Just Some Poems - 1. What We Once Had

You embrace her,

I can see you care for her,

But your eyes give you away.

Those misty grey orbs,

Orbs the colour of the stormy skies,

Show you want to be with another.

You show her physical love,

But not the emotional love,

The love we once retained.

Now you try to do what is right,

Not right by you,

But right in the eyes of others.

Right in the eyes of others who haven't experienced,

Haven't experienced what we had,

What we once had…

I really like this poem, Connor. It's very sad and I'm sure something that happens quite often when people are afraid of what society thinks and they don't want to go against what others expect of them.

It's very sad for the person they leave behind, for the person they are lying to, and especially for themselves by living this lie.

Thank you Lisa :) It sucks, people shouldnt want to have to do that, just to be 'normal'. But it happens

People who are in love should love who they please, and not care what society thinks, far too many people in this world are judgmental when it comes to love between male and female or the same sex, true love is no ones business but the two people in love.
