Pennsylvania. Do you remember when Bruce left town?”

“Yes, it was the same time Benny left to take that position at our university.”

“Rich, this will be a two-prong attack. I’ll file the lawsuit for 2 million after he comes back here for the legal suit. I plan on meeting with the DA on Monday to file Tom’s rape suit.”

“What can I print? Both cases will have a major impact on the city.”

“First, I need to record those dates that Bruce and Tom visited the Motel. Stephen, why are you laughing?”

“It seems Tom didn’t trust Bruce. Each of the two rooms had a separate sign-in line in the registrar, and Tom signed his name for one room and signed Bruce’s name for the other room.”

“We need to make a copy of those pages. Rich, if you could do that and get the copies notarized, I’ll make arrangements to have those books returned.”

Rich left with copies of the lawsuit, the papers I would submit to the DA, and the ledger from the Motel.

“Tim, you are going after this guy with a vengeance.”

“Yes, I am, Dad. He not only raped Ann Marie but denied her and us over 20 years of family. She should have enjoyed the same relationship we have had with Eva, and she was denied a happy marriage, and who knows what guilt she carried for 20 years. If Mom knew, she should have told you, and you could have taken him to court, and he would have been in jail. Now, I have a chance to revenge Ann Marie and Tom from this guy.”

Later that night, in bed, “You are very angry. Be careful that you don’t let your anger affect you. We got him, and he will pay for his crimes.”

Stephen was right. I need to address these issues calmly. I was going to make him pay.

Sunday, we went to church. Mom and Dad chatted with some of their friends. Stephen and I went and sat in my usual pew. Again as I watched the people enter, I could tell those who generally sat in the pew we occupied. Mom and Dad came in and at with us. I was surprised when Eva and John came in with the baby. They went to sit up front, and a woman whispered something to Eva. She turned, I waved. She whispered to John, and they got up and came to sit with us. Stephen immediately took the baby from Eva. From the smile on his face, I knew he would be a loving parent. I also knew I’d be the one to be a disciplinarian.

After church, we joined the crowd outside. The women came over to see the baby, who was still in Stephen’s arms. I watched as they smiled at Stephen and the baby. I also noticed no men came over. One small boy was on his way over when his dad grabbed him and led him away. I wonder what they will think when the story breaks.

Sunday afternoon, we stopped at the farm. Randy and Stephen had their time together, Aunt Clara and I had a coffee and a piece of the pie. “Those two and their computers. The only time I see Randy is when he’s hungry. Tim, if something happens to me, I want you and Stephen to watch over him.”

“Aunt Clara, are you alright? You’re not ill, are you?”

“No, Tim. I have no living relatives, and he’ll need a family, and I think he has already adopted Stephen as a brother.”

“I think you are right about that.”

“Right about what?”

“Stephen, you want a cup of coffee and a piece of pie?”

“Thank you, Aunt Clara.” Whispering, “What were you talking about?”

“I’ll tell you later.”

Randy entered the kitchen with a basket of vegetables. “Give me your keys, Tim. I’ll put these in your trunk.”

I handed him my keys and a ten-dollar bill. He looked, smiled, and I got a hug.

On the way home, I told Stephen what Aunt Clara said, and he just smiled.

Monday morning, we said goodbye to Mom and Dad. They would drive up to see Ann Marie and Stephen, and I would join them a little later.

We headed to the DA’s office. I told the receptionist who I was, and I was representing a client who had been sexually assaulted, and I would like to see the District Attorney. She picked up the phone, Stephen and I went and sat down. We no sooner sat when a young lady came out, spoke to the receptionist, who pointed to us. She came over and introduced herself as Jane Wiess, Assistant District attorney. I introduced myself and Stephen as my husband, no reaction.

We followed her to her office. I had copies of Tom’s statements and my lawsuit against Bruce.

Finally, the ducks are ready in a really nice row , and the ball is about to start rolling, this is going to be a rather emotional roller coaster, Bruce is going to find out when the newspaper reporters start calling, and no doubt they will when the story hits the papers

Hopefully Jane is open minded to the legal action against bruce and his rape of Tom over many years. Timothy is so right, he needs to pay for the years for family time he took away from them and so many others. Still perplexes me why the mom didn't come forward at the time and roast that scumbag to the ground then. Stephen is very wise is advising Timothy not to let the anger consume him. Lastly, I wanted to vomit when the young boy was headed over to Timothy and Stephen and the man pulled him back. UGH, I'll just stop now before I put a foot in it and offend someone.

Hopefully Jane is open minded to the legal action. Tim seems to have everything organised nicely to bring Bruce down.

What the heck was the father of the little boy afraid of?

You think at the trial Donny might pay a visit to tell Tim to ask a specific question or something along those lines

I'm not so sure that convicting Bruce is a slam dunk, especially if Bruce hires a good lawyer. The motel register at most shows a gay sexual relationship. That it was rape is Tom's word against Bruce's. Bruce's lawyer might argue that given that Tom has been known as gay since his teens, there's no way he wasn't willingly having six with Bruce for twenty years. In fact, he pleaded with Bruce to sodomize him, even resorting to blackmail Bruce with threats to expose Bruce. Etc., etc.

In this rural area, gays are anathema (e.g., the father pulling his son away). There won't be any sympathy for Tom, who after all is the "woman" in the sexual activities. And certainly no understanding of what it is to live in the closet.

Tim has started the first step of bringing Bruce to account.

You don't need to worry about putting your foot in it, I have many times and find I sleep better at night when I do. Tim has faced the hypocrisy of these church members before.

Donny is still there supporting Tim. If a glitch develops, Donnie will step in.

Sure knows how to leave us on a cliff hanger, you just know this Jane woman is going to be trouble. Why not the DA? You just know there will be as problem... or am I just a fusspot?

I think the preponderance of evidence is/will be overwhelming for it to be ignored. If the DA or the Assistant DA chooses to make the attempt to ignore, Tim has the press on his side.

Just think...what the reaction would be if the news got out that the DA and his Assistant willingly chose to ignore a serious set of allegations!!~

Is Jane a new assistant DA because the DA has suddenly left town?  I may be thinking down the wrong path here but  I just have a feeling that there is something hiding around the corner that will make Tim and Stephen somewhat feel like the fish are jumping out of the fish bowl because Tim the Tiger Shark is coming in.

Lets hope more victims or rape at the hands of Bruce and who knows how many others are a part of what was going on in our small hamlet.
Possible Police knew about the rapes,  The school knew about the rapes, and possibly even a few parents might be involved.  I guess we will need to wait.  I am eager to seeTim in action for those who have lost so much at the hands of Dr. Bruce.

I learned a long time ago that the best authors always left you wanting more, cliff hangers. I'm not an expert at that but it seems I'm learning. And you aren't a fusspot.

I'm not sure the DA's office will take a Tom's case. In todays world prejudices still exist.

With the way Tim and Donnie were treated and currently how Tim and Stephen are treated in church, I think there is still a lot of hatred in this community. I think Tim will need Donny
