A university dropout is brutally shoved into the concrete hell of Cradle Grove. Targeted and destitute, Kieran’s only path is scavenging and shame. Then Ben, a terrifyingly silent force, saves him from a beating. A protector? A predator? As bodies start to fall, Kieran is thrust into a savage new hierarchy, where survival means embracing the violence and dark loyalty of a world that wants to destroy him.

This isn't a love story.  But it could be if you twist it enough.

Everything about this story is twisted though, from Kieran's growth into someone he didn't think he could be, the silent mentor that carves this new creation with a quiet kind of blunt force and fear.  It's a deep read, but one worth while.

As the author repeatedly tells us this isn't a love story, but it does have moments of a loving nature.

Take a typical British Council Estate, throw into the mix Ben and Kier. Add in the usual estate crowd and you have an excellent setting.

Is Ben a protector or predator, he saves Kier.

But whilst doing this bodies begin to fall and suddenly we have a murderer on the scene.

Read on to discover much more.

Kieran thrown out of university and into a brutal life in estate housing finds himself barely surviving on the dole and facing predators ready to hurt him and pick him clean.  They know he has no street skills and has some money. Ben finds him and saves him from a nasty beating but kills one of Kieran's attackers. The police think Kieran was the killer and cannot prove so they keep watch on Kieran missing Ben's involvement.

Kieran slowly transform into a leader and builds his own kingdom to rule over Cradle Grove under Ben's watchful eye. Kier lucks into associates and along the way receives sexual release from some of them. Their environment is violent and competitive. Ben intervenes malevolently and  Kier keeps knowing Ben rules him. The police remain clueless about the deaths and real power struggles. There is a surprising final scene

This is rightfully termed a psychological thriller. Read on the be challenged and worried. Life is not easy or safe in Cradle Grove.
