About this story

This is a much delayed spin-off from the two-part Clinton Boys series. We’re reacquainted with Ed Lamont and Claude Moreau, two boys whose paths meet and over the span of almost a decade, culminate in disaster.

Reading or being familiar with the Clinton Boys series isn’t necessary. In fact, if you haven’t read it, you won’t be exposed to a number of spoilers should you decide to skip it. But feel free to go back and read it afterward. Heehee.

There will be themes of abuse, both emotional and physical, between boys of the same age.

A common scenario in our society.  The bully and the one being bullied.  Even though this is a side-story to another work, you can read it, understand what's going on, and enjoy it (although that's probably the wrong ter, to use in this case).  Don't worry though, because Lee offers warnings where appropriate, if that was causing you to question whether or not you should read this story.  It is very realistic and relatable, and it's also a warning about how situations like this can get out of hand, so if you see a bully, intervene and work to stop the bully's aggressive behaviior before the situation gets out of hand.

Response from the author:

Thanks for this. Definitely raises the need for “see something, say something” thinking.

This is a spin off from the Clinton Boys.

We follow Ed and Claude and get acquainted with there many meetings over a decade.

Be careful when reading as there are scenes featuring emotional and physical abuse.

Response from the author:

And as was said in the comments, sad. Thanks, as always.
