Echoes in the Storm - 1. Chapter 1

A spoken‑word reflection on searching for God’s truth in a world full of noise, ridicule, and doubt. Through symbols of storms, shattered mirrors, and a flickering lantern, the poem explores how society pushes you aside for believing — yet the quiet, persistent flame of faith refuses to die.

“Echoes in the Storm”

I walk through a world of noise,

where truth is auctioned off to the highest shout.

They call me names,

throw labels like stones,

and laugh when I say I’m still searching for God.

But I keep walking.

Lantern in hand, flame trembling,

a single spark against the hurricane of disbelief.

They say faith is foolish —

I say it’s fire.

And fire doesn’t ask permission to burn.

I dig through the rubble of reason,

hands bleeding,

looking for the seed of something eternal.

Concrete above me, chaos around me,

but somewhere beneath it all,

a whisper still breathes: I always was.

The world spins mirrors instead of windows,

each reflection shouting, look at me!

But I’m looking past the glass,

past the noise,

past the names they call me.

Because truth isn’t found in the crowd —

it’s found in the quiet,

in the heartbeat that refuses to stop believing.

So I stand in the storm,

lantern flickering,

and I say —

you can push me aside,

you can call me blind,

but I will keep searching for the light

that never learned how to die.
