Dating Rules And Pretty Fools

   (5 reviews)
Dating Rules-by-Laura S Fox - cover.jpg

To have someone to love is one of life’s greatest gifts, his grandma used to say. However, what grandma didn’t know, and Otis didn’t have the heart to tell her, was that getting there in this day and age required going through a painful phase called dating. Something he’s not very good at, to put it lightly. However, when someone moves in an apartment a few doors down from his, Otis begins to see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

A beautiful yet powerful story where the adage “looks can be deceiving” was readily apparent. Readers will enjoy Otis and Hudson’s journey traversing innocence, love, and tragedy.

This story is a fantastic read especially for those adventurous enough to experience a realistic view of innocence interacting with a chaotic world.

Response from the author:

Thank you for your kind review! It summed up the story at its core, showing once more how attentive you always are when reading my works. I am humbled and flattered. All the best!

Thank you for this very memorable read of love, humour, naivety, honour, trust on one hand and pure greed and evilness on the other. I have thoroughly enjoyed following ( sometimes impatiently ) the exploits between our two heroes and the dastardly villains.  This story is beautifully written full of twists and turns , lots of drama and intrigue, yet perfectly balanced by Otis' innocence.  A must read.

Response from the author:

Thank you so much for your kind review and high rating. Since it was quite the rollercoaster, I'm beyond words how happy it makes me that readers like you think so highly of Otis's story. Wishing you all the best!

Beauty can be the fatal flaw if it doesn't come from within - this story deals with the grotesque horrors around the hollow, picturesque beauties.

A darker and more adventurous journey, for those who are familiar with the author's previous works, and yet there is the signature magic ingredient - even in the darkest hour there's always a glimpse of light.

I wish you a great journey ahead with the story.

Response from the author:

What a nice review, thank you so much! He-he, for a second there, I thought you'd say in your quote... Beauty is terror... But that's a different book we both know and love ;)

A simple premise--a shy. inexperienced youth, Otis, seeks out dating rules and advice from his new , worldly , photographer neighbor, Hudson. Surprisingly, Otis's innocent, earnest requests captivate Hudson who is really an undercovercop. They both get drawn into scary doings by very evil men . Hudson is doing his police job. Otis becomes the desired object of the head tormenter.  The final chapters are full of suspense and horrendous acts and bravery and skill.

I highly  recommend this story, Laura Fox has once again created a gem.

Response from the author:

Thank you for being such a dutiful commenter on the story and leaving this review! You said it well; the story starts simple, and it was actually my initial intention until things got complicated of their own accord, and I found myself writing something more complex. So awesome that you guys stuck with me until the end!

Read it and you'll fall in love with Otis... but not because he's handsome... This story is full of good and bad people, so bad you cannot imagine. But the best part is that Otis brings with him all the light of the world to clean all. Go! Go to meet him! Now!
