2015 poems - 8. Passing Stars

In this life we are like passing stars,

Bright comets arrayed in light and ice

With gasses hidden in our stony depths.

Precious metals, stones and jewels combined,

In sublime salience.

Our courses spun and traveled far,

Movéd by a force beyond our par.

With shifting mass and turning stars,

like lighthouse beacons from afar.

We travel, sojourn, live and die.

Here in the majesty of the sky.

We are but procreates of the stars.

The vocal echoes of a song long sung,

That yet still rings across this ebony sea.

In shining light, and nebulous storm,

Where liquid sapphires rain from the sky.

We journey ever on my dear, through

This night of our lives? In this life.

We are. Like passing stars.

A beautiful poem - actually - a grand poem, with the opening mention of comets and other heavenly bodies. Love it
